Jamieson -- Heidi Kirschbaum didn't believe the details of the phone call were real.

Or, maybe it was a joke.

But Heidi's sister-in-law, Charlan, who was down at the family farm, wasn't joking.

"It wasn't alive when we saw it," Kirschbaum said. "But it had one neck, two ears and four eyes."

Kirscbhaum told KBOI 2News that a two-headed calf was born on the family farm in Jamieson, Ore., in Malheur County on Monday. When Heidi and the rest of the family arrived in the field, the calf was already dead. The calf's mother is doing fine.

"You do a double-take and say, wait a minute, whoa," she said.

Word has spread throughout the farming community about the two-headed calf -- especially after kindergarten class. Heidi's daughter, Holly, asked if she could share the calf for show and tell.

"We brought pictures to her class -- the kids and the teacher really enjoyed it," she said.

The family isn't sure what it plans to do with the head. It's now ice cold in a freezer at the family farm.

"We know it doesn't happen very often, but it happened to us," she said.

Fire, explosions at Danlin plant near Thomas, Oklahoma

Custer County - A fire followed by explosions near the town of Thomas in Custer County caused evacuations Wednesday night.

Police have confirmed that the explosions happened at the Danlin facility near Thomas.

Just after midnight a News 9 photographer that is on the scene reported large flames and explosions.

Multiple agencies in the area are assisting the Thomas Fire Department as they work to contain the fire.

An employee for the Thomas Fire Department told News 9 that evacuations have been ordered for the immediate area.

A representative for Danlin is on the scene and stated that the last employee left the plant between 6:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

At this time there have been no reports of injuries and a cause is unknown.

Ruben and Amber Fox, both 23, were arrested Monday in Raeford, N.C. Police removed two dogs and three cats from the couple's home.

A filthy Fort Bragg soldier and his wife remained locked up Tuesday after having sex with dogs and sharing clips of the encounters online, cops said.

Ruben and Amber Fox, both 23, were caught Monday in Raeford, N.C., south of the Army base.

Their capture followed an investigation that culminated two weeks ago, when Fairfax County authorities in Virginia alerted Raeford about the criminal activity, police Maj. Marc Godwin told the Daily News.

The couple has been charged with bestiality, disseminating obscene materials and conspiracy.

Amber Fox was additionally charged with soliciting a crime against nature, police said.

The discovery could help solve cold cases from the late '50s and early '70s.

A submerged Camaro matches the description of a vehicle that went missing 1970 along with three teenagers. The other, a Chevrolet, has been missing along with two people since the late 1950s, the Daily Elk Citian reported.

"It's just been under water for 40 years. It's a mucky mess," Sheriff Bruce Peoples of Custer County told KWEY radio.

Dive teams found the rusty cars last week while training with sonar in the lake, said Betsy Randolph, an Oklahoma Highway Patrol spokeswoman.

"So they went back and did a scheduled dive today and were going to recover the cars," she said. "When they pulled the cars out of the water, the first one that came out, they found bones in the car."

When they attempted to protest, the Israeli army began shooting tear gas, rubber coated steel bullets towards the crowd. They then began beating men, women and children with batons and sprayed them with pepper spray.

Nearly two million Syrians have fled the conflict in their homeland, heading mostly for neighbouring countries. The lucky ones manage to make it to West European countries such as France. But the struggle is not over when they arrive.

From her new home in central France, Lina K. has been obsessively monitoring the situation in her homeland. "When we see what's happening in Syria, we thank God everyday for our good luck, for the chance to be in France," she says.

The 42-year-old mother of three left the northern Syrian city of Aleppo in early 2012 as the conflict between supporters and opponents of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad was turning into a brutal civil war.

Along with her husband and kids, Lina - who did not want her real name revealed - fled her comfortable home in the bustling Syrian commercial capital, abandoning family, friends and cherished memories of a lifestyle that has all but disappeared these days.

Amid the parties and fun of Super Bowl 2013, authorities say, there is a dark underworld of girls and women being forced into the sex trade. Sitting in the festive lobby of a New Orleans hotel, festooned with San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens decorations, Clemmie Greenlee, a former victim of sex trafficking from Nashville, recalled being brought to cities around the South to prostitute for those attending such large-scale events.

For Greenlee's pimps, the influx of people provided a massive money-making opportunity.

"When they come to these kinds of events, the first thing you're told is how many you're gonna perform a day," she said Friday. "You've got to go through 25 men a day, or you're going through 50 of them. When they give you that number, you better make that number."

Having been abducted and gang-raped by her captors at age 12, Greenlee said, she was one of about eight girls controlled by a ring of pimps, men who injected them with heroin and, at times, kept them handcuffed to beds. For trying to run away, she was once stabbed in the back.

Now 53, Greenlee works at Eden House in Uptown New Orleans, the first shelter for sex-trafficking victims in Louisiana; the center opened in October 2012.

"If you don't make that number (of sex customers), you're going to dearly, dearly, severely pay for it," Greenlee said. "I mean with beatings, I mean with over and over rapings. With just straight torture. The worst torture they put on you is when they make you watch the other girl get tortured because of your mistake."

A double-decker bus collided with a passenger train in Canada's capital on Wednesday, ripping off the front of the bus and killing six people. Witnesses said the bus went through a closed crossing barrier, and passengers said they screamed "Stop, stop!" at the driver just before impact.

Officials said 30 people were injured, 10 critically, at the peak of Ottawa's morning rush hour. The cause of the crash was not yet clear, said John Manconi, from bus operator OC Transpo.

It was Canada's second major rail accident this year, after an oil train derailed and exploded in a Quebec town in July, killing 47 people.

Tanner Trepanier, who was on the bus, said passengers could see the train bearing down on them as they approached the crossing.

"People started screaming, 'Stop, stop!' because they could see the train coming down the track," Trepanier said.

The FBI has just released its Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) data for 2012, which complies arrest data for the whole of the USA. While the numbers have not changed much from the year before, the absolute numbers are stunning and I doubt most Americans are aware of how elevated and skewed they actually are.

The most stunning figure is that law enforcement made an estimated 12.2 million arrests in 2012. That's an arrest almost every two seconds of every single day. That's straight up horrifying. Of these arrests, only 521,196 were for violent crimes.

This is where the war on drugs really proves itself as a complete and total ridiculous failure and waste of money and resources, not to mention the fact that it destroys the lives of individuals and communities for no good reason.

Let's get into some details on the drug war. The total number of drug arrests in 2012 was 1.56 million, and an an absolutely absurd 82% of those arrests were for possession alone, as opposed to sales/manufacturing. It gets even crazier. Of the total drug related arrests, a shocking 42% were for mere marijuana possession, a substance that my adopted home state of Colorado has just legalized along with Washington. So an American is arrested for marijuana possession every 48 seconds in this country. This is a complete and total disgrace and needs to change immediately. It's also a large reason why the United States has 5% of the World's Population, yet 25% of its Prisoners.

A 'Church of the Meteorite' has been set up in the Russian city of Chelyabinsk. Its members worship the space rock which streaked across the sky and rocked the region in February, injuring over 1,600 people, and causing damage and furor on the ground.

While scientists have long confirmed that the space rock that hit Russia's Urals Mountains on February 15 is "an ordinary chondrite" (the most common type of meteorite that falls to Earth), the founder of the Church of the Chelyabinsk Meteorite believes it contains "a set of moral and legal norms that will help people live at a new stage of spiritual knowledge development."

Paranormalist Andrey Breyvichko says the meteorite, estimated at 10,000 metric tons, is so powerful it could actually trigger the Apocalypse.

The biggest of the seven major chunks that the giant rock fragmented into was discovered in the local Lake Chebarkul, forming an ice-hole 8 meters in diameter. An operation to recover it from the lake began on September 10, due to be completed by September 25. The chunk is covered by about 2.5 meters of sediments and is estimated to be 30 to 100cm long, weighing about 600kg.
