According to KP Relief Department, more than 30 labourers were working at the marble mine in Bampokha village when portions of it collapsed, burying the workers under marble slabs and mounds of earth. Around a dozen labourers are still feared to be trapped under the rubble while a rescue operation is underway to recover them.
Soon after the incident, both police and rescue officials, along with the local residents, rushed to the spot and started rescue and relief works. They pulled out 14 labourers trapped under the rubble. However, 10 of them could not survive the incident, with four others sustaining serious injuries.

Mayor de Blasio got an earful at a town hall held in Forest Hills, New York City on February 19, 2020.
During a town hall in Forest Hills, Queens — a community that's been inundated with de Blasio's community warehouse homeless shelters and neighborhood jails — voters slammed de Blasio for what they described as his ignoring the will and safety of working- and middle-class New Yorkers.
A lifelong resident of New York got cheers from other attendees as he called de Blasio the worst mayor ever in the city's history while blasting the mayor's office for what he said was racism against Asian Americans in the school system:

Late on Friday, South Korea reported 142 new confirmed cases, up a mindboggling 70% in just one day, to 346. A second death was also reported.
A virus outbreak in South Korea is expected to lead to similar economic disruptions that are currently visible in China. The most prone industries to supply chain disruption and factory shutdowns are electronic, automobile, and telecommunication firms.
The people in charge inherited an industrial superpower with unchallenged military dominance. In a little more than a generation, they squandered all of it.
In exchange for short-term profits, bigger vacation homes and cheaper household help they wrecked what they did not build.

Daredevil Flat-Earther 'Mad' Mike Hughes has died after launching himself into the sky in a homemade rocket. Purported video of the accident shows the fatal launch.
Hughes and a colleague built the steam-powered rocket in hopes of shooting the daredevil 5,000 feet (1.5km) into the air. The endeavor was being documented by the Science Channel, which wanted to feature him in a new series called 'Homemade Astronauts'.
A video purportedly filmed at the site shows the rocket being launched into the sky near Barstow, California, before Hughes plunges back down to the earth.
Warning: This video contains disturbing images
Comment: Maybe he's not really dead and this is all just a NASA conspiracy?

This is the speech I gave at a demonstration last night in Melbourne for Julian Assange, whose extradition trial begins February 24th.
Julian Assange started a leak outlet on the premise that corrupt and unaccountable power is a problem in our world, and that problem can be fought with the light of truth. Corrupt and unaccountable power responded by detaining, silencing and smearing him. His persecution has proved his own thesis about the world absolutely correct.
Power is the ability to control what happens. Absolute power is controlling what people think about what happens. Humans are story-oriented creatures, so if you can control the stories that the humans are telling each other about what's going on, you can control those humans.
This is the power of narrative management. This is why governments and billionaires use propaganda, advertising, buy up media conglomerates and fund think tanks, employ public relations and spin doctors, buy up troll armies and bot farms: because they know that those who control the narrative, control the world.
You can do whatever you like, as long as you can control what people think about what you're doing.

The study published on ChinaXiv, a Chinese open repository for scientific researchers, reveals the new coronavirus was introduced to the seafood market from another location, and then spread rapidly from market to market. The findings were the result of analyses of genome-wide data, sources of infection and the route of spread of 93 samples of the novel coronavirus collected from 12 countries across four continents.
The study believes that patient zero transmitted the virus to workers or sellers at the Huanan seafood market. The crowded market facilitated the further transmission of the virus to buyers, which caused a wider spread in early December 2019.

Indian Prime Minster Narendra Modi and President Donald Trump leave the stage at NRG Stadium after a rally in September 2019 in Houston, Texas.
A majority of Indians have confidence in Donald Trump to do the right thing when it comes to world affairs. Trump's image in India has gained favor since his candidacy in 2016, jumping from 14% confidence to 56% over three years. Much of this movement is accompanied by more people now offering an opinion about the U.S. president. The share volunteering a response of "don't know" or declining to answer has fallen precipitously over the same period, from 67% in 2016 to just 30% in 2019. Meanwhile, the small share of those saying they lack confidence in Trump when it comes to foreign policy has remained stable. These latest numbers resemble those of Trump's predecessor: Before Barack Obama left office, 58% of Indians had confidence in him in world affairs, while 9% had no confidence and 33% did not offer an opinion.
