A three-room suite complete with a library, high-tech kitchen, stylishly tiled walls, plasma TV and even a conference room - no, it's not an apartment of a US rapper, it's actually a prison cell where a Brazilian drug lord was serving his sentence.

The VIP suite belonged to Jarvis Chimenes Pavao, a convicted Brazilian drug lord, considered one of South America's most dangerous narcotics traffickers. He had been serving an eight-year sentence for money laundering since 2009 at the Tacumbu prison in Asuncion, the capital of Paraguay.

Police discovered the luxurious cell on Tuesday night at almost the same time, as a bomb was uncovered inside the prison. It is believed that the drug baron wanted to create a diversion by detonating the device, in order to allow him to escape.

A 14-year-old northwestern Wisconsin girl who said she was a psychopath looking for her first kill is accused of cycling to the home of her brother's girlfriend, beating the girl and slitting her throat.

Kali J. Bookey, of New Richmond, was charged as an adult with attempted first-degree intentional homicide on Thursday. She is currently being held without bond at a juvenile detention center.

Police say Bookey told investigators she wanted to scare the victim to leave the area.

Bookey's mother, Dawn Bookey, said in a brief telephone conversation Friday that there were no signs her daughter was planning to attack the girl and that her family is very, very sad.

Meanwhile, the victim continues to recover in the hospital from her 'very serious' injuries.

"Moderate" terrorists attack Damascus restaurant and homes - "no humanity and no respect for children"

damascus
On July 25, I visited the Qamar al-Sham restaurant which on July 24 was hit by terrorist shelling, killing and injuring many of the civilians inside, including at least 2 children, one of whom was an infant.

When I visited the restaurant on July 25, it had been mostly cleaned up of debris, but still stank of blood. While the media reports I've seen have varied (early reports saying five had been murdered and others saying eight victims) the employees said eleven civilians were killed, including the 7 year old son of one of the restaurant managers, and an infant and his mother. They said the infant's body was found an hour after the attack, inside a small room off the main room.

Comment: All brought to you by the the U.S.'s "moderate rebels".

Genetically modified wheat was found growing in a Washington state field, according to agricultural officials. Regulatory agencies haven't approved GMO wheat for production in the US, and the discovery could affect wheat sales abroad.

Federal authorities said on Friday that a farmer had discovered 22 herbicide-resistant wheat plants growing in an unplanted field, as first reported by the Associated Press.

The GMO wheat was developed to be resistant to the herbicide Roundup, which was created by the seed giant Monsanto. The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) said it is holding and testing the farmer's entire wheat harvest, but so far has not found any more GMOs.

The agency added there has been "no evidence of GE wheat in commerce."

Genetically modified wheat is banned for sale or production in the US, and it is not clear how the genetically engineered wheat ended up in Washington.

CNN: Breaking: Feds going door to door collecting urine samples "checking for ZIKA"

You cannot make this stuff up kids. From CNN:
For the Zika Virus "Local, state and federal health officials are going door-to-door to ask residents for urine samples and other information in an effort to determine how many people may be infected Additional cases are anticipated.

It is possible that someone could have Zika without knowing, since 80% of those infected have no symptoms. When symptoms occur, they can include fever, rash, joint pain and red eyes, and they can last from a few days to about a week. There is no treatment or vaccine for Zika. None of these four unidentified patients, which include a woman and three men, has needed hospitalization.
Folks, you read this correctly. The feds and other local authorities are going DOOR TO DOOR to private residences asking (demanding?) urine samples.

What if a resident does not comply? What else are they testing for? Would you comply? I can tell you right now I am not giving any local or federal agent my urine. If arrest were the alternative then let them arrest me. I have nothing to hide, but no way would I submit to such a test if the feds showed up at my door. Some experts I'm speaking with are saying their asking for urine under the guise of "Zika virus" when it is, in fact, for something much more sinister. This is very disturbing to me.
