Paramedics attend those injured by the lightning strike at Atlanta golf tournament
Play was suspended due to severe storms, however bystanders were caught in the midst of the danger.

Six people were injured after a lightning strike at the season-ending PGA Tour Championship event outside Atlanta on Saturday.

The PGA Tour said that two lightning strikes hit East Lake Golf Club at 4:45 p.m. ET, 28 minutes after the third round was suspended due to thunderstorms in the area. The Tour said that a tree in the area between the practice range, the 15th green and the 16th tee "was hit and debris from that strike injured four people."

The Tour added that six fans were taken from the course in ambulances for further medical attention. Atlanta Police spokesman James H. White III said the six had sought shelter beneath the tree that was struck by lightning. He said they were taken to hospitals for further treatment, all of them alert, conscious and breathing.

"Our latest report is that their injuries do not appear to be life-threatening," the statement added.

So it begins, if you want to buy pork in China you will need to present your ID card to get the ration / government price on a per household basis per week. Also USDA now decreased serving size for adults of fish from 8 ounces to 4 ounces and in the UK banning of meat and milk in universities. The narrative continues, get ready for less food.

Winter is Coming Cycles of Change Presentation: A comprehensive PDF slide presentation with accompanying MP3 narration of the slides by David DuByne, author of Climate Revolution. Over an hour of detailed explanation and documentation of the rapidly approaching periods of life-changing Cold we will soon experience.

Climate Revolution is a 'Must Read' for understanding our Sun driven climate as we progress deeper into the new Eddy Grand Solar Minimum. Weather extremes leading to Global food scarcity and high food prices are here now, and this book describes the expected changes, how to survive & thrive during future challenging times with practical preparations.

World Extreme Weather: Is it Man-made, or Does it Stem From Something Else?

snow avalanche
Our planet seems to be in a growing crisis in terms of agriculture and crop production related to unusual weather shifts. Many reports in recent months use the term "extreme weather" to describe record heat across Europe this summer, record flooding in US Midwest farm states, or record drought across India and major parts of Africa and China. Parts of the US Midwest are undergoing the worst growing conditions since at least the 1980s. In the UK the weather has been ruinous to the grain harvest there.

The crucial question to ask is whether we can assume, as many do, that this is all part of man-made global warming, today renamed climate change, or whether it can be caused by something quite different: The periodic cycles of solar activity that in the past months have entered what astro-scientists call a "solar minimum." If it is due to the latter, we are spending huge sums on addressing a wrong problem - in fact, trillions of dollars.

Until this July large parts of India were suffering record drought. Chennai reservoirs were down to 0.2% of capacity over the past two years as a severe heatwave saw 99% less water than a year ago. Acute water shortages have forced thousands to flee their villages. Though in early August above-average monsoon seasonal rains relieved the situation in some parts, so far the rainfall is far from adequate to restore empty reservoirs across India.

Comment: ...and that came after all-time record flooding in Chennai, south India just 4 years ago.

In China severe drought has left about 800,000 hectares of crops affected in northern China's Hebei Province with rainfall some 55% below normal. That comes as devastation of China's pig population from the deadly African Swine Fever spreads and crops across the country are being destroyed by a plague of Army Fallworm infestation that is resistant to most weed-killers.

Comment: It's a bit more complicated than just 'what mood the Sun is in' (something(s) unknown out there is setting him off!), but it's certainly 'in the ballpark' to frame the current extremes people are experiencing in the context of natural forces that are several orders of magnitude more powerful than human activity.

The entire breadth of focus on man directly causing this - from the media mirage of 'consensus' science claiming 'we know exactly what is happening and thus exactly what to do about it', to farcical street protests in which people demand their govts 'do what the media says should be done about it' - amounts to one great big global session of 'screaming at the sky'.

This is way bigger than us.

Wild Ride Ahead - 2020 Farmers' Almanac predicts "Polar Coaster" winter!

SNOW BUS

All aboard!
If you didn't like last winter, you may want to stop reading right now. The 2020 Farmers' Almanac's extended weather forecast is calling for a "Polar Coaster Winter," with plenty of frigid temperatures and snow for a majority of the country.

"Freezing, frigid, and frosty" are the exact terms used to describe the upcoming season, especially for areas east of the Rockies all the way to the Appalachians.

No Rest for the Winter Weary

"We expect yet another wild ride this winter," shares Pete Geiger, Philom., Editor, "with extreme temperatures swings and some hefty snowfalls."

Comment: We think Ice Age Now called this one wrong. It sounds like hail in the video. However, it's snowing in August all over the world

A couple of officials in a dinghy warn people to get out of the water
Mystery of Essex beach breathing problems deepens as cause still unknown

Visitors to the seaside town of Frinton have been advised not to go into the water, following multiple reports of children coughing and struggling to breathe

The reason why children coughed and struggled to breathe at a packed Essex beach yesterday remains a mystery.

Hundreds of families were enjoying the sun in the seaside town of Frinton on Sunday, when a large number of people began to have trouble breathing.

Essex Police said they were investigating, but that the cause remained unknown and the force advised people not to enter the water.

Emergency services, including the ambulance and fire service, attended the scene at the seafront off Fourth Avenue shortly after 2pm.

The Popocatepetl volcano spews a cloud of ash and steam
Mexico's Popocatepetl volcano erupted twice on Sunday, blasting a column of ash, smoke and gas more than 1.5km into the sky.

A level-two yellow alert warning remains in effect following a second eruption at 6:34pm which sent a column of ash in a north-northwestern direction, following the initial eruption at 5:55am.

Mexican authorities have warned people to stay away from the crater due to the danger of falling "ballistic fragments," and called for extra attention to possible landslides. They also warned locals that ash may cover towns in the surrounding area.

'If you see it, kill it': Spotted lanternfly spreads to 7 US counties

This invasive insect, known as the spotted lanternfly, has begun to spread into more areas of New Jersey than ever before, posing a potential threat to crops and fruit trees.

Remember those exotic-looking insects that some agriculture officials feared would hitch a ride on Christmas trees last winter and expand their turf? Turns out the Christmas tree threat never materialized, but during recent months spotted lanternflies have invaded a few more counties in New Jersey.

The most recent sightings of spotted lanternflies were confirmed this week in Camden County, prompting public officials to urge residents to be on the lookout for those invasive insects in an effort to stop them from destroying crops or fruit trees.

If you do happen to spot one of these bugs at your home, in your yard or on your car, what should you do?

Comment: While some insects numbers are exploding and plaguing areas, an overall collapse in the insect population is also occurring:
