Two dogs were killed in Hillside Beach and the third was killed in Albert Beach, said Victoria Beach Police Chief Stewart MacPherson, adding the latter dog was a malamute and the attack was "particularly severe."
"The dog was literally torn into pieces and a piece was found over here and another piece over here type thing. They really went to town on that dog," said MacPherson.
MacPherson said it appears there are three or four wolves attacking dogs, and they're quite cunning. They send a female wolf to play with a male dog, then the male wolves swarm.
"The quake, measuring 4.6 on the Richter Scale, occurred at 10.27 pm and had its epicentre in Assam's Darrang district bordering China," said an official of the meteorological department.
The earthquake was felt in some parts of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, and adjoining areas of northeastern region, besides parts of Bhutan.
It lasted for about 10 to 12 seconds.
India's northeast is considered the sixth major earthquake-prone belt in the world.
Traffic is currently being allowed to pass on the left hand shoulder as crews work to repair the problem.
Cars and trucks were backed up for five kilometres, with an estimated one hour delay at one point. The lanes were closed for over eight hours while the hole was filled.
The sinkhole appeared shortly after noon in the southbound shoulder at Mile Marker 59.5 and caused traffic congestion mostly along the southbound lanes, but did not create widespread traffic jams in either direction as motorists were being diverted around work crews, said Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Kathy McKinney.
A trooper was on the scene in case the situation worsened, McKinney said. There was no need to direct traffic as of 2:45 p.m., she added.
"We're just monitoring it at this point," McKinney said. "Traffic is just moving a little slower than normal."
The break in the 30-inch diameter pipe is causing customers from Grassy Key to Key West to experience reduced water pressure while crews make repairs, Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority Executive Director Kirk Zuelch said.
"It was definitely a major leak," Zuelch said.
Crews planned to work through the night to repair the leak, Zuelch said Friday.
Comment: The authorities are assuming that the water main break caused the sinkhole, but what if the sinkhole, created by the Earth's 'opening up', caused the the water main to break?
"We've had 50 centimetres of snow. Between the Fuscher Törl and the Hochtor, there are snow drifts of up to two meters," deputy police superintendent Peter Embacher said. "We have three snowploughs and two snow blowers on the go. We hope that today we can clear all the snow and reopen the road by Friday," he added.
The spa town of Bad Gastein also saw snow, and the road to Sportgastein had to be closed on Wednesday, after 40 centimetres of fresh snow. On Thursday morning drivers were told to use snow chains on the B99 road.
SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- An auto body business was the scene of a large fire that, officials said, was caused by a transformer explosion, Friday afternoon.
Around 2:30 p.m., Miami-Dade Fire Rescue reported to the scene of the fire in the area of Southwest 105th Street and 184th Terrace. According to witnesses, a transformer of the business exploded and caused two vehicles and one boat to catch fire.
Crystal Morales said she stepped outside when she heard the loud explosion and watched as a power wire fell on top of the vehicles and the boat. "Lights were going on and off, then after that, there was a really big explosion," said Morales. "The fire department came quick. I called 911."
Before the fire was put out by crews, they had to shut down power. "We were all scared the truck, Mercedes and boat were going to explode," said Morales.
No injuries were reported and the vehicles and the boat are likely to be declared a total loss.
Comment: In the last week alone there have been many other cases of transformer explosions and electrical anomalies, a few of which include:
- In Johannesburg two men were critically injured in a freak accident that saw a transformer they were working on explode.
- A massive fire at an apartment building in Canada caused by a failure of the electrical distribution system.
- A smoky cabin forced an American Airlines jet to make an emergency landing on approach to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.
- Three transformers went up in flames after a blast at a nearby substation in Cyber City, India.
- In Connecticut an underground explosion cut off power to more than 1,500 customers.
- A huge-explosion ripped through residential building in Chengdu, China.
As seismic and volcanic activity intensifies, increased outgassing of methane, and other gases like hydrogen sulfide, from deep below the planet's surface could be igniting?
Perhaps some incidents are related 'electrically' in part to the 'grounding' of our Solar System?

A bird never recorded before in the UK is believed to have landed in Kent, and then died.
Suspected to be an Acadian flycatcher from North America, the historic landing on the beach at Dungeness in Kent sparked one of the biggest mass gathering of twitchers in years.
They hope to catch a sight of the small robin-sized bird that should be basking in the tropical forests of Panama or Colombia.
But today it was nowhere to be seen with fears that the exhausted bird had died.
Somehow it had been caught up in a fast-moving Atlantic weather system that has taken it from its nesting grounds in eastern USA to the famous gravel headland overlooking the English Channel.
