Russian military delivers first humanitarian aid to Raqqa, left in ruins by US-led coalition

russian aid iraq
Russian military forces have delivered food and provided medical assistance to the residents of Raqqa in the first such humanitarian mission aimed at helping civilians who are struggling to survive in the city scarred by war.

The first column of Russian military trucks loaded with food and medical supplies entered the capital of Syria's northern province on Monday.

Once designated as the unofficial capital of the notorious Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS), the city was recaptured by the US-backed Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces in 2017 after spending three years under extremist rule. However, what was hailed as "liberation" in the West turned into misery for the locals, as two-thirds of Raqqa was virtually destroyed in a massive bombing campaign launched by the US-led coalition during a four-month battle for the city, with corpses left rotting in the streets.

"In 2017, the social and economic infrastructure of Raqqa was totally destroyed in a US-led coalition's operation aimed at liberating it," Vladimir Varnavsky, an officer with the Russian Reconciliation Center, who arrived in Raqqa with the convoy, told journalists. "The airstrikes resulted in the deaths of thousands of civilians."

Central banks worldwide buying up massive amounts of gold in a shift away from US dollar - Goldman Sachs

Gold prices will climb to $1,600 per ounce over the next year, Wall Street bank Goldman Sachs projects. It says that central banks are consuming a fifth of the global supply of the yellow metal.

"De-dollarization in central banks - demand from central banks for gold is biggest since the Nixon era, eating up 20 percent of global supply," the head of global commodities research at Goldman, Jeff Currie, told Bloomberg. "I am going to like gold better than bonds because the bonds won't reflect that de-dollarization."

Citing "fear-driven demand" for the precious metal, Goldman analysts said last week that investors should diversify their long-term bond holdings with gold.

Steve Harvey gave possibly the largest eye roll ever after he posed a question to one of the Miss Universe contestants about climate change at the 2019 pageant.

It happened Sunday night when 62-year-old host was asking Miss South Africa, Zozibini Tunzi, if the "leaders of today" were doing enough to stop climate change, per Fox News in a piece published Monday.

"Are leaders of today doing enough to protect future generations for climate change," Harvey said. "If not, what else should they be doing?"

Reddit hiring NATO shills to control narrative

reddit deep state
I wrote a short piece a few days ago about Reddit banning users for posting the leaked NHS documents. (Spreading anti-Russian propaganda in the process).

Previously, we have also covered Reddit making politically motivated decisions - such as quarantining boards dedicated to Donald Trump and 9/11.

It turns out there's a very simple explanation for that, Reddit's "director of policy" was previously in the pay of the US Deep State.

This was brought to our attention by Ian56 on twitter:

In 2017 Reddit hired Jessica Ashooh as their "Director of Policy". Her LinkedIn page shows her previous employment was "Deputy Director, Middle East Strategy Task Force" at the Atlantic Council.

The report on which Reddit based their decision to ban users as part of a "Russian campaign" was written by Ben Nimmo, who also works for the Atlantic Council (and the Integrity Initiative).

China will remove US technology from government computers

The directive of China no longer using US technology for government computers is expected to hurt US giants HP, Dell and Microsoft. After Washington imposes restrictions on Chinese company Huawei, Beijing is preparing to adopt countermeasures package.

China has ordered all foreign components removed from the computers of government agencies and public institutions. The move is expected to negatively impact companies such as HP, Dell, and Microsoft.

While most Chinese government computers are Lenovo-branded, components such as hardware, chips, and operating systems are often North American.

Analysts polled by the Financial Times estimate that the US giants profit about $150 billion annually from the Chinese market, including public and private customers.

The candidate for the next prime minister of Finland, Sanna Marin.
Just last month Sanna Marin turned 34. This week she is slated to become the world's youngest prime minister, after the Finnish parliament confirms her nomination.

Marin will take over the reins of Finland after her former boss, 57-year-old Antti Rinne, announced last week that he would be stepping down. Her candidacy was put forward by the Social Democrats (SDP), with four other members of the ruling coalition already agreeing to fast-track her nomination so that she could represent Finland at an EU summit on Thursday. Missing the meeting of European leaders would be a bit awkward, considering Finland currently holds the rotating presidency in the union.

Farmers across NSW have become the targets of abusive letters urging them to 'use a bullet' on themselves if they 'can't handle' the drought.

Several residents in Dubbo, Walgett and Peak Hill in the state's western region reported receiving the disturbing notes last month, police said.

One of the letters, obtained by The Daily Telegraph, had been typed in a large font on white paper and is believed to have been hand delivered.

'Hey loser, no one cares that you have to send livestock to slaughter,' the note states.

Comment: Many practicing Vegans found out in a hard way that Veganism is not good for the health in the long run. There are many vegan influencers who find meat is beneficial and switched their diet. There are many fanatics that go to extremes to commit crime to punish non-vegans. There are others who find them selves in jail for nutritional neglect of their children.

'Hard to digest': Uber's 1st US safety report finds almost 6,000 sexual assaults reported in 2 years

Uber has published its first safety report detailing the number of serious crimes committed by both drivers and riders that use the platform. "The numbers are jarring and hard to digest," the firm's chief legal officer said.

According to the self-produced report, in 2017, Uber received 2,936 reports of sexual assault in the US, with that number jumping to 3,045 in 2018. Amidst the startling figures are 229 reports of rape in 2017 and 235 reports of rape in 2018. Drivers reported sexual assaults at roughly the same rate as passengers though in 92 percent of the reported rapes the passenger was the victim.

In addition to sexual assaults of varying severity, there were also nine murders and 58 people killed in car crashes. There was no information provided from the 65 countries outside the US where the ridesharing platform operates.

Kentucky: Multiple cops arrested for running a steroid ring

cop dealing steroids
As the Free Thought Project reports on a regular basis, cops across the country are often caught committing the same crimes for which they routinely kidnap and cage people. From stealing from charities to selling drugs they steal from their jobs as cops, many police officers have proven to be as bad or worse than than the criminals from which they claim to protect society. The following instance out of Kentucky of a cop running a steroid ring highlights this hypocrisy quite well.

Below is a post from Scott County deputy Joe Baker from earlier this year in which he is bragging about kidnapping and caging people for possessing cannabis.

He also arrested his own sister for drugs two years ago.

What makes these arrests particularly hypocritical is the fact that deputy Baker, himself, was just arrested last week on similar charges. Earlier this year, Scott County Sheriff Jerry Goodin asked Indiana State Police to investigate after receiving a tip that Deputy Joe Baker and Reserve Officer Phil Thomas were involved in dealing illegal steroids.
