The shooting took place in a business park in Perryman, a small town less than 30 miles northeast of Baltimore.
Deputies were dispatched to the scene shortly after 9am Thursday morning, and the FBI and ATF responded to assist with the "active shooter situation" shortly afterwards.
It is still unknown whether the suspect has been captured or killed, but law enforcement says the situation is "secure."
The president's son and ex-Fox News personality Kimberly Guilfoyle are scheduled to campaign in Bozeman, Montana next week for Republican Senate candidate Matt Rosendale. They had planned to host a large dinner where Trump and Guilfoyle intended to speak to more than 200 people who had reportedly reserved tickets - but Bozeman's Midtown Tavern had other plans.
Manager of the restaurant Jeff Wilcox told the Bozeman Daily Chronicle that he won' host the rally as the venue does not "want to take political sides."Wilcox told the paper that the announcement that the Midtown Tavern would host the rally was a miscommunication, as that is "just not who we are. We just try to stay politically neutral."
Announced in 2013, the Promoting Gender Equity in National Priority Programs were aimed at improving the status of more than 75,000 young Afghan women, at the cost of around $216 million.
Five years into the program, a report from Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) says that USAID has failed to make much headway on just about any of its objectives, despite $89.7 million spent as of April 2018.
Many lives would have been changed for the better had the US spent the money properly, Nazia, head of a sewing center in Nangarhar Province, told RT.
Elevated levels of lead and copper were detected in the water of 57 schools, according to the Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD). The body is still awaiting results for 27 more schools.
Michigan's largest school district initiated the widespread tests after a previous examination last year uncovered high elevations of lead and/or copper in 16 of 24 schools. Drinking water was turned off in the affected schools and water coolers and bottled water was supplied.
Comment: With toxic levels of lead comes toxic levels of violence and neurological disorders:
[L]ead is a double whammy: It impairs specific parts of the brain responsible for executive functions and it impairs the communication channels between these parts of the brain. For children like the ones in the Cincinnati study, who were mostly inner-city kids with plenty of strikes against them already, lead exposure was, in Cecil's words, an "additional kick in the gut." And one more thing: Although both sexes are affected by lead, the neurological impact turns out to be greater among boys than girls.Children ingesting even the tiniest amounts of lead at school are being set up for failure. And, according to recent reports, this problem is only growing across the United States. Studies of 34 states suggest that at least 3,810 neighborhoods have lead levels double those in Flint, Michigan, while half of those sites have levels four times as high.
Other recent studies link even minuscule blood lead levels with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder. Even at concentrations well below those usually considered safe - levels still common today - lead increases the odds of kids developing ADHD.
A total of 28 journalists have suffered 22 verified physical assaults so far in 2018, according to the report. That number is a significant increase from last year, when there were only five registered attacks against members of the media.
The report found that most of the journalists were attacked while they were photographing, filming, or holding cameras during demonstrations or events. The perpetrators often targeted them because they believed they were being filmed against their will.
"The readiness to commit violent acts especially at gatherings has grown, and also the readiness of some 'angry citizens' to tolerate and legitimate violence against journalists is remarkable," the ECPMF said.
Comment: Across the planet we're seeing a rise in violence committed by protestors on both extremes of the political spectrum.

One of the world's most famous whistleblowers, Julian Assange, sought by the US for leaking classified documents through his site WikiLeaks on the Iraqi war for almost a decade, has predicted a grim scenario which is "very unstable about technological civilization," claiming it "doesn't go on for long" because of very rapid competition in the wired-up world.
"It can produce very robust artificial intelligences that can be coupled with states. You can see this in the United States and China... these two forces are going to take all the market. And the rapid competition between them with the backing and support of the states behind them, exacerbation of the commercial competition through the geopolitical competition will lead to an uncontrollable desire for growth of the artificial intelligence capacity, leading to a very severe conflict or stultification. That's our biggest threat," he said in the video, recorded before his almost complete blackout and released by the organizers of the World Ethical Data Forum in Barcelona.
According to the WikiLeaks founder, "that geopolitical competition harnessed by the largest artificial intelligence companies" are poised "to ratchet up a process which human beings can no longer control."

20-year-old fourth-year medicine student Lyudmila Serebryakova stepped outside her halls of residence in a well-lit part of town on Wednesday night.
The attack was sudden and brutal - stab wounds to the stomach and neck. Serebryakova, described as a "popular student from a good family", who left her relatives behind in her small village to study, died before the ambulance arrived.
In the aftermath, a panic. Some eyewitnesses told locals that they saw a man in camouflage gear waiting outside the dorms.

Alex King, 42, is charged with 12 counts of possession with intent to supply class A, B and C drugs and is on bail until his trial next year.
King and Russian wife Anna Shapiro fell violently ill whilst dining in the Wiltshire town on Sunday but both have been discharged from hospital.
The glamour model told friends recently that she was a "honeytrap spy" tasked with seducing men for Israeli spy agency Mossad.
The Mirror can also reveal she is a high-class £4,000 a-night escort.
The newlyweds were rushed to hospital in separate ambulances and King was put in an induced coma.
Medics in protective biochemical suits "decontaminated" Anna and a waiter who helped her with King.
Comment: The Sun already removed their original coverage of Shapiro's claims, because she is obviously a publicity-seeker without a shred of credibility. But this latest bit of 'news' adds a whole new dimension of strangeness. A 'former' spy for Mossad? More lies for the sake of publicity? Or is there more to this story than meets the eye? Probably the former. King has a history of pulling pranks. Police are investigating whether or not their story is a hoax and have interviewed the couple. King is NOT in a medically-induced coma.

A Muslim women's activist group called Dawoodi Bohra posted the tweet promoting "khafz" for young girls, which is a kind of female circumcision. One of the group's members, Arwa Sohangpurwala, is seen in the video saying that her own daughters have undergone the procedure. Her daughters, she says, are "growing up as perfectly as other children of their age" and that as a mother, she would "never do anything to harm them".
Comment: ...except mutilating their genitals. That's some 'women's activism'!
Twitter immediately faced backlash for allowing the practice to be promoted on its platform. The social media giant responded by taking down the promoted post, saying that it had been removed for "violation of our policies" - but the original non-promoted tweet was not removed and can still be viewed on Twitter.
Comment: It's pretty remarkable that in our 'modern civilization', adults are still seemingly obsessed with slicing off pieces of their children's genitals - female AND male. What's even more remarkable is that for all the westerners outraged at the practice of FGM, most of them have no problem with MGM (i.e., male genital mutilation, aka circumcision). Barbarism dies slowly.
The customer claims to have bought the compromised mango at a Coles supermarket in New South Wales on Monday, and reported the disturbing find to local police when they noticed the item in it two days later.
"Police have seized the needle for forensic examination. No persons were injured," said Chief Inspector Nigel Webber to the Central Coast Gosford Express Advocate. Coles also said they were investigating the tampering and advised people to cut their fruit before they consume it.
