'Star Wars' virtue-signaling or franchise's 'New Hope'? Producer promises film directed by WOMAN

force awakens

Producer Kathleen Kennedy is now promising that there will "absolutely" be a 'Star Wars' movie directed by a woman, but it's this exact thinking that has nearly killed the franchise.

One only needs to look to the desperate virtue signaling performed by filmmakers when they are trying to sell the latest 'Star Wars' cash-grab to see how far this franchise has truly sunk.

The latest comes from franchise producer Kathleen Kennedy, someone many have pointed to as the reason an increasing number of fans have been turned off by the science fiction series originally overseen by its creator George Lucas.

The power of the silent majority: Virginia Second Amendment protest is the model for COUNTER color revolution

Virginia protestors
There have been many protests all over the world on a large scale since the beginning of the 24 hour news cycle/prevalence of the Internet and it has become obvious that some quickly gain favored status from the Mainstream Media while others are kept in the dark regardless of size or significance. This selective hyper focus on particular protests is a key component of the Color Revolution strategy. The protestors are positioned as the downtrodden masses yearning for their voices to be heard, and bad country of the month's leadership is oppressive and needs to go. Sometimes this works (Ukraine twice and Georgia) and other times it fails (Russia and for now at least Venezuela) but the Second Amendment (2A) protest in Virginia presents a new tactic/opportunity that can be used to counteract any Color Revolution outside the West.

One thing that is key to understanding Color Revolutions (CR) is that as it stands today they are always orchestrated by the West to make regime change in the Non-West due to their financial and nearly total media domination. No matter how many people label the Mainstream Media as "Dinosaur" or quote their terrible ratings, the 24 hour news cycle still creates the dominant narrative for current events in the public's mind internationally, and this is why the Color Revolution tactic only works one way.

Virginia Congress continues gun control frenzy with 9 more bills, ignores massive protest

Virginia Congress
Despite a massive and peaceful turnout on the Lobby Day rally on January 20th, the Virginia State Congress remained totally unphased by what the people wanted and proceeded to advance numerous unconstitutional gun laws over the following week.

While everyone has been focused on the Wuhan coronavirus, state lawmakers have been quietly eroding gun rights.

"Red Flag" gun law passed

Proving they don't care at all about the opinions of the people of Virginia, the state's Senate passed a "red flag" gun law only two days later. Here's the summary of SB240.

Animal lovers break into homes to save pets during Wuhan lockdown

Doggies
A report in Reuters this week detailed the account of a Wuhan native who was breaking into homes in the quarantine zone in order to feed animals that had no one to care for them.

While there are some people who are trapped inside of Wuhan, there are also many others who live in the city but were away for the New Year holiday when the quarantine went into effect. As the quarantine was being imposed the mayor of Wuhan revealed that as many as 5 million people had recently left the city for celebrations elsewhere. Some of these people have pets that have now been left at home for over ten days without anyone to replenish their food or water or to let them outside.

The man conducting the helpful break-ins is Lao Mao, who has been advertising his services on social media. After he is able to successfully take care of the pets and make sure they are safe he contacts the owners with a video call to show them that everything is okay.

Mao estimates that up to 50,000 pets could have been left home alone as a result of the outbreak. He based his estimate on how many people are not home and the rate of pet ownership in the city.

Location of deadly bus shooting
One person was killed, and five were injured early Monday morning after a man opened fire on a Greyhound bus traveling on Interstate 5 near the Grapevine and headed to the Bay Area, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The suspect has been taken into custody, the CHP said.

The bus was traveling on northbound I-5, near Fort Tejon in Kern County at about 1:25 a.m. when a man opened fire, hitting six passengers, the CHP said. There were 40 people on the bus.

The suspect got off the bus after the shooting, leaving the weapon on the bus, the CHP said. The bus then proceeded to the Grapevine Road exit and pulled into a gas station.

Officers arrived at the original scene of the shooting and found the gunman on the shoulder of the freeway, where he was taken into custody, the CHP said.

One person died at the scene, and the five wounded victims suffered moderate to major injuries and were taken to local hospitals, the CHP said.

Fox 11 Los Angeles, 3/2/2020: Gunman opens fire on Greyhound bus
Authorities say "numerous" people on the bus called 911 to report an active shooter situation. One victim was transported to a hospital by an air ambulance and four victims were transported to local hospitals by ground ambulance. Two of the victims are currently listed in serious condition, officials said.

One of the six victims suffered fatal injuries, CHP Officer Brian Pennings said in a press conference. The victim was identified by her passport as a tourist from Columbia. She was 51-years-old. Her name was not immediately released.

Culmination of current information and questions by the press:

UPDATE 3/2/2020: NBC News: Eyewitness account of the bus shootings
Police began getting calls from passengers on the bus, traveling on Interstate 5, at about 1:30 a.m. local time. 43 persons were onboard.

Mark Grabban, 29, who was on the bus with his girlfriend said he noticed the suspect right away. "He was, massive, so tall, I remember before this happened, I noticed he had really big shoes on," Grabban said, adding that the suspect was talking loudly and "incoherently" when he got on the bus and got into an argument with someone who asked him to quiet down. "He was muttering things, about 'wait till we get to the station,'" Grabban said.

Suddenly, Grabban said he heard "'f--- you, f--- all of you.' And I heard a gun cock, and eight to nine rounds let off."

"I dove to the floor right to under the seat, I got to my girlfriend, tried to put her head down. I was just waiting for the next shot, I was assuming I was going to get shot," said Grabban. "There was a mother with two small girls, who were either four or three, frozen with fear, and I was shaking, telling them to stay down."

He said the shooter aimed toward the back of the bus, where Grabban was sitting. "The casing ended up on my lap," he said.

After the driver let the shooter off the bus, Grabban said he didn't immediately drive away. "He thought that the gunshots were something wrong with the engine. Everyone was screaming at the driver to drive away." He eventually did and pulled off the highway and into a Valero gas station.

"I saw the blood on the floor of the aisle. I looked to the woman on the left, and she wasn't responding, wasn't moving or anything. She was lifeless," Grabban said. "It was horrifying to see. I hadn't seen anything like it."

The body of the person who was killed — identified by her passport as a 51-year-old woman from Colombia — was still on the bus as authorities processed the scene Monday morning.

The uninjured passengers also remained at the scene to be interviewed, Pennings said, adding the incident was unusual. "I've been on 25 years; I've never seen this happen," he said. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and Kern County Sheriff's Office were assisting the California Highway Patrol with the investigation.

Of the five wounded victims, one was airlifted to the hospital. Two were in serious condition, Pennings said.

Grabban questioned why the bus line does not use metal detectors to screen passengers for weapons. "I feel like the Greyhound cared more about people not smoking or talking loudly on the bus," Grabban said. "It seems ridiculous to me."

Woke Yale stops teaching 'problematic' European art canon, proving we no longer deserve the classics

Yale University is abandoning one of its core courses, a comprehensive survey of 700+ years of Western art. It has been deemed too Western, white, and male - and now the art canon gets thrown under the woke bus.

Yale University has announced that it is scrapping the course "Introduction to Art History: Renaissance to the Present". This course is an overview of the development of Western art, forming a handy survey of the visual culture of Europe and North America.

From this autumn, the course will be discontinued despite being popular and oversubscribed. Some students expressed disappointment, stating that the current course is a valuable primer in culture.

Course tutor Tim Barringer said: "I don't mistake a history of European painting for the history of all art in all places." He also called the teaching of Western art history in isolation as "problematic". In effect, Yale believes a course about Western culture is too Western. Barringer's statement echoes that of the director of undergraduate studies, Marisa Bass, who said: "There has never been just one story of the history of art."

Rush Limbaugh diagnosed with advanced lung cancer

rush limbaugh
Rush Limbaugh has been diagnosed with "advanced lung cancer," the conservative radio host announced on his show Monday. Limbaugh said he first realized something was wrong on his birthday, January 12.

"I have to tell you something today that I wish I didn't have to tell you. It's a struggle for me because I had to inform my staff earlier today," he said. "I can't help but feel that I'm letting everybody down with this. But the upshot is that I have been diagnosed with advanced lung cancer."

The 69-year-old talk show host explained to listeners that he began to experience shortness of breath that he at first believed to be asthma, but turned out to be a "pulmonary problem involving malignancy." Limbaugh had the lung cancer diagnosis confirmed by "two medical institutions" later that month, he said.

Chaos wins the Iowa caucus

Caucus goers in Iowa
Six months ago, you would have predicted a Joe Biden win in the Iowa caucuses. Four months ago, Pete Buttigieg looked like the favorite. Twenty-four hours ago, Vermont senator Bernie Sanders seemed set to storm to victory. But no one foresaw an outcome this disastrous for the Democratic party.

Precinct captains across the Hawkeye state reported faults with an app used in the caucuses for the first time. In a statement, a spokesperson for the Iowa Democratic party described 'inconsistencies in the reporting of three sets of results':
'In addition to the tech systems being used to tabulate results, we are also using photos of results and a paper trail to validate that all results match and ensure that we have confidence and accuracy in the numbers we report.'

"Martyrs"? Some Iranian relatives of Ukrainian airliner victims complain of treatment by their government

PS752

Ukraine International Airlines Flight PS752
A man who lost his wife in Iran's January 8 downing of a Ukrainian passenger jet says he fled the country after being pressured by authorities for criticizing the way the government handled the tragedy.

Javad Soleimani's wife, Elnaz Nabiyi, was among 176 people killed by the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) missile attack against the civilian airliner.

He says he was summoned by Iranian intelligence agents for "insulting" state officials.

"I decided to leave the country as soon as possible because I wasn't the person to go to their office and apologize for my criticism, so I decided to leave Iran immediately and be the voice of the victims and their families," Soleimani said in a January 30 interview with Canada's CBC News Network.

Soleimani, a postgraduate student at the Alberta School of Business in Canada, says Iranian authorities also interfered in his wife's funeral to prevent potential protests.

Video of woman being stoned to death in Afghanistan being investigated by rights group

stoning

A video grab shows Afghan men stoning Rokhshana to death in Ghor Province in October 2015.
Afghanistan's Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) says it is investigating video footage that shows an Afghan woman being stoned to death.

The two-minute clip shows a group of men throwing rocks at a covered woman who is lying in a hole that has been dug in the ground. A crowd of onlookers can be heard shouting "Hit her!" and "Allahu Akbar!"

The woman's cries and screams can be heard.

The AIHRC told RFE/RL that it is trying to discover exactly when and where the video was shot, and why the woman was killed.

The Taliban claims the footage is from the same October 2015 stoning that RFE/RL previously obtained footage of -- a case in which a 19-year-old woman in the central province of Ghor was killed for alleged adultery.
