Documents show that an innocent man was 'mistakenly' imprisoned and tortured at Guantanamo Bay for 13 years

Guantanamo Bay

After 13 years of holding him in an inhumane and lawless prison,
US officials admitted that Mustafa al-Aziz al-Shamiri should have never been in Guantanamo Bay, and that he was detained as the result of a mistaken identity.

"It was previously assessed that YM-434 [al-Shamiri] also was an al-Qa'ida facilitator or courier, as well as a trainer, but we now judge that these activities were carried out by other known extremists with names or aliases similar to YM-434's," a newly declassified document revealed.

"From the onset, he has demonstrated a consistent positive attitude towards life after Gitmo. He has a strong desire to obtain an education in order to provide for a future spouse that his family has already located for him," al-Shamiri's personal representative told reporters.

Comment: So it took 13 years - 13 years! - for the U.S. government to determine that Mustafa al-Aziz al-Shamiri was an innocent man, and not deserving of the imprisonment, degradation, and torture that this soul was subject to. Does anyone on God's good Earth still really think that Guantanamo was established to employ justice, or security? No. Its whole raison d'etre is to maintain the pretense of fighting a legitimate 'war on terror,' instilling terror on citizens (look what we can do to you with impunity!), and making the American people ultimately complicit in the barbarous acts of its government. Guantanamo Bay should not only be shut down, but everyone having anything to do with its dealings (post-911) should be tried and imprisoned for the crimes that have been perpetrated there -Including our legislative and executive branches or government. That would be real justice.

American university president urges students to 'end Muslims'

Falwell
© AFPIslamophobian: Dr. Jerry Falwell, Jr, President of Liberty University
The president of a university in the US state of Virginia has urged college students there to be armed and kill Muslims following the recent mass shooting in California.

"I've always thought if more good people had concealed-carry permits, then we could end those Muslims before they walk in and kill," said Jerry Falwell, Jr., president of the Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.

"I just wanted to take this opportunity to encourage all of you to get your permit. We offer a free course," Falwell told a large formal assembly at the school on Friday. "Let's teach them a lesson if they ever show up here."

The offensive comments came after Muslim communities in the US condemned Wednesday's massacre in San Bernardino, California, urging the public not to blame Islam or Muslims.

Comment: Mr. Falwell is an example of a societal trigger in motion, a perfect upshot of the ramp up of Islamophobia in the US.

Publicized circumstances of and around the San Bernardino shootings are extremely suspicious and follow a pattern of manipulation and distraction to achieve a political and social end, typically employing manipulated patsies. The verdict is still out on this latest tragedy but it smacks of false flag distraction, sucking up media attention for political purposes. Mr. Falwell is less than astute. Reckless words, indeed.

When Susan Rosalsky was hired as an English instructor at SUNY Orange last year, she was elated. After several years of unemployment, she and her husband, Michael Trost, had been eating through their savings and 401Ks. Better yet, the job came with good health insurance through New York's Empire Plan and United Healthcare. Rosalsky signed herself, Trost, and their daughter up for the plan.

"I thought we were out of [hot] water," she said.

Denver deputy given a 14 month paid vacation after assaulting a drunken inmate

Kyle Askin
Deputy Thomas Ford of the Denver Sheriff's Department, who was fired in August 2014 for excessive force after slugging a drunken, foul-mouthed prisoner, will be reinstated to his job, thanks to a decision by the Career Service Board.

In keeping with established policy, Ford's termination will be revised to a paid suspension. This means, in effect, that the "punishment" for Ford's act of aggravated assault would be a 14-month paid vacation. Two other deputies involved in the incident, including one who covered up Ford's act of aggravated assault by refusing to report it, were reinstated by the Career Service Board last month.

An investigation of the incident by Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey resulted in a ruling that Deputy Ford's attack was "justified" because of profane and provocative language used by the detainee, Kyle Askins, and because he stood up when approached by the enraged deputy. Ford and several others on the scene, including a registered nurse, claimed that Askins - impatiently waiting to be processed at Denver's Downtown Detention Center - emitted a string of racial slurs, taunts, and supposed threats at the black deputy.

Profiting from terror: Business is booming for US arms makers

war victims
"WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives."

-Two-time Medal of Honor recipient, Major General Smedley Butler, USMC
The United States is dropping bombs faster than the military industrial complex can manufacture them. The spike in demand for weapons of war since the attacks in Paris have sent stock prices and arms sales through the roof.

According to US officials, arms manufacturers have added shifts and hired workers, but they warn that this may not be enough to keep up with the world's demand for weapons of mass destruction.

As the US sends tens of thousands of warheads to Saudi Arabia so they can bomb schools and hospitals in Yemen, they are placing a strain on domestic production. Since the terror attacks in Paris, American forces have increased their efforts and have begun dropping 453 bombs a day in Iraq and Syria.

Police say they killed a razor-wielding man suspected in a bank robbery early Saturday.

Officers responded to the Bank of America branch on Alton Road after a 911 caller said a suspect was armed with a bomb and had passed a note to the teller, according to Kathleen Prieto of the Miami Beach Police Department.

Prieto said police arrived at the scene and found the suspect inside a barber shop. He then left the shop with a "straight edge razor in his hand." Shots were fired and the suspect was killed.

Witnesses told The Miami Herald that the man was seen causing a commotion inside the barber shop.

A video of a shooting on Miami Beach was posted on Instagram and elsewhere on social media. In the video, a man without a shirt is seen briefly confronting what appeared to be at least three police officers outside a shopping center. The man was shot and fell to the ground.

Saturday night turned into a horror movie at London's Leytonstone underground station as an attacker slashed a person's throat while shouting "this is for Syria." Police, who had difficulty detaining the man with only a Taser, are now treating the incident as a terror act.

The attack took place in the ticket hall at Leytonstone station. Witnesses described a horrific scene, with a pool of blood on the floor and the attacker shouting, while threatening to stab others.

Comment: It's difficult to ascertain whether or not the man really did scream 'this is for Syria' while carrying out this gruesome attack. But one thing is clear, and that's that this diabolical insanity is spreading like wildfire.

Xenophobic hysteria: Only 4 convictions in over 200 attacks on refugee homes in Germany

Worrying figures show most of the violence against refugee homes in Germany, including life-threatening arson, is followed by almost no prosecutions. In 2015 alone, there were only four convictions out of 222 recorded cases, according to Die Zeit.

Die Zeit newspaper has released an alarming report suggesting that violence against refugee shelters is on the rise in Germany with hundreds of recorded attacks ranging from throwing paving stones to Molotov cocktails and arsons. Only a tiny number of such crimes are investigated, and even fewer cases end up in the courts, according to Die Zeit.

The main finding by Die Zeit's investigative team suggests there were 222 violent attacks recorded for this year alone and each of them involved human injuries or the risk of injuries. Of these 222, 93 arson attacks on refugee hostels happened with people inside, meaning that culprits cared little whether people could be seriously injured or killed.

Do all mass killings bother you, or only the ones the media tells you to be bothered about?

children murdered in drone strikes
What if these were your children?
We now know this. A young man who had successfully killed on a large scale went to his religious leader with doubts and was told that mass killing was part of God's plan. The young man continued killing until he had participated in killing sprees that took 1,626 lives — men, women, and children.

I repeat: his death count was not the 16 or 9 or 22 lives that make top news stories, but 1,626 dead and mutilated bodies. Do such things bother you?

What if you learned that this young man's name was Brandon Bryant, and that he killed as a drone pilot for the U.S. Air Force, and that he was presented with a certificate for his 1,626 kills and congratulated on a job well done by the United States of America? What if you learned that his religious leader was a Christian chaplain?

Do such things still bother you?
