"I immediately went into a panic," said Knowles, who has been an avid birdwatcher for the past 45 years. "Then I started scheming about how I was going to get to see this bird."
The photo had been taken on Nov. 18 by Burgeo resident Mitchell Billard, who was looking for help identifying the strange-looking bird that was sitting on his roof.

-60 °C reported in Oymyakon, Eastern Siberia, Russia last night. Pretty cold! [This, of course is unofficial; the official figure at the same time is -55 °C - still very cold]
A low temperature of minus 69 degrees [fahrenheit] was recorded early Tuesday in Delyankir, Russia. This is colder than the all-time record lows in every U.S. state except Utah (-69 degrees), Montana (-70 degrees) and Alaska (-80 degrees).
If that wasn't incredible enough, the daytime high in Delyankir Tuesday failed to rise above -60 degrees.
The 5.7 magnitude quake was felt in Darwin just before 10am.
Geoscience Australia senior seismologist Phil Cummins said the quake was about 160km below the earth's surface and did not pose a tsunami threat.
"It's too small and too deep to be concerned about a tsunami. And we never know about other earthquakes. There might be aftershocks," he said.
He said there had been up to 30 reports from people in Darwin having felt the tremors.
He said it was unusual for an earthquake to be felt hundreds of kilometres away.
However, he said it was not unknown for the effects of earthquakes' to 'carry' in this region.
"It would be surprising for an earthquake to be felt that far away but we know the path between the Banda Sea and Darwin appears to be particularly efficient for the transmission of the seismic waves," he said.
He said he had not heard of any damage to towns in the area in Indonesia where it had hit.
A quick Google of Hawaii weather reveals that today's average temperature is a mild 75 degrees Fahrenheit, (24 degrees Celsius) but up on the Mauna Loa, the highest peak on the "Big Island" of Hawaii, it's close to freezing with with winds whipping up to 25 miles per hour, a statement from Mauna Kea weather center in Hawaii reported. As of yesterday morning, Mauna Kea was completely saturated with icy rain and snow. The rain and snow is expected to carry on until the end of the week.
The statement also advised that there is a high risk for a mixture of snow and rain and perhaps on the mountaintop at virtually anytime this week, but especially Wednesday and Thursday night.

In this Monday, Nov. 27, 2017 photo provided by Mark Girardeau and Dana Wharf Whale Watching, a rare Nazca Booby is seen at the harbor in Dana Point, Calif
"I'm still smiling ear to ear," she said after seeing the Nazca Booby casually hanging out with pelicans on a jetty. "To be able to see it today, it's hard to grasp the words. I'm just so thrilled to be able to see this. It's once in a lifetime. Here it was in our backyard, in the Dana Point harbor."
Bird-watching enthusiasts flocked to the Orange County harbor clutching binoculars and long lenses hoping to see the Nazca Booby.
The bird was spotted in Newport Beach two weeks ago, then by a deckhand on the fishing boat Sum Fun on Sunday, and again Monday on the rock jetty where boaters enter and exit the harbor, said Donna Kalez, manager of Dana Wharf Whale Watching.

Nighttime flashes in Japanese weather satellite imagery around Mt. Agung as a new eruption began on 27 November 2017. The flashes occur at 19:50, 20:10, and 20:30 UTC. The city lights have been added separately from previous observations from a different satellite, to assist in nighttime geolocation; the village lights of Besakih, on the southwest slope of Mt. Agung, can be seen within the dashed circle.
Sources said that each of the dolphins that washed ashore at the Punnakayal beach on Monday evening after dusk weighed at least 100 kilos.
