Black student erupts over 'too many white people' at UVA multicultural center

too many white people

A now-viral video showed a black woman complaining about "too many white people" being in the Multicultural Student Center
An irate black student at the University of Virginia blasted her white classmates for taking advantage of the school's new, expanded multicultural center, shocking video shows.

The footage, which has gone viral on social media, shows an unidentified student of color at the 16,000-student public research university in Charlottesville giving what she dubbed a "public service announcement" to other students sitting nearby.

"Excuse me, if y'all didn't know, this a [Multicultural Student Center] and frankly there's just too many white people in here and this a space for people of color," the young woman said. "So just be really cognizant of the space that you're taking up because it does make some of us POCs uncomfortable when we see too many white people in here."

Comment: If going back to 50s-era level of segregation is what this woman wants, things are not going to go the way she thinks it will.

Sex robots pose psychological threats for humans, researchers warn

Sex robots are becoming more sophisticated, which is posing more psychological and moral dilemmas for their owners, researchers warn.

"Some robots are programmed to protest, to create a rape scenario," Christine Hendren of Duke University told BBC. "Some are designed to look like children. One developer of these in Japan is a self-confessed pedophile, who says that this device is a prophylactic against him ever hurting a real child."

Hendren, an engineer, and others spoke out this week at the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science in Seattle.

Biologists in WSJ: Only two sexes, male and female, there is no sex 'spectrum'

adam and eve
In a powerful commentary in the Feb. 3 edition of The Wall Street Journal, biologists Colin Wright and Emma Hilton explain that, scientifically, there are only two sexes, male and female, and there is no sex "spectrum." They also stress that "biologists and medical professionals" must stop being politically correct and "stand up for the empirical reality of biological sex."

With the phenomenon of some men saying they "identify" as women and some women saying they "identify" as men, or any "gender identity" combination therein, "we see a dangerous and anti-scientific trend toward the outright denial of biological sex," state the biologists Wright and Hilton.

This notion that there is a sex "spectrum," where people can choose "to identify as male or female," regardless of their anatomy, is irrational and has "no basis in reality," say the biologists. "It is false at every conceivable scale of resolution."

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV will halt operations at its assembly plant in Serbia due to a lack of parts from China, as the coronavirus continues to affect production around the world.

The stoppage will mark the first time a European carmaker has had to idle a facility in Europe due to problems linked to the virus. Auto makers to date have mainly had to contend with shutdowns in China itself.

The Italian-American carmaker will reschedule planned downtime at its Kragujevac plant in Serbia, a company spokesman said, citing "the availability of certain components sourced in China."

From SAS to Alamo: 8 times SELF-HATING West renounced its own history

Protesters gather around Confederate Major John B. Castleman statue in Louisville, KY
Rewriting or removing bits of history that don't align with modern PC standards is a recurring theme in the West, as these days religious leaders proclaim "shame" in their country and SJWs fight to remove monuments to the past.

Even the most glorious history has its dark spots - but our histories are what makes us what we are. But working toward a better future while acknowledging both the good and the bad bits of the past is no longer the only option. Why bother, when you instead can fall in line with trendy social movements to attack or blackout anything and everything in the past that triggers your modern morality? These cases have been springing up all over the Western world.

Nearly all respondents to a recent survey on US President Donald Trump's so-called "deal of the century" for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict reject the proposal, and a majority of those polled believe the plan has absolutely no chance of putting an end to Israeli occupation in the area.

A public opinion poll released Tuesday by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research reported that 94% of the 1,270 Palestinians surveyed oppose Trump's Middle East peace plan.

"I don't think we've ever seen such a level of consensus among the Palestinian public," Khalil Shikaki, director of the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research, said, as reported by the Associated Press on February 11.

Feminists claiming 'tradwives' are radicalized 'like ISIS brides' have become the woman-shaming patriarchy they hated

Women denouncing their sisters who publicly tout the virtues of traditional marriage and motherhood as victims of extremist brainwashing have substituted a creeping paternalism for feminism's true aims.

Concern about the rise of the so-called 'tradwife' movement - young women embracing a return to pre-feminist gender roles in which the wife is expected to take care of her husband and children full-time rather than work outside the home - has exploded in recent months, bringing with it all the pearl-clutching think pieces and overwrought, undereducated opinionating that implies.

As the media establishment discovers the once-obscure community, self-described feminists have publicly registered their horror at the thought that women anywhere are embracing subservience to men, forgetting that giving women a choice about what kind of life to lead was once the point of feminism.

Shoving politics down gamers' throats doesn't sell games - industry professionals know that, but the media is in denial

Tom Clancy's The Division 2
Videogames have remained one of the last media largely untouched by the toxicity of politics. Game press wants that to change - but developers know it will kill their profits. The latest pushback came from the man behind Fortnite.

During his keynote speech at the annual D.I.C.E Summit (an annual summit hosted by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences that focuses on videogames), Founder and CEO of Epic Games Tim Sweeney took the time to discuss his opinions on blatant politicking within the video game industry. The founder of the studio that gave the world Unreal, Gears of War, and Fortnite stated that game companies should take a "separation of Church and State" approach.

"I think we're seeing a lot of controversy around political censorship of social media, pressure from foreign countries on domestic companies about discourse, and to get through that, we as companies need to divorce ourselves from politics and say that is for individuals to engage in." He went on to say, "and we as platforms should be neutral." After his speech, he went on to Twitter to expand on the subject, stating that "If a game tackles politics, as 'To Kill a Mockingbird' did as a novel, it should come from the heart of creatives and not from marketing departments seeking to capitalize on division."

Sanity wins: Police probe into 'transphobic' tweets deemed unlawful

The police response to an ex-officer's allegedly transphobic tweets was unlawful, the High Court has ruled.

Harry Miller was visited by Humberside Police at work in January last year after a complaint about his tweets.

He was told he had not committed a crime, but it would be recorded as a non-crime "hate incident".
