A former Northern California police officer was arrested Thursday on suspicion of a series of sexual assaults he is accused of committing while working at two departments, prosecutors said.

Noah White Winchester, 31, was taken into custody near his home in Stockton by county investigators on charges that he sexually assaulted five victims while on duty and working as an officer, said San Mateo County Dist. Atty. Steve Wagstaffe.

Winchester was formerly employed with the Los Rios Community College District in Sacramento and the San Mateo Police Department.

Winchester faces 22 felony charges, including kidnapping with intent to commit rape, rape, sexual penetration and oral copulation under color of authority, sexual battery, criminal threats and forcible sex offenses, Wagstaffe said.

Winchester is accused of sexually assaulting the victims between July 2, 2013, and Oct. 19, 2015, Wagstaffe said.

Police union: Cop who shot Charles Kinsey meant to shoot autistic man who was holding toy truck

The North Miami police officer who shot unarmed mental health worker Charles Kinsey did so accidentally - he was actually aiming at Kinsey's autistic charge who was holding what turned out to be a toy truck, the police union representing the officer said.

The North Miami, Florida officers Kinsey encountered thought that his life was in danger because his 23-year-old autistic charge, "Rinaldo," was holding an object thought to be a gun in his hands, John Rivera, president of the Dade County Police Benevolent Association, said during a Thursday press conference.


Comment: How does someone holding a toy truck constitute a threat to life? At what point do officers have to held responsible for their complete lack of ability to discern their surrounding and properly understand when their life is actually being threatened? As long as police associations continue to back cops who shoot first and ask questions later, these kinds of horrible situations will continue to occur. Force police to be accountable for their actions, and you'll most likely see less people shot for no reason other than holding an object in your hands.


An officer aimed at Rinaldo and fired three rounds from a rifle, but ended up wounding Kinsey instead, Rivera said.

Cell phone video of the incident shows Kinsey lying on his back with his arms stretched in the air, repeatedly explaining the situation and asking officers not to fire, but Rivera says that officers couldn't hear his pleas.

"Mr. Kinsey did everything right," Rivera told reporters at the union's offices. "What the officer didn't know [were] the white individual's intentions. He thought Mr. Kinsey was about to be killed."

Canada bans child sex offenders from using the internet

In its seven-to-two ruling, the Supreme Court banned internet access to anyone convicted of sexual offenses against minors before 2012.
Canada's Supreme Court acted to protect children in the fast-growing world of cyberspace, enabling judges to prohibit those convicted of sexual offenses against minors from using the internet.

"The record demonstrates that the internet is increasingly being used to sexually offend against young people and that sex offenders who target children are more likely to re-offend," Justice Andromache Karakatsanis wrote for the majority in a hundred-page ruling.

The case concerned incest and child pornography. The accused man, sentenced to nine years in prison in 2013 by a court in British Columbia, had abused his daughter between 2008 and 2011.

In addition to upholding his prison sentence, the court prohibited him from accessing the internet, retroactively applying a provision to the criminal code added after the offenses took place.

Comment: It remains to be seen if this law will have any impact on offending rates. How will it be enforced? Curiously, Canada takes a seemingly harsh stance on sexual offenses against minors yet passes the following law? What a disconnect!

Russian ban on flights to Turkey lifted

With the political situation stabilizing after the attempted coup in Turkey, Russia has lifted the restrictions on its citizens from flying to the country. The Russian Transport Ministry said Turkish authorities have fulfilled all the requirements for the travel ban to be lifted.

"After the Turks assured us about increased security measures for Russians in the country's airports and territory, it was decided to resume regular flights for all airlines for all national carriers flying from Russia to Turkey. This includes transit flights from third countries." the ministry said.

Russia's biggest airline Aeroflot was ordered to halt ticket sales to Russians traveling to Turkey starting July 16 until the political situation in the country improved. The company sent empty planes to the country to return Russians back home.

A group within the Turkish military attempted to stage a coup on Friday night, using tanks and helicopters. The conspiracy failed, as they didn't manage to capture any senior government officials and couldn't win wide support from the Turkish military.

At least 265 people were killed, including 104 pro-coup participants, while 1,440 people were injured in the military action in the capital, Ankara, and the country's largest city, Istanbul.

There were no Russian casualties as a result of the unrest, according to officials.

Comment: That was quick. In its compliance, Turkey is wanting two things: a stronger Russian option, and a reboot of its tourism capital. It also wants to appear back to normal, but that would be a harder sell, given the explosive amount of controversy surrounding the military coup.

Jon Stewart joined Stephen Colbert on the 'Late Show' Thursday to share his thoughts on the Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and his supporters in an impassioned speech that has quickly gone viral.

In one of his first appearances since his 'Daily Show' retirement, Stewart pulled no punches. He called out the Republican candidate, to whom he referred as an "angry groundhog" for his RNC speech. He said Trump was merely "vomit[ing] on everyone for an hour."

Stewart also had harsh words for Trump supporters who claim to want to 'take back' America. "This country isn't yours. You don't own it!" he said. "You don't own patriotism, you don't own Christianity. You sure as hell don't own respect for military, police and firefighters." He singled out the hypocrisy he saw among RNC attendees who had campaigned against legislation providing health care support for 9/11 first responders.

Charges of resisting arrest against her were later dismissed.
Officials are investigating an Austin police officer's violent arrest of an African-American elementary school teacher who was twice thrown to the ground during a traffic stop for speeding and comments by a second officer who told her police are sometimes wary of blacks because of their "violent tendencies."

Video from the previously unreported June 2015 incident was obtained by the American-Statesman and KVUE-TV this week. The video shows the traffic stop escalating rapidly in the seven seconds from when officer Bryan Richter, who is white, first gives a command to 26-year-old Breaion King to close her car door to when he forcibly removes her from the driver's seat, pulls her across a vacant parking space and hurls her to the asphalt.

Richter wrote in his report of the incident that he acted quickly because King demonstrated an "uncooperative attitude" and was "reaching for the front passenger side of the vehicle." He didn't know whether she had a weapon, he wrote. He said King resisted by pulling away from him and wrapping her hands and arms around the steering wheel.

Former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke announced Friday on his website that he plans to run for U.S. Senate in Louisiana.

"I'm proud to announce my candidacy for the United States Senate," Duke said in a video. "I believe in equal rights for all and respect for all Americans. However, what makes me different is I also demand respect for the rights and heritage of European Americans."

Duke's announcement came as the state is grappling with deep racial tensions after the shooting death of a black man by white police officers and the killing of three law enforcement officers by a black man. It also came one day after Donald Trump accepted the GOP nomination for president.

Duke said in the video, "I'm overjoyed to see Donald Trump and most Americans embrace most of the issues that I've championed for years. My slogan remains America first."

Comment: A racist, convicted felon and tax dodger? He should fit right in in Washington.

In a rare move that actually protects and serves the community, police turned in one of their own after dashcam audio caught him beating a homeless suspect in handcuffs.

Officer Christopher Eisen was put behind bars after being arrested on a felony battery charge. He is now on unpaid leave while the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) investigates the matter.

"You threaten my (expletive) family. I'll (expletive) kill you," Eisen can be heard saying on the dashcam video.

Immediately after, he is heard punching the handcuffed suspect, who was bruised and bloodied by the assault. Eisen had picked up the homeless man for "some kind of disturbance," according to the local WFTV9 station.

"You threaten my (expletive) family again. Do it again. Get in the (expletive) car," Eisen said again before transporting the victim to the hospital.

There is an obvious connection between terrorist attacks in Europe and the refugee crisis rattling the continent since 2015, the Hungarian prime minister said as his government launched a media campaign aimed at rejecting EU refugee quotas.

"It is clear as two and two makes four, it is plain as day. There is an obvious connection [between terror attacks and the migrant crisis]," Viktor Orban told reporters after a meeting of the Visegrad Four group of central European leaders in Warsaw on Thursday.

"If somebody denies this connection then, in fact, this person harms the safety of European citizens," he said, as cited by Reuters.

Hungary is among several central and eastern EU members - including Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Poland - that are highly skeptical of Brussels' handling of the migrant crisis.

Comment: If the EU, including Hungary, did not engage in wars in the Middle East and North Africa there would be no refugee crisis to campaign against. Europe's refugee crisis is a means to furthering the elite's fascist agenda

Teachers have been advised to no longer use the terms 'mum' or 'dad' and young boys are being encouraged to dress up as girls in new education guidelines.

The instructions have been released by the NSW teachers' union on ways to address LGBTI issues within the school environment, reported The Daily Telegraph.

The latest guidelines for 'non-gender-specific free play,' come in the wake of a string of drastic political correctness measures taken by Australian schools.

On Tuesday, teachers at the exclusive public school, Cheltenham Girls High School in north-west Sydney, were asked to refer to their pupils with gender-neutral language such as 'students'.
