But on Monday, charges of indecent exposure were discreetly filed against a serial sex offender for the Wi Spa incident, following an investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department.
Sources with knowledge of the case but not authorized to speak publicly say four women and a minor girl came forward to allege that Darren Agee Merager was partially erect in the women's section of Wi Spa. Besides being a suspect in this case, Merager is facing multiple felony charges of indecent exposure over a separate incident in Los Angeles.
The man who donned a horned helmet, painted face, and bare-chest when he breached the U.S. Capitol building Jan. 6 will plead guilty Friday in federal court to charges related to his participation in the riot.
The "QAnon Shaman," whose real name is Jacob Chansley, 34, was charged with a six-count indictment including civil disorder, violent entry and a felony count for obstruction of an official proceeding. It is unclear to which charges Chansley is pleading guilty.
Comment: The most this guy should be charged with is trespassing, and even that's a stretch considering he reports being waved into the building.

Since I published those essays, more and more people have come to see it for what it is, not "insanity" or "an overreaction," but, in fact, a new form of totalitarianism, a globalized, pathologized, depoliticized form, which is being systematically implemented under the guise of "protecting the public health."
In order to oppose this new form of totalitarianism, we need to understand how it both resembles and differs from earlier totalitarian systems. The similarities are fairly obvious — the suspension of constitutional rights, governments ruling by decree, official propaganda, public loyalty rituals, the outlawing of political opposition, censorship, social segregation, goon squads terrorizing the public, and so on — but the differences are not obvious.
Whereas 20th-Century totalitarianism (i.e., the form most people are generally familiar with) was more or less national and overtly political, New Normal totalitarianism is supranational, and its ideology is much more subtle. The New Normal is not Nazism or Stalinism. It is global-capitalist totalitarianism, and global capitalism doesn't have an ideology, technically, or, rather, its ideology is "reality."

In pre-Covid times, the world economy was on the verge of another colossal meltdown. Here is a brief chronicle of how the pressure was building up:
June 2019: In its Annual Economic Report, the Swiss-based Bank of International Settlements (BIS), the 'Central Bank of all central banks', sets the international alarm bells ringing. The document highlights "overheating [...] in the leveraged loan market", where "credit standards have been deteriorating" and "collateralized loan obligations (CLOs) have surged - reminiscent of the steep rise in collateralized debt obligations [CDOs] that amplified the subprime crisis [in 2008]." Simply stated, the belly of the financial industry is once again full of junk.
9 August 2019: The BIS issues a working paper calling for "unconventional monetary policy measures" to "insulate the real economy from further deterioration in financial conditions". The paper indicates that, by offering "direct credit to the economy" during a crisis, central bank lending "can replace commercial banks in providing loans to firms."
"The natural immune protection that develops after a SARS-CoV-2 infection offers considerably more of a shield against the Delta variant of the pandemic coronavirus than two doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, according to a large Israeli study that some scientists wish came with a 'Don't try this at home' label," Science reported Thursday. "The newly released data show people who once had a SARS-CoV-2 infection were much less likely than vaccinated people to get Delta, develop symptoms from it, or become hospitalized with serious COVID-19."
Put another way, vaccinated individuals were 27 times more likely to get a symptomatic COVID infection than those with natural immunity from COVID.
London's Metropolitan Police force confirmed that a group of protesters attempted to breach the building that serves as the drug regulator's headquarters but were thwarted by officers and security guards who are now standing guard outside.
Police were reportedly able to quickly respond to the attempt to storm the MHRA's office building as they were already in the area to halt an Extinction Rebellion protest earlier in the day, according to UK media.
Comment: Earlier in the day this is how the protesters were confronted by police:

Compared to adults employed in different professions, Scottish teachers were as likely to be hospitalized with Covid-19 as their peers, the study, published on Thursday, found. Researchers compared educators and their household members to healthcare workers and the general working-age population.
Teachers were actually less likely to suffer from severe Covid-19 than other adults of working age when Scottish schools were mostly closed, and so were the members of their households. However, even when schools were open, teachers were found to have an equivalent Covid-19 risk to the rest of the working-age demographic.
Leon County Circuit Judge John Cooper last week called DeSantis' executive order unconstitutional and said the governor cannot enforce it.
Cooper's ruling was automatically stayed by Thursday's appeal.
The governor's order allowed parents to decide if they want their kids to wear masks to school rather than have local school districts make the decision. The lawsuit was brought by a group of parents in favor of school mask mandates.
DeSantis this week said he believes the state will win in the 1st District Court of Appeal in Tallahassee because of a new state law, the Parents Bill of Rights, which he said gives parents the final authority on their children's health.
"We'll end up getting it back," the governor told reporters earlier this week about his plan to appeal. "Obviously [Cooper's ruling], it's problematic."
Comment: Masks will not prevent a virus, not even the 'Delta Variant'. What masks prevent is rationality.

It felt like hell itself had opened up, said Ramal Ahmadi, who was watching cartoons with his nephew when a U.S. drone slammed into his family's courtyard where just moments before there had been a noisy celebration to greet the family's oldest brother.
The last thing Ahmadi remembers was the sound of his brother's car horn announcing his arrival and the squealing of the children. He says his mind "is not right" since that day.
Sunday's U.S. drone strike killed 10 members of his family, six of them children, Ahmadi said.
Senior U.S. military officials said the drone strike hit an Islamic State target and weakened the extremist' ability to further disrupt the final phase of the U.S. withdrawal and evacuation of thousands of people from Afghanistan. Three days before the drone strike, an IS suicide bomber had attacked a crowded gate at Kabul airport, killing 13 U.S. service members and 169 Afghans.
Army Gen. Mark Milley chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said Wednesday that at least one of those killed in the drone strike was an Islamic State "facilitator."
That's according to the Central Bank of Russia, which published a Monetary Policy Guidelines draft report on Wednesday. According to the institution, the world economy could enter a crisis scenario due to both the increase of global debt held by countries and the increasing number of companies with weak financial soundness.
According to the draft, the bank has developed four separate scenarios for the near future, up to 2024. According to its so-called 'baseline' scenario, a recession is avoided as countries achieve their vaccine targets and advanced economies shift toward monetary policy normalization.
