Russian Olympic 'Fans House' in PyeongChang to be allowed to use national emblems

Russian Olympic team 'Fans House' director Oleg Rumyantsev has received the official approval of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to display the country's national emblems during the 2018 Winter Games in South Korea.

"A heart composed of ribbons in the color of the national flag has always been our symbol and it will be used in the Fans House. The IOC's ban on Russian national symbols doesn't involve the fans," Rumyantsev told TASS on Thursday.

On December 5, the IOC's Executive Board disqualified the Russian Olympic squad from participating in the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics, while allowing 'clean' Russian athletes, who can prove their non-involvement in doping, to enter the competition under a neutral flag.

All Russian national symbols, including the flag, anthem and the county's coat of arms, will be prohibited at the Games as the result of the investigation into alleged state-sponsored doping manipulations, indicated in the McLaren report.

Federal agents discovered four preserved fetuses in the Detroit warehouse of a man who sold human body parts, confidential photographs reviewed by Reuters show.

The fetuses were found during a December 2013 raid of businessman Arthur Rathburn's warehouse. The fetuses, which appear to have been in their second trimester, were submerged in a liquid that included human brain tissue.

Rathburn, a former body broker, is accused of defrauding customers by sending them diseased body parts. He has pleaded not guilty and his trial is set for January.

A New York lawyer who advised pharmaceutical businessman Martin Shkreli may be heading to prison after a federal jury convicted him of helping his client to defraud shareholders to pay back previously defrauded investors.

Evan Greebel, who served as outside counsel to Retrophin Inc., the biopharmaceutical company formerly run by Shkreli, was convicted Wednesday on two conspiracy charges to commit securities fraud and wire fraud. The jury found Greebel guilty on both counts after three days of deliberations.

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, who was accused by a United Airlines passenger of bumping her from a first-class seat, said in a Twitter screed on Tuesday that she believes the incident is all about race.

"Since this was not any fault of mine, the way the individual continued to act appeared to be, upon reflection, because I was an African American woman, seemingly an easy target along with the African American flight attendant who was very, very nice," the Texas Democrat wrote in a post. "This saddens me, especially at this time of year given all of the things we have to work on to help people."

As conspiracy theories run rampant online and in the media about the who, what, and why of the deadliest mass shooting in recent American history, a documentary has just revealed some incredibly telling information. In the new film, police are exposed for covering up the details of the shooting-because the casino allegedly paid them to.

Since the horrific massacre took place nearly three months ago, details and evidence presented by law enforcement have been scant at best. This is not a coincidence. One of the most telling details about the information in this case is the complete and literal blackout of any images or video that show Stephen Paddock in the Mandalay Bay casino.

While there has been much speculation as to why no video has been released, the documentary now provides an answer-the casino is playing a massive game of CYA (cover your ass).

Earlier this month, government accountability activist Michael Picard was practicing his right to free speech in front of the Bronx Hall of Justice in New York when he was unlawfully arrested and thrown in jail. He had committed no crime and was merely attempting to hand out information on the rights of jurors.

Picard is innocent. He was only attempting to educate his neighbors about their rights on a jury, which is protected free speech. However, courts are intent on using their power to hide the full scope of the jurors' responsibility and they will apparently go to great lengths to do so - including throwing an entirely innocent man in a cage.

For those who don't know, jury nullification is the right for any juror to not only judge the facts of the case but also to judge the validity of the law itself. If a jury feels that a defendant is facing an unjust charge, they have the right to rule in the defendant's favor, even if they are technically guilty under the court's standards.

A vegan chef, author and motivational speaker has been charged with murdering his estranged wife and their two children on Christmas Day following a night-time shoot-out with police.

Anthony Milan Ross, 45, is said to have shot dead 38-year-old Iris Mr Ross and their young children Nigel, 11, and Anora, 10 months, on Monday. He was also charged with multiple counts of aggravated assault and assault against a police officer.

The Bedouin village of Al Araqib in the southern Negev has been demolished for well over 100 times. Its ethnic cleansing follows a similar pattern and logic to that of other Bedouin villages such as Umm Al Hiran, which saw violent ethnic cleansing operations this year, also involving extrajudicial execution of an Israeli Bedouin citizen.

Now the state reaches new heights of Kafkaesque madness: Sheikh Saih Abu Madiam, 68, is sentenced to 10 months in prison, 5 additional months of conditional imprisonment, as well as a fine of 36,000 Shekels (over $10,000), as Haaretz reported (Hebrew).

The offense: Abu Madiam has supposedly trespassed state land - which he claims is his own.

While the hunt for the fountain of youth continues, Norway's newly-crowned oldest man, George Melford Nygaard, has shared his thoughts on the secret to a long and fulfilling life without missing out on the finer things.

Following the death of Torbjorn Ovrebo last week, Nygaard officially became Norway's oldest man at the age of 107. He will celebrate his 108th birthday on January 12. In 2017, Norway boasted 945 citizens over the age of 100, reports Nettavisen.

"It's not true that you have to live healthy to grow old. I have eaten and drank what I wanted throughout my life. I was a big smoker until I reached my forties, but I still have to have a glass of wine every day. It thins out the blood. But I make sure not to drink too much," said Nygaard told Glomdalen.
