American values? USS Bremerton sub commander relieved from duty for hiring prostitutes

Capt. Travis Zettel was relieved as commanding officer of the USS Bremerton in August following a loss of confidence in his ability to command, according to the Navy.
The commander of the USS Bremerton was relieved of duty last summer after admitting to Navy investigators he paid for "female accompaniment" while the boat was in port in the Philippines.

Capt. Travis Zettel was relieved of duty in August following a loss of confidence in his ability to command the Los Angeles-class fast attack submarine, which is now tied up in Bremerton for decommissioning.

The incident occurred March 1 while the sub was ported in Subic Bay, according to documents released to the Kitsap Sun under a federal Freedom of Information Act request. NCIS agents interviewed a tipster to the Department of Defense Inspector General's hotline that Zettel had told him and another sailor at a hotel pool that Zettel had "requested/ordered ten girls to arrive at the hotel." Later, at dinner, the sailor saw Zettel with around 10 "provocatively dressed females outside the front door of the hotel."

Police responding to active shooter situation at UPS warehouse in Gloucester County, New Jersey

Nearby schools are locked down amid a major police presence outside the UPS site. Police cars surrounded the loading dock and armed officers could be be seen crouching behind one of the vehicles.
Police have responded to an "active shooter situation" at a UPS facility in Gloucester County.

There is no immediate word on whether there are any casualties.

The incident was reported at 8:30 a.m. at the sprawling facility at 200 Birch Creek Road, Gloucester County spokeswoman Debra Sellitto said.

She said the incident was contained to the facility, and "all other businesses and areas within the community are secure."

Thirty-two UPS employees have been relocated to a nearby Holiday Inn, Sellitto said in a statement.

The size of the building's entire workforce was not immediately known.

Travel restrictions remain in effect on Center Square and Birch Creek roads, the statement said.

Rome's city council in battle with Catholic church over coins retrieved from Trevi fountain

A row has broken out between the mayor of Rome and the Roman Catholic Church over what should happen to coins retrieved from the Trevi fountain.

Every year nearly €1.5m (£1.3m) is fished out of the famous landmark. It is traditionally given to a Catholic charity to help the destitute.

But now Mayor Virginia Raggi wants the money spent on the city's crumbling infrastructure instead.

The Catholic charity Caritas says the loss of income will hit the poor.

"We did not foresee this outcome," Caritas director Father Benoni Ambarus told Avvenire, the newspaper of the Italian bishops' conference. "I still hope it will not be final."

The newspaper ran a scathing article on the move in its Saturday edition, headlined "Money taken from the poorest".

Bill Maher on Sunday was attacked on a giant billboard that accuses him of not being "real" or "politically incorrect," but a liberal apparatchik of prevailing wisdom ahead of the return of his HBO show, Real Time, on Friday.

The billboard, at the corner of La Cienega Boulevard and Holloway Drive in West Hollywood, is the work of a group of conservative street artists known as The Faction, who previously peppered the Hollywood Walk of Fame with dozens of faux Donald Trump stars to make up for the real one that the president's detractors have destroyed on multiple occasions.

Comment: Comparing Bill Maher to an NPC seems pretty accurate from these seats! He may deviate on a few issues, but overall he's little more than a liberal mouthpiece with an attitude, just another late night talk show host clone. Same opinions. Same 'edgy' content. Same script.

A court in London has sentenced a British and Israeli cyber criminal Daniel Kaye aka "BestBuy and Popopret" to two years and eight months in prison for conducting large scale DDoS attacks on Lonestar Cell MTN disrupting the country's Internet and causing tens of millions of dollars in damages.

Kaye (30) was charged for DDoS attacks against British and German organizations using millions of Mirai botnets. Some of his targets in Britain included Lloyds Bank, Bank of Scotland and Barclays who suffered attacks for consecutive two days and caused a major service outage.

It all started in October 2015 when hackers began using Mirai botnet to target businesses, colleges, and government institutions. The DDoS attacks on Lonestar Cell MTN (a telecom firm responsible for providing internet service across Liberia through an undersea ACE fiber cable), however, were so powerful that it crippled the Internet in the entire county.

Nobel Prize-winning scientist James Watson has been stripped of his honorary titles at the laboratory he once led after doubling down on racist comments.

Watson, who discovered DNA's double helix structure alongside Francis Crick and Rosalind Franklin in the 1950s, said that genes cause a difference on IQ tests between blacks and whites, in a recent PBS documentary "American Masters: Decoding Watson."

The leaders of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory on Long Island said in a statement his comments were "reprehensible, unsupported by science."

Comment: Were Watson's comments actually racist? They certainly seem to walk the line. But if there is an actual biological basis for IQ, shouldn't that be something that is talked about rather than simply stripping titles from anyone who dares to bring it up?

Since January 1, neither CNN nor MSNBC has booked a single "Angel Mom" - mothers of children brutally murdered by illegal aliens - as guests on their networks, per an analysis conducted by the Republican National Committee (RNC).

The RNC told Breitbart News it has tracked both networks since the beginning of the year as they intensely bash President Donald Trump over the government shutdown that is now the longest ever in the history of the United States. Since the turn of the year to 2019 from 2018, neither network has conducted a single interview with any family members of victims of illegal alien crimes.

The Angel Moms, or Angel Families, are the surviving family members of those Americans who were tragically killed by illegal aliens. Their plight is a particularly vivid illustration of the effects of unfettered illegal immigration. Had the federal government enforced immigration law and removed the illegal aliens who committed these heinous crimes before they committed them, the crimes never would have happened and their loved ones would presumably still be alive today.

In his Oval Office address to the nation last week, President Donald Trump highlighted just how pervasive illegal immigration crime is in the United States by citing statistics of how many rapes and killings in which illegal aliens have been involved in just the past year.

Comment: Not surprising. Anything that clashes with the globalist agenda of open borders is shoved under the rug.

The mayor of Poland's northern city of Gdansk, who was critically injured by a knifeman during a charity concert performance, has succumbed to his wounds in hospital, a medical official has said.

Mayor Pawel Adamowicz was on Sunday stabbed several times by a man claiming to have been wrongfully accused and jailed. Known only as Stefan W., the attacker ran to the stage at an annual charity event collecting money for Polish medical facilities. The assault took place right in front of a crowd of people. The knifeman then grabbed the microphone, accusing the mayor's party, The Civil Platform, of his alleged ordeal.

The 53-year-old Adamowicz suffered a serious injury to the heart as well as cuts to his diaphragm and abdominal organs and had to be resuscitated right on stage before being hospitalized. He underwent emergency surgery and was placed on life support "in a very critical condition," Jerzy Karpinski, a physician with the Gdansk regional health department, told the Polish PAP news agency. Adamowicz succumbed to his injuries on Monday.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo gave a major and extremely embarrassing foreign policy speech in Cairo on Thursday, which is probably inconsequential since his major talking points departed from the positions of his president, Trump. Also, aside from some generals and kings and princes, nobody in the region agrees with anything he said.

Pompeo's message to Egypt is that the US plays a positive role in the Middle East and that Obama was wrong to attempt to get out of the region and re-balance toward the Pacific Rim. The US, Pompeo implied, should have taken a stronger hand during the Arab Spring to keep the Muslim religious Right from coming to power, and should have forestalled the rise of ISIL in Iraq and Syria by staying in Iraq. The US, he said, does not want to occupy any country against its will, in contrast to Iran. (Fact check on Pompeo: Iran is not occupying any countries in the Middle East but has given some military assistance to Syria at the request of Damascus. The US aggressively invaded Iraq without a casus belli and occupied it for nearly a decade against its will.) Pompeo attempted to whip up anti-Iran sentiments as part of his vision of a grand alliance of the US and the Arab world (and, shhh, Israel) against Iran and Hizbullah.

Comment: US foreign policy in the Middle East has been so consistently destructive for so many years that it would require a lot ignorance to view it any other way (assuming one doesn't have a financial or political interest in seeing Middle Eastern populations having their lives rendered asunder and subject to mass Chaos).

Growing up, Cat Wehunt said her family was close, but looking back on her life, the 26-year-old could not remember a time where sexual abuse didn't exist in her life.

"I knew that I felt violated, I knew that my body felt violated, but I just didn't know how or what it meant or why it was happening to me," she explained.

Wehunt told a crowd seated at Greenville Health System Thursday that at 12 years old she was raped, and at 14 she had been sold for sex by her older cousin.

Although he was her trafficker, she said she still trusted him because he was family.
