In the first major snow of the season, the bottom of Pajarito Ski Area received six inches of snow, while the top received more than eight inches. Last year, the ski area received almost no natural snow, and was forced to operate at reduced capacity throughout the winter.
Now, with snow falling so early and the long term forecast pointing toward more winter weather moving forward, Long believes that everything is on track for Pajarito Mountain to open its lifts for skiers on Dec. 21.
Swinton Odhiambo, who had just complete his Standard Eight examinations at Kawuor Primary School and Calvin Ochieng, a Form Two student at Obera Secondary School, met their deaths at 5pm as they were playing football at a local playground in Kabuoch village, Ndhiwa Sub - County .
Two other students sustained burns and were taken to a local hospital.
Assistant chief John Otonge said the duo were pronounced dead on arrival the hospital.
"The KCPE candidate was said to be full of joy after sitting for the exams and was sure of passing the national tests," Mr Otonge said.

The storm favored southern Colorado with more than 16 inches falling near Cuchara in the Sangre de Cristo Range, 13 inches at Wolf Creek Pass and 12 at La Veta Pass. The Wolf Creek ski area, which is open on weekends for now, reported 14 inches of fresh snow this morning and a 30-inch depth at mid-mountain. A winter storm warning remains in effect for the Sangre de Cristos until 3 p.m.
The northern mountains near the Continental Divide also did well. The Estes Park-Longs Peak area received 8-10 inches. Berthoud Pass picked up 10 and the Winter Park ski area eight.

Winter is starting to arrive in the northern hemisphere with snow falling during the past week in North America, Europe and Japan. The biggest falls have been in Europe with parts of the Alps receiving a metre of snow in 72 hours followed by another 50-70cms on Oct 29 and more snow is expected over the next few days. The totals are hitting the two metre mark in the higher resorts, a number of which are already open and more resorts are set to open soon.
While this early season snow is great news for most European resorts, it is not good news for the Stomping Grounds camps in Saas Fee, with the second session currently on hold due to the consistent snowfalls. For Stomping Grounds director Charles Beckinsale, it is a frustrating situation.

The Kingdom has been hit by heavy rain and thunderstorms and officials said this year has seen some the most extreme weather conditions in decades.
The Directorate General of Civil Defense said one of the deaths occurred in Riyadh, four cases were recorded in Makkah, two in the Eastern Province, one in Asir, one in Tabuk, three in Al-Baha, one in Jazan and one in Hail.
Since Oct. 19, the Command and Guidance Center in Riyadh has received 423 requests for help from the civil defense, as the heavy rain affected 13 areas of the Kingdom, SPA reported.
Civil Defense forces rescued 299 stranded people, including 115 in Makkah. Most of those needing help were trapped in their vehicles, of which 88 people were evacuated and 282 cars were towed.
The General Authority of Meteorology and Environmental Protection warned of further bad weather with rain throughout the Kingdom, and winds and lifting dust in some areas.
