Russian Communist Party wants new probe into Bolshevik role in Romanovs' killing - decries using murders for propaganda purposes

A Russian Communist Party MP has asked for the deaths of Russian tsars and other royals to be investigated, saying that the probe of the 1918 killing of the Romanovs is currently being used for propaganda purposes.

In his letters to the Investigative Committee (the Russian Federal agency that investigates especially important crime or crime that receives a lot of media attention) and the Prosecutor General's Office, MP Valery Rashkin demanded that all information on the killing of the Romanov family is disclosed and called for an investigation into murders of other Russian tsars. The lawmaker also made similar requests to the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Russian History and the Institute of Archaeology.

In what appears to be a continuation of the #MeToo movement, and following decades of substantiated accusations of sexual abuse by priests in the Catholic Church, a rock star American Catholic Cardinal stands accused of abusing an 11-year-old boy. The abuse continued for over 20 years.

Father Theodore E. McCarrick began abusing "James" in 1969 when the now 60-year-old man was just 11. James told the New York Times that McCarrick was a family friend and started grooming him following a swim in the family's pool. Apparently pretending to be looking for the bathroom, McCarrick, who was already a priest, came into his bedroom, took his clothes off, exposed himself to the boy and said:

See, we are the same...It's O.K., we are the same.

James contends that was the beginning of the abuse he experienced at the hands of a pedophile-abuse which went on for 20 years. Reportedly fighting through tears to tell his story, James no longer feels alone, and his secret is similar to the stories of others. He doesn't have to continue to live in silence. Following the revelation that McCarrick abused a 16-year-old boy in 1971, James said he was relieved.

The UK's youngest terrorist seeks anonymity after plotting attack on Australian police officers

The UK's youngest convicted terrorist, found guilty of plotting the beheading of Australian police officers when he was just 14, will seek lifelong anonymity.

The defendant, from Blackburn, Lancashire, was jailed for life in a 2015 trial for inciting terrorism but was granted anonymity by the judge until adulthood amid fears he would be "glorified for what he has done" by certain individuals in society.

The teenager was convicted of trying to persuade Australian jihadist Sedvet Besim, who was 18 at the time, to plot an attack in Melbourne on Anzac Day. The plot was foiled by Australian police.

As long as he is assessed to be not posing a threat to the public, the teenager, referred to in court as RXG, will be eligible for release in 2020. If courts uphold the teenager's request for his identity to remain concealed, he would be the first terrorist in the UK to be granted the right.

His lawyers will fight for their client's name to remain secret claiming his right to privacy under human rights law, as well as his desire for a "second chance", outweighs the public's right to know about his past.

World Cup bump for Russia: Foreign tourists shelled out $1.6 billion attending tournament

The Russian economy got a significant boost in June and July from increased tourist revenue during the FIFA World Cup, according to the CEO of the FIFA Organizing Committee Alexey Sorokin.

"In total, Russia got around 100 billion rubles ($1.6 billion)," he said.

Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said earlier that the Russian capital received about 13 billion rubles ($206 million) during the World Cup. Overall, tourists spent 715 billion rubles ($11.3 billion) in Moscow this year.

Comment: Russia has gained something far more precious than an economic infusion. Its flawless execution of the event, coupled with the hospitality its people showed the fans, has decisively countered the frightening propaganda spread by the West. Russia can now boast of fans and friends around the world.

Three men arrested after spraying 3yo toddler with corrosive substance in suspected acid attack

Three men have been arrested over a suspected acid attack that left a three-year-old toddler seriously injured in Worcester, West Midlands.

The boy suffered serious burns to his face and arms in the incident at Home Bargains in Tallow Hill at around 2:15pm on Saturday. The men, aged 22, 25 and 26, have been arrested in London on suspicion of conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm, according to West Mercia police.

They were arrested at an address in Walthamstow, the Metropolitan Police have said.

A man from Wolverhampton, 39, remains in custody after being arrested on Sunday on suspicion of conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm.

Trump's Republican support hits record high despite mainstream media scorn

US President Donald Trump's approval rating among fellow GOP voters has soared through the roof, reaching 88 percent for the first time in his tenure. The three-day poll was conducted both before and after the Helsinki summit.

The newly released poll by NBC News/Wall Street Journal has found that controversies in recent months, including the enforcement and subsequent reversal of the "zero tolerance" immigration policy at the border, as well as Russiagate, have done nothing to erode support for Trump among his electoral base.

MSNBC left Washington, D.C., and went out to Kenosha County, Wisconsin, to interview President Trump supporters about their thoughts on Trump's meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in a clip that aired on Wednesday morning.

"Well, he did get some Republican backlash, and I think they just didn't hear the whole story before they started coming after him. So he was trying to appease them a little bit," John Poole, a Trump supporter said.

"I'm totally in support of him. He's an entrepreneur, he's a business man, working class person's president. He's trying to make this country great again," another supporter stated.

NBC correspondent Morgan Radford spoke to a handful of people in the clip, and they all shared their support and love for the president.

Someone else added, "I'm not one bit worried about the rest of the world. They ain't worried about us."

Kenosha County went blue in 2012 and then went red during the last election.

Rothschild Bank caught up in Malaysian money-laundering scandal

Switzerland's financial regulator has accused Rothschild Bank AG and its trust subsidiary of violating anti-money laundering law in relation to 1MDB, the troubled Malaysian sovereign wealth fund.

According to the regulator, both Rothschild Bank AG and Rothschild Trust AG failed to check where assets from a client came from. The firms reportedly disregarded signs that the funds could be connected to money-laundering and took the money anyway. The companies run by the Rothschild family are also accused of reporting on the issue too late.

Russian phone pranksters strike again: Claim Yale told them how it coached Navalny to 'improve' Russia with 'revolutionary' studies

A Russian phone-pranking duo claims to have recorded a call with the manager of the Yale fellowship program, who joked about training revolutionaries and took some credit for making Navalny an opposition figure.

On Sunday, famous Russian pranksters Vovan and Lexus released audio which they claim contains a candid conversation with Timothy Stumpth, associate director of the Yale Maurice R. Greenberg World Fellows Program. The international four-month program is aimed at emerging leaders and was attended by Russian opposition figure Aleksey Navalny in 2010.

The audio itself is unverified, and it is unclear whether it was edited or not. In what appears to be a 10-minute phone call, the prankster impersonating Polish education minister Jaroslaw Gowin is having a lighthearted chat with the man thought to be Stumpth.

A gunman dressed all in black opened fire on a busy Toronto street, leaving two people dead and another 12 injured - including a young girl.

The 29-year-old attacker also died following the rampage in the Canadian city's Greektown district on Sunday night.

A video from one witness shows a man dressed in black clothes and a black hat walking quickly and firing three shots from the pavement into at least one restaurant. Witnesses described hearing about 20 shots and the sound of a weapon being reloaded several times.

Comment: It seems "Toronto the safe" is becoming less safe all the time. No urban location is without its share of people 'going off'. Watch your backs!
