A major blast hit a chemical plant in the city of Cresson, Hood County, Texas leaving one person badly injured another one missing, the media reported, citing firefighters and local police. According to the city's Mayor Bob Cornett, the chemical plant manufactures soap and acid.
"Not since Albert Einstein has a scientist so captured the public imagination and endeared himself to tens of millions of people around the world," Michio Kaku, a professor of theoretical physics at the City University of New York, said in an interview. Coincidentally, Einstein was born on March 14 (in 1879), the date on which Hawking died. Equally remarkably, Hawking was born on January 8, 1942 - exactly 300 years after the death of another great scientist, Galileo Galilei.
Hawking's book "A Brief History of Time: From the Big Bang to Black Holes," published in 1988, sold more than 10 million copies and inspired a documentary film by Errol Morris. The 2014 film about his life, "The Theory of Everything," was nominated for several Academy Awards and Eddie Redmayne, who played Hawking, won the Oscar for best actor.
Scientifically, Hawking will be best remembered + for a discovery so strange that it might be expressed in the form of a Zen koan: When is a black hole not black? When it explodes.
However, a note has reportedly emerged that claims the sex was 'consensual.' Children as young as 11 apparently gave permission for their abusers to have sex with them, an internal police message relating to the Telford sex-abuse scandal said.
The message has been uncovered in the probe looking into the sex abuse of children, many of whom were sold for abuse, beaten and forced into taking drugs. It allegedly read "in most cases the sex is consensual."
Outrage has spread among campaigners and those involved in the case, as West Mercia Police comes under fire for the latest grooming-gang scandal to rock the UK.
Latifa, 33, who is said to have vanished alongside American Herve Jaubert, instructed her US-based lawyer to circulate the video in the event of her death or disappearance.
The bare-faced Latifa, who speaks directly to the camera, can be seen wearing a simple blue top with her hair tied back.

Theranos and 34-year-old Holmes ran “an elaborate, years-long fraud in which they exaggerated or made false statements about the company’s technology, business, and financial performance,” according to the SEC.
The SEC on Wednesday accused Theranos CEO Holmes and a top lieutenant of defrauding investors of more than $700 million through false claims about its technology.
Holmes - a Steve Jobs wannabe who dressed exclusively in black turtlenecks as she talked up her blood-testing unicorn, which at one point boasted a valuation north of $9 billion - settled with the regulators for $500,000 while neither admitting nor denying the accusations.
Just days into the boycott Netflix is already feeling the heat. Their stock has been steadily lowering in price since the boycott began. Just today the stock has dropped nearly 3% in value. As of press time, it's down &9.35.
Since Christmas, the stock has been steadily climbing, leading to investment publications to praise the company, stating that their stock is "on fire." On Christmas day, the Netflix stock was priced at $191, and just last week it topped off at $331.
Comment: It's difficult to know for sure if Netflix' drop in stock has anything to do with its announced plans for an Obama show. There doesn't seem to be any evidence of a Netflix boycott by Trump supporters on the internet (at least not an organized one). It could be, however, that Trump supporters independently all decided to cancel their Netflix accounts because of the announcement. Overall, it's a nice idea, but it seems this writer may be wishfully thinking.

The potential measures would not only affect the business interests of rich Russians in the UK. Valuable Russian assets owned by British companies could also be in the firing line.
UK energy major BP owns a 20 percent stake in Russia's biggest oil company, the state-run giant Rosneft. The two have managed to retain their cooperation since 2014, when Western countries introduced sanctions against Russia over its alleged involvement in the conflict in eastern Ukraine and reunification with Crimea. But if the UK Parliament decides to toughen the penalties, BP could stand to lose an asset which provides nearly a third of the company's global oil production.
Police confirmed the incident which occurred on Monday.
Matabeleland North provincial police spokesperson Inspector Siphiwe Makonese identified the victim as Lockeus Dube(40) of Sembewule Village.
"I can confirm that we received a case of sudden death where a man was attacked by a hippopotamus when he tried to capture pictures of the animal in the bush," said Insp Makonese.
A Metropolitan police statement said officers were called to Westminster just before 10.15am on Thursday after reports of the suspicious package. Police said a substance inside the package was found to not be hazardous.
"Specialist officers are on scene and the package is being assessed," it said. "London ambulance service is on the scene. A woman is being assessed as a precaution. Inquiries continue."
It is unclear at this stage whether the package is linked to packages received by four Muslim Labour MPs in the past few days. A staff member for Ealing Central and Acton MP, Rupa Huq, was taken to hospital as a precaution after opening post containing an "irritant substance," while the parliamentary office of Manchester Gorton's MP, Afzhal Khan, was evacuated after he was sent a suspect package.
Police say Moustafa was set upon after getting on a bus at the scene near the Victoria Centre shopping precinct, according to the Evening Standard. She was followed by a group of women, who it is claimed were then threatening and abusive and physically attacked her.
The engineering student was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre after the assault took place on February 20. She was put into an induced coma and subsequently transferred to Nottingham City Hospital, where she died on Wednesday. Police are now appealing for witnesses.
Moustafa's mother claims her daughter was the victim of a racially motivated hate crime. She hit out at authorities for failing to adequately deal with a previous official complaint of abuse they had filed months before she was killed.
