Professors across US cancel classes because precious marshmallows can't handle election of Trump

laying on couch
Professors across the nation are cancelling classes Wednesday to help students deal with their emotional distress as they come to grips with the "shocking" election of Donald Trump.

At the University of Connecticut, for example, one professor emailed her students to inform them that since "the election process has been particularly trying for so many people," she would not be "taking roll in class tomorrow."

"My professor just cancelled class because of the results of the election. He's for Hillary Clinton."

"Because I know this process has been difficult for many of you (emotionally and mentally), I wanted to let you know that I'm not taking roll in class tomorrow," English professor Breann Leake states in the email, noting that "there are a lot of very real, very serious issues at stake."

"Depending on how attendance works out, we may adjust the schedule and use Wednesday's class as a review day," the message adds. "However, if you feel like you need to take a personal day, I absolutely understand that as well."

Comment: Imagine what people in other countries must be thinking. If you live in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. and you have to read about the whiny Americans who curl up in a ball and cry when they don't get their way, you are probably pretty angry. The professors should be forcing students to deal with reality, not letting them wallow in their own self-pity.

The renaissance

The return to civilian rule in Nigeria in 1999 brought its share of blessings across the land: freedom of speech, assembly, and protest, the election of local administrators in states and local governments (as against sole military administrators deployed from other states), the spread of telecommunication technologies (internet, GSM services etc), and digital banking and digital currencies. At this point Nigeria, was open to the world for business, as sanctions were lifted and socio-economic activities resumed in full swing. This led to the cross fertilization of ideas in all spheres - the military, governance, activism, and, of course, nefarious activities such as militancy. Here we are in an era where you can speak and chat with a person half way around the world with just a dial or click of a button and one can get anything he/she desires with the right connection (dark web) and price. Thus, what the militant struggle lacked in terms of expertise and logistics they could easily make up for in an open society with a plethora of youths never short on ideas. The time had come for this ailing militant cause to get a boost from more vibrant youth who took charge of critical sections of the militant struggle, training, and retraining at terrorist havens in Libya, Sudan, etc. and with funds rushing in from major oil companies as they settled in. The new funds were put together for better weapons and logistics.

Comment: A "classical parasitic relationship" sounds about right and well describes how Western corporations operate in most of the world.

Demonstrators riot following the election of Republican Donald Trump as President of the United States, in Oakland, California, U.S., November 9, 2016.
Thousands across major US cities have been protesting the election of Donald Trump as the 45th US president. Demonstrators reportedly burned flags and smashed store windows. Dozens of arrests have been made following the rallies.

Hundreds of protesters chanting "No Trump. No KKK. No fascist USA" have gathered in and around Monroe Park in Richmond, local media reported.

War Whore

Media claims that Europe is 'anti-Trump' are proof they're as out of touch with EU as they were US

propaganda
The mainstream media are trying to paint Europe as a continent of anti-Trump, anti-Putin globalists. The truth could not be more different.

Not content with falsely reporting on public opinion in America, the western mainstream media are now trying their luck in Europe. The narrative goes something like this: Europe feels abandoned by an insular, idiotic president-elect who has turned his back on America's anti-Russian mates in the old world.

This statement is written from the perspective of those in the deluded parallel universe of discredited mainstream media. In actual fact, a more accurate translation reads: Trump has taken the wind out of the sails of the globalist, anti-Russian movement in parts of Europe by stating that it isn't in America or the world's interests to antagonise a super-power who means no one harm, other than the Islamic terrorists who mean to harm the world.

The more distilled version of this narrative which is presented in more smug yet downmarket regions of the western mainstream media goes something like this: Europeans are more intelligent than Americans and therefore are shocked that such a terrible man could be elected president. This is too silly to even merit a translation.

General Motors announces lay off of 2,000 workers in Ohio and Michigan

Automobile manufacturer General Motors has announced plans to lay off 2,000 employees at two auto plants in Ohio and Michigan. The employees will be furloughed in January.

General Motors (GM) announced Wednesday that it would be letting go 2,000 employees in the Midwest as the result of what they believe is a continued shift from small cars to crossovers and trucks. The plants affected by the layoffs build cars for Chevrolet and Cadillac, Fortune reported.

Both factories will be losing their third shift in January. However, GM will be investing $211 million in the Lansing Grand River facility in Michigan for a new vehicle that still remains a mystery.

Comment: Americans are borrowing more than ever for new and used vehicles, and 30- and 60-day delinquency rates rose in the second quarter, according to the automotive arm of one of the nation's largest credit bureaus.

The total balance of all outstanding auto loans reached $1.027 trillion between April 1 and June 30, the second consecutive quarter that it surpassed the $1-trillion mark, reports Experian Automotive.

Former gov't insider David Stockman: "The jig is up: America's voters just fired their ruling elites," but what next?

rust belt voters
America's voters fired their ruling elites last night. After 30 years of arrogant misrule and wantonly planting the seeds of economic and financial ruin throughout Flyover America, the Wall Street/Washington establishment and its mainstream media tools have been repudiated like never before in modern history.

During the course of the past year, upwards of 70 million citizens— - 59 million for Trump and 13 million for Bernie Sanders—-have voted for dramatic change. That is, for an end to pointless and failed wars and interventions abroad and a bubble-based economic policy at home. The latter showered Wall Street and the bicoastal elites with vast financial windfalls—-even as it left 90% of Flyover America behind, where households struggled with stagnant wages, vanishing jobs, soaring health costs, shrinking living standards and diminishing hope for the future.

The voters also said in no uncertain terms that they are fed-up with a "rigged" system that has one set of rules for establishment insiders and another for everyone else. In essence, that's what servergate, the Clinton Foundation pay-to-play scandals and the trove of Wikileaks DNC/Podesta hacks was all about.

Indeed, in his brawling style, the Donald in effect convinced a huge slice of the electorate that the Clintons amounted to America's leading crime family. And while he may have exaggerated the extent of their personal crimes and misdemeanors, the latter functioned as a proxy for the beltway racketeering that has become the modus operandi of the Imperial City.

Comment: Strange thing to say in an otherwise objective article. If anything, Trump seems to have understated things concerning the Clinton crime cabal! But do read on...

New York City: Hundreds of protesters march against election of Donald Trump

Comment: Where was the opposition from these people when war harpy Killary was murdering innocent people in the Middle East?

Hundreds of protesters in Union Square in Manhattan, New York are showing their opposition to the election of Donald Trump. Women voiced their discontent, chanting, "P***y grabs back!"

The demonstrators, who appear to generally be younger voters of all races, also raised the issue of excessive use of force by police, chanting, "from Ferguson to NYC, end police brutality."

The protests also reached Times Square. Some sharing photos on social media claim that there are thousands joining the march.

The New York City Police Department (NYPD) has started using Long Range Acoustic Devices (LRAD) to force the protesters to disperse. Protesters are in the process of trying to walk up to Trump Tower on 5th Avenue and 57th Street from 14th Street Union Square.

The protests have shut down Manhattan's 5th Avenue while the protesters make their way uptown towards Trump Tower.

Good riddance: Racist Arizona sheriff Joe Arpaio loses re-election bid

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio
Republican Sheriff Joe Arpaio's 23-year run as sheriff of metropolitan Phoenix, Arizona has come to an end after losing to Democrat Paul Penzone. Arpaio's tenure was marred by many controversies, including being charged with contempt of court.

The self-proclaimed World's Toughest Sheriff is going to have to find a new title after losing his position to Paul Penzone, whose campaign largely centered on being the antithesis of Arpaio, and disavowing his various racially-charged practices. Penzone, for example, specifically vowed to disband Arpaio's "posse" which has conducted illegal raids on suspected undocumented immigrants.

This comes after a particularly tough patch for Arpaio. In October, Arpaio was charged with contempt of court by the Department of Justice after he was found to be in violation of a 2011 injunction to stop enforcing federal civil immigration law with his "posse."

Arpaio's policies of enforcing federal immigration law were only the tip of the iceberg in his spotty legacy. Arpaio was also responsible for the so-called Tent City, rows of 20-year-old tents where inmates were exposed to temperatures of up to 110 degrees Fahrenheit (43 C), the News Examiner reported.

Arpaio's next moves are unclear, but will likely involve the DOJ, as he faces up to six months in jail on contempt charges.

Comment: Looks like the people of Maricopa County in Arizona finally tired of Arpaio's racist and illegal actions:

Paula Jones, left, talks Kathleen Willey and Juanita Broaddrick before the second presidential debate at Washington University in St. Louis, Sunday, Oct. 9, 2016.
Hillary Clinton's apparent defeat in Tuesday's presidential election was called "vindication" by the woman who accused Bill Clinton of rape in the 1990s.

Juanita Broaddrick thanked Donald Trump on her certified Twitter account just after 2 a.m. Wednesday and said she was crying "Tears of joy.

"Vindication after 38 years of pain & suffering. Thanks to Mr Trump & all of you. It does go away," she said.

In 1999, at the height of the Paula Jones and Monica Lewinsky sex scandals, Ms. Broaddrick said Mr. Clinton raped her in April 1978, when she was 35 and he was Arkansas Attorney General. She accused Mrs. Clinton during this year presidential campaign of being an enabler and that Mrs. Clinton's public celebrity was traumatizing to her as a rape survivor.
