A video has emerged showing deputies in Georgia tasing a mentally ill man in the groin while he was restrained in a chair. He was found dead just hours later. Two deputies and a jail nurse are being tried for involuntary manslaughter following his death.

The minute-long footage, filmed with a camera attached to the taser and obtained by NBC, shows 22-year-old Matthew Ajibade sitting in a chair. A red dot on his thigh and groin show where the taser was pointed.

Ajibade can be heard screaming after being tasered. Although other voices can be heard, the audio is too distorted to identify the words being said, or who said them.

Trick became treat for parents in a small Connecticut town Monday. Their outrage pressured Milford Public Schools to overturn a ban on Halloween celebrations during official school hours that had just been announced Monday morning.

"This is just not right," read a parent's petition that had 350 signatures in initial national news reports. By the time it reached 2,200 supporters, Milfordschool officials were ready to back off their previous announcement.

More Tennesseans died from legal prescription drugs than car accidents or gunshots

A shocking statistic has come out of Tennessee which further demonstrates the ludicrous nature of the U.S. approach to drugs.

"Legal" opioid drugs in the form of prescription pills killed more people in 2014 than did vehicle accidents or gunshots. At least 1,263 Tennesseans died from opioid overdose, continuing a steady increase over the years—figures that doctors are calling epidemic proportions.

Five global protests just took place, crickets from the mainstream media

disobey
On the weekend of October 10th, dozens of unrelated large protests sprinkled the globe as tensions continued to escalate in the Middle East. Despite hundreds of thousands of people taking to the streets around the world, with over a quarter million in Germany alone, national media coverage has been (un)surprisingly quiet regarding these events.

Here are five of these global protests:

A "quarter million" people protested the TTIP and corporatocracy in Germany — with related protests in other European cities such as Amsterdam and London

Estimated to be 250,000 strong, a protest in Berlin took place to oppose the TTIP "free trade deal" — a major move towards corporatocracy. Protests unfolded concurrently in London, Amsterdam, and other European cities.

Michael Bever, 16, (L) and his brother Robert Bever, 18, are shown in this combo of undated handout photos provided by the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office August 3, 2015.
Autopsy reports released Monday for five members of a Broken Arrow family who were killed inside their home in July reveal the victims died after being stabbed more than 100 times combined.

Robert Bever, 18, and his 16-year-old brother, Michael Bever, are charged with five counts of first-degree murder in the July 22 deaths of their parents, David and April Bever, as well as their siblings, Daniel, Christopher and Victoria. They also are charged with one count of assault and battery with intent to kill in the stabbing of their 13-year-old sister, who survived the attack. A 2-year-old sister was found unharmed in an upstairs room, police said at the time.

A report from the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner's Office states David Bever, 52, received at least 28 "sharp force" injuries classified as stab wounds. Of those, 17 were in the torso, two were in the face and neck, and nine were in his left arm and hand, according to the report. The document also indicates he suffered multiple blunt force injuries all over his body.

April Bever, 44, was stabbed at least 48 times, 18 of which were in the head and neck, according to her autopsy report. She was stabbed 13 times in the torso and 17 times in her arms and hands, and she sustained blunt force trauma, primarily to her head and torso. Her time of death was listed as 11:57 p.m. July 22, and her husband's is recorded as 12:27 a.m. July 23.

Three of David and April Bever's children were also killed, with 12-year-old Daniel Bever sustaining nine stab wounds to the back, shoulder and chest. Christopher Bever, 7, was stabbed six times in the back, chest, shoulder and lower leg, and 5-year-old Victoria Bever had 18 stab wounds to both sides of her neck, chest, back and upper arm.

Tamir Rice family lawyer blasts report defending cops, calls grand jury process 'subversive and evil'

The family of Tamir Rice and their attorney are speaking out about the negative effects of two reports issued before a grand jury investigation whether to indict officers involved in the shooting death of the 12-year-old African-American boy.

On Monday, the reports by two independent experts concluded that Cleveland police officers acted within reason because Rice, who was holding a toy gun, was perceived as "a serious threat."

Comment: There was no time for the officer to determine if Tamir was a serious threat. He shot him immediately.

"First you have to suspend all disbelief that they actually sided with the prosecutor's office, being their pro-prosecutorial stature and positions," Rice family attorney Walter Madison told RT on Monday. "The thing that jumps off the page of both reports is how much they gloss over the fact that these officers created the danger."

"It is just unworkable and unreasonable to understand or believe that they create this precipitous event but then scream the magic words, 'I feared for my life,' therefore this is a reasonable killing of a 12-year-old African-American child."

The Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office asked for the independent reviews ahead of a grand jury trial which will try to determine whether police officer Timothy Loehmann lawfully shot Rice in November 2014, and also whether to indict or not police officer Frank Garmback. The reports, drafted by a retired FBI agent and a prosecutor from Denver, Colorado, both concluded that the police officer, who is white, used reasonable force in shooting Rice.

Comment: How can these so-called experts determine that Loehmann, who was deemed unfit for for police service 2 years before, acted within reason?
In an internal memo from that November, Independence Deputy Chief Jim Polak criticized Loehmann's behavior during a firearms training.

"He could not follow simple directions, could not communicate clear thoughts nor recollections, and his handgun performance was dismal," the memo, available in full at Cleveland.com, states.

According to the report, Loehmann became "distracted and weepy," in part because of an issue with a girlfriend and uncertainty about his future. Polak criticized Loehmann for being "not mature enough in his accepting of responsibility or his understanding in the severity of his loss of control on the range," and concluded the report with recommending that Loehmann be "released" from his position.

The memo also cites several previous issues, including Loehmann removing a bulletproof vest at the wrong time because he felt too warm.

"I do not believe time, nor training, will be able to change or correct the deficiencies," Polak wrote.

Timothy Loehmann, cop who shot Tamir Rice, deemed unfit for policing 2 years ago
His instability certainly explains why he fired at a 12-year-old within 2 seconds of pulling up to a scene. It does not explain why or how these experts came to the same conclusions as this reportedly immature, unstable officer when the video clearly shows otherwise.

"We are not reaching any conclusions from these reports," Prosecutor Timothy J McGinty said in a statement, as cited by the Associated Press. "The gathering of evidence continues, and the grand jury will evaluate it all."

Several shells have exploded outside the Russian embassy in Damascus during a pro-Russia rally. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that the shelling of the embassy is an act of terror.

It was intended to scare supporters of the fight against terrorists, Lavrov added.

Local journalist Alaa Ebrahim, reporting from the scene in Damascus, told RT hundreds of people gathered in front of the embassy on Tuesday, thanking the Russian Air Force for its support of the Syrian Army in its battle against terrorism across the country. According to Ibrahim, about half an hour after the rally started, one of the shells fell about 200 meters from the location of the peaceful demonstration. Luckily, no one was injured.

Comment: Someone is apparently warning Russia. Who will claim responsibility? How were the shells delivered?

A fire broke out at a warehouse in the city of Tianjin, China on Monday night. The blaze was caused by an alcohol spill, according to People's Daily China. It comes just two months after deadly blasts rocked a chemical warehouse in Tianjin.

The blaze was located in the Beichen district of Tianjin municipality.

Police and firefighters rushed to the scene and rescue work is still ongoing, according to Radio Television Hong Kong.

No casualties were reported.

It comes just two months after a double blast a chemical warehouse in Tianjin killed 112 people and injured more than 700 others.

Thousands were left homeless following the disaster, which was the deadliest for Chinese firefighters in more than 60 years.

Just three days after the deadly blasts, a total of seven or eight explosions rocked the site, prompting armed police to evacuate residents within a three-kilometer radius.

Comment: China has been a hotbed of explosions recently!

Former CIA prisoners sue US psychologists who helped design torture program

Two former prisoners of US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) have filed a lawsuit against psychologists who helped to design the enhanced interrogation program, local media reported on Tuesday.

Suleiman Abdullah Salim and Mohamed Ahmed Ben Soud, who the CIA allegedly tortured at the Salt Pit site in Afghanistan, filed a lawsuit against psychologists James Mitchell and Bruce Jessen in federal court in the city of Spokane, the Washington Post reported.

In December 2014, the US Senate Intelligence Committee released a report documenting CIA's torture practices on detainees suspected of terrorism.

Comment: Good for them, especially since James Mitchell has said he has 'nothing to apologize for':
"I'm retired. I do a lot of adventurous stuff now. I served my country and now I'm done. I did what I did for whoever I did it for, and now I'm done with that stuff."
What a ridiculous response from a person who willingly designed a program to torture thousands of people. Hopefully they'll both see justice for their roles in this monstrosity. But the US' use of torture stretches back decades and involves sadists too-numerous-to-count. Check out:

US returning immigrants to Central America knowing they will face imminent violence and death

A man who was severely injured with a knife by unidentified assailants waits for medical treatment at the emergency room of a public hospital in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
The US government is deporting undocumented immigrants back to Central America to face the imminent threat of violence, with several individuals being murdered just days or months after their return, a Guardian investigation has found.

The Guardian has confirmed three separate cases of Honduran men who have been gunned down shortly after being deported by the US government. Each was murdered in their hometowns, soon after their return - one just a few days after he was expelled from the US.

Immigration experts believe that the Guardian's findings represent just the tip of the iceberg. A forthcoming academic study based on local newspaper reports has identified as many as 83 US deportees who have been murdered on their return to El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras since January 2014.

Comment: People are fleeing horrific conditions in their home countries, much of which can be attributed to the U.S., which has been fomenting chaos for years in their attempts to install puppet dictatorships loyal to American interests. It's a favorite pastime of the empire of chaos and the humanitarian crises which inevitably arise trouble these psychopaths very little.
