Raytown police responded to a house in the area of E. 77th Street and Elm Avenue just before 3:40 p.m. on Nov. 14 regarding an unresponsive person.
When officers arrived on scene they located the 15-year-old boy suffering from several severe injuries. The victim was taken to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on Nov. 17.

Mount Ulawun on the island of New Britain in Papua New Guinea erupted at around 3:30 p.m. (0630 GMT) Monday, spewing volcanic smoke as high as 15,000 meters (50,000 feet), the agency said, quoting the Volcanic Ash Advisory Center in Darwin, Australia.
The agency said it was assessing a possible impact, including the risk of a tsunami approaching Japan later Monday. First tsunami waves could reach Izu and Ogasawara islands about three hours after the shaking caused by the eruption, JMA said.

The eruption of new material as high as approximately 1,000 meters came out of the crater of Mount Dukono on Halmahera Island, North Maluku, Sunday (19/11/2023).
"The ash column was observed to be white, gray to black with thick intensity to northeast and east. When this report was made, the eruption was still ongoing," he said. Bambang appealed to tourists not to be active, climbing, and to approach the Malumpang Warirang Crater within a two-kilometer radius.
He also appealed to the community around Mount Dubono to always provide a mask or covering of the nose and mouth to avoid the threat of volcanic ash on the respiratory system. The Dukono Mountain which has a height of 1,335 meters is currently at Level II or Alert status. The closest settlement is at a distance of 11 kilometers from the peak of the volcano.
A fallen tree crushed two people to death in their car, in the Russian city of Novokuznetsk, TASS news agency quoted a regional official. The third victim was killed in Altai Krai, the regional emergencies ministry said in a statement, adding three people were hurt.
Sergei Kuznetsov, the head of Novokuznetsk, said an emergency had been declared in the city after strong winds damaged electricity lines and buildings, adding that local schools and kindergartens would not open on Monday. The neighbouring city of Prokopievsk also entered a state of emergency, its head said.

Eurasia's tallest volcano has violently erupted, throwing a 1,000-mile-long (1,600 kilometers) cloud of dust and ash into the air, new NASA satellite images show.
Klyuchevskoy, sometimes referred to as Klyuchevskaya Sopka, is an active stratovolcano in Russia's Kamchatka Peninsula, which is home to more than 300 other volcanos. Klyuchevskoy's peak stands at 15,584 feet (4,750 meters) above sea level, making it taller than any other volcano in Asia or Europe, according to the Kamchatka Volcanic Eruption Response Team (KVERT).

The National Weather Service measured 1.1 inches at the agency's Sand Lake offices between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m., according to meteorologist Kristine Chen. That puts the total snow accumulation at 39.1 inches, narrowly surpassing the 1994 total of 38.8 inches, she said.

Most Brazilian states face "great danger" from the heat, according to the National Institute of Meteorology. The institution issued a red alert for the center-west, southeast and parts of the north warning of "a high probability of major damage and accidents, with risks to physical integrity or even human life."
The heat index — a combination of temperature and humidity — hit 58.5 degrees Celsius (137 Fahrenheit) Tuesday morning in Rio, the highest index ever recorded there. Actual temperatures dropped slightly on Wednesday, but were forecast to rise again to 40 degrees Celsius (104 F) on Thursday.
Cariocas — as residents of Rio are known — have always seen sun, heat and the beach as part of their identity, said Núbia Beray, coordinator of Rio de Janeiro Federal University's GeoClima laboratory. But this is too much even for many of them, she said.
"Cariocas come home from work in buses without air conditioning. Street vendors cannot work because they sometimes faint. The heat kills," Beray said.
After 9:20 p.m., different streets of the capital have puddles that hinder the circulation and the mobility of vehicles due to the large amount of rain that continues to fall.
Users have reported power outages in several areas, such as Villa Mella, Gascue, Cristo Rey, Invivienda, Mendoza, Hainamosa, Villa Carmen, and Simón Bolivar.
Several areas of Greater Santo Domingo remain in darkness.
