New research published in the British Medical Journal demonstrates the danger posed to citizens by the most routine police practice of a "legal stop."
Researchers analyzed 12.3 million police interventions from 2012 and found that approximately 55,400 people were injured or killed by cops during legal stop and search incidents in one year. Of this number, about 1,000 were killed, with vast majority dying from gunshot wounds. The remaining 54,400 were hospitalized with serious injuries, mostly from blunt objects.
"On average, an estimated 1 in 291 stops/arrests resulted in hospital-treated injury or death of a suspect or bystander."
Germany has witnessed a fourth violent attack against the public in just one week. On Sunday evening, a failed Syrian asylum-seeker set off a bomb in the Bavarian city of Ansbach, killing himself and injuring several other people. That follows an incident in the German town of Reutlingen where man wielding a machete randomly attacked passersby in the street killing at least one person and wounding two.
RT discussed with experts the recent attacks in Germany and their possible links to terrorism and the refugee crisis in Europe.
The dash-cam from the Highway Patrol trooper shows they began a chase against a suspected drunk driver. Once he was able to pull the car over, police officers open his door and begin to kick him, shouting "stop resisting motherf****r, stop resisting!" as he lay on the ground.
An officer can be heard later stating "he was not a small guy, I couldn't take him by myself" while laughing. Meanwhile, another officer can be heard on the police radio stating "he's a diabetic, he's probably in shock, semiconscious".
Later in the video, the officers find insulin in his pocket and realize he was going through a shock and called for medical attention.
Both of these attacks were carried out by sick individuals who thought that killing random police officers would somehow advance their cause. They could not have been more wrong.
As the Free Thought Project has previously warned, these attacks do nothing to stop police violence against citizens. In fact, it has the exact opposite effect. Now, when cops needlessly kill someone, their actions will be under less scrutiny from the public. All the police have to say now is "Dallas" or "Baton Rouge."
Bavarian Interior Minister Joachim Hermann is now pushing for going so far as to revise the German Constitution so that limits placed on using the military domestically can be removed, allowing the German military to be used inside Germany for "large-scale terrorist situations."
The limits on Germany's military were put in place after World War II and in response to Germany's experience with the Nazi regime with all its excesses, totalitarianism, violence, and genocide.
Hermann stated that Germany is "an absolutely stable democracy" and, as such, Germans should be perfectly fine with having their military deployed on German streets.
Baden-Wurttemberg's Interior Minister also hinted at the possibility of changing the German Constitution in a manner similar to Hermann.
Lloyd K. Rudy, of Eden Prairie, was charged with felony fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct in connection with the incident last Tuesday at the Edina Aquatic Center.
When Rudy was arrested, he had with him a bag containing three sex toys, according to the criminal complaint filed in Hennepin County District Court.
Rudy, wearing a bathing suit, sunglasses and a ball cap, was handcuffed, arrested and jailed that afternoon. He was released three days later after posting bond.
He also drugged a young woman at the freshman "Preview" during their overnight stay at Hewett Hall in Normal, where police allege the man's 19-year-old son Shawn Childs Jr. repeatedly raped the girl the same evening, the Chicago Tribune reports.
First Assistant State's Attorney Adam Ghrist told McLean County Circuit Court on Thursday that the men were staying in the dorms as part of the two-day orientation, designed to allow incoming freshman to familiarize themselves with campus, sign up for classes and meet other students and staff before school starts in August.
"The elder Childs offered to go out and purchase alcohol for the students who were minors, and returned with alcohol from a nearby store, said Ghrist. The alleged victim told police she saw Childs Sr. put a pill in her soda that she then drank," according to the news site.
The girl left the gathering around 10 p.m. because she felt sick, and told police Childs Jr. followed her to her room. "In her description of the assault, the woman said the suspect raped her twice and barred her from leaving the room, Ghrist said in court." The woman reported the rape to police the next day.
The act wasn't a desperate plot from a defense attorney aiming to get his client off, but rather a directive handed down by District Judge Richard Scotti. According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, members of the jury said they wouldn't be capable of deciding the case fair and impartially because of the way that Morgan looked. One juror was immediately dismissed after saying that she read about Morgan's makeup in the local news.
Each day a professional cosmetologist meets Morgan prior to the jury being brought into the courtroom and applies his makeup. It is then removed before he returns to the county jail.
Morgan is being charged with robbery after he allegedly stole a man's motorcycle at gunpoint. He also faces the death penalty in a different case he is accused of killing a 75-year-old woman days before the robbery. They say he broke into her home and hit her over the head with his gun so hard that the trigger guard broke on the weapon. He then allegedly shot her in the back of the head.

"The twelfth person injured as result of the explosion has been delivered [to the hospital]. His condition is grave," the representative told RIA Novosti.
Six people have been critically injured in an arms factory explosion in the eastern Azerbaijan city of Shirvan, the Ministry of Healthcare of Azerbaijan Republic told RIA Novosti on Tuesday.
The victims have been transported to the Shirvan central hospital, their condition assessed as grave, the ministry's press service said.
Witnesses described hearing a loud explosion, followed by fire and intermittent blasts at the factory's warehouse facilities, said to belong to the Ministry of Defense Industry of Azerbaijan.
Residents of nearby areas were evacuated.
Comment: Twenty people are now in hospital. While a criminal investigation is said to have been launched, the defense ministry says the fire was initially caused by sparks ignited through the scrapping of old weapons. Azerbaijan is one of the few countries (including Russia and Iran) who spoke out in support of the Turkish government during the attempted coup last week.
Update: Azeri authorities say two people were killed in the explosion.
Article 5, Section 4 of the DNC Charter mandates the following:
