John Griffin, the longtime CNN producer fired last month over child trafficking allegations, has been named in a Connecticut civil lawsuit alleging "despicable acts" of "horrific sexual abuse" and exploitation.

"For several years prior to 2020, the defendant solicited young girls, including the minor plaintiff, for the purpose of knowingly persuading, inducing, enticing and coercing them to engage in sexual activity, sexual exploitation, and/or sexual trafficking," the lawsuit, filed last week in Bridgeport, alleges.

Criminally, Griffin faces one trafficking charge along with two counts of attempted trafficking in federal court in Vermont after allegedly soliciting parents with underage children.

Weed adds billions to states' budgets - study

US states that have legalized the adult use of cannabis have collected $10.4 billion in taxes between sales beginning in 2014 and December 2021, according to a recent report by a pro-industry group.

A study released by the Marijuana Policy Project (MPP) earlier this month has described legalizing cannabis for adults as a "wise investment" that has given states a "new revenue stream to bolster budgets." It adds that the $10.4 billion is not the final figure, as some states have not yet submitted totals for the last months of 2021. Almost one third of the total revenue was reported in 2021.

"States that have legalized cannabis for adults are reaping significant economic benefits," said Karen O'Keefe, director of state policies at the MPP. She pointed out that in many instances revenue is reinvested in communities affected by drug use and by the war on drugs.

Judge reinstates Novak Djokovic's visa — rules cancelation was "unreasonable"

Novak Djokovic was mocked on social media for his principled stand on bodily autonomy
Judge: "What more could this man have done?"

In a sensational twist, Federal Circuit Court judge Anthony Kelly has ordered the immediate release of tennis star Novak Djokovic from detention after overturning the federal government's decision to cancel his visa.

The judge told the hearing that the decision to cancel the temporary visa was 'unreasonable' and will be quashed with the respondent, the Minister for Home Affairs, to pay his costs and to take 'all necessary to steps' to release Djokovic immediately and return his passport and all other personal effects.

The 'Colston Four' verdict is a licence for woke vandalism

Sage Willoughby, Jake Skuse, Milo Ponsford and Rhian Graham celebrate after receiving a not guilty verdict at Bristol Crown Court, on January 05, 2022 in Bristol, England.
Find a statue offensive? Upset by a street name? Object to a commemorative plaque? Don't suffer in silence. Tear it down! It's not criminal damage if you are acting to prevent offence.

Being convinced you are on the "right side of history" is a green light for vandalism, at least that seems to be the message sent by the 'not guilty' verdict handed down to the so-called 'Colston Four' in Bristol yesterday.

Back in June 2020, in the midst of the Black Lives Matter protests that swept the globe following the killing of George Floyd, crowds in Bristol gathered around the 125-year-old statue of slave trader and philanthropist Edward Colston. A mob succeeded in toppling the statue, dragging it through the streets, and dumping it in the nearby port. Nine people were later charged with criminal damage and four - three men and one woman - chose to let the case go to court.

Jake Tapper: If someone is in the hospital for a broken leg and have COVID, it's misleading to call it COVID hospitalization

Jake Tapper
© CNN
CNN anchor Jake Tapper on Monday said it is misleading to count someone who is in the hospital for a car accident or a broken leg and has COVID as a COVID hospitalization.

"So the hospitals are still stretched thin because of this, so I am not trying to take away from that, but if 40% in some hospitals, 40% of the people who have COVID don't necessarily have problematic COVID, they're there because they got in a car accident. They're there because, you know, they bumped their head and they're being included as in the hospital with COVID," Tapper said.

"That number seems kind of misleading," he added.

Comment: An oddly salient and reasonable comment coming from Tapper who's no champion for reason when it comes to COVID policies. Strange too that this clip was posted to MSN with the addition of posts from those saying it took Tapper two years to figure out what everyone who's been paying any attention at all knew from the very beginning - the numbers bandied about by governments and medical hacks are artificially inflated to stoke fear and drive compliance with arbitrary government policies:
Conservative talk show host Clay Travis tweeted: "Anyone who has bothered to look at the data has, of course, known this for two years. "
In this clip, @JakeTapper is absolutely right that counting all people in the hospital WITH COVID as being there FOR COVID is wildly misleading -- especially since it applies to close to 50% -- but it's so striking how many arguments that were long taboo are now all being aired. https://t.co/3F6P7fxnJj

— Glenn Greenwald (@ggreenwald) January 10, 2022
Media Research Center TV managing editor Brittany Hughes tweeted: "Imagine it taking you two years to figure this out."

Conservative strategist Greg Price said many have "turned on a dime" and "acknowledged the things 'conspiracy theorists' have been saying for two years were true."

In sharing the clip, journalist Glenn Greenwald said it "is absolutely right" that Tapper's description of counting all those in hospital with COVID as being there for COVID "is wildly misleading," adding "It's so striking how many arguments that were long taboo are now all being aired."

The Washington Post noted that Walensky's latest comments, which have been leapt on by figures on the right to argue against COVID mitigation measures, come as she sought media consultant advice on how to present a consistent message on the pandemic.

Must be hard to present a consistent message when one is constantly having to lie and contradict oneself in order to cover up those lies.

Walensky had previously faced criticism for telling ABC News it was "really encouraging" that 75 percent of vaccinated people who were dying from coronavirus had four or more comorbidities.

Some Twitter users said the comments were disrespectful toward disabled or chronically ill people. In response, Walensky later tweeted "We must protect people with comorbidities from severe #COVID19."

Smash-and-grab squads: How US looting rings organize online as police are defunded

A shattered window is seen at the Barbour store after it was looted and damaged by some protesters after they participated in a march against the death in Minneapolis police custody of George Floyd, in the Manhattan borough of New York City, US, June 1, 2020.
Liberal city residents are waking up to the robbery and violence running rampant wherever police departments have been defunded across America.
"It looked like chaos when groups of young people dashed from cars into the Louis Vuitton store in San Francisco's Union Square and ran off with luxury purses, bags, and designer wear.

"A few days later, about 80 people stormed through a Walnut Creek mall, stealing expensive items before fleeing. At L.A.'s Grove shopping mall not long after, a smaller group used sledgehammers on a Nordstrom.

"But California Atty. Gen. Rob Bonta said the group crimes are rooted in a kind of organized crime. Those dashing into the stores are mostly foot soldiers for others calling the shots from a safe distance."
So begins an LA Times story about events that are happening around the US that are being called "smash-and-grabs."

BREAKDOWN: Basic services and supply chains are rapidly breaking down all over America

dark earth
I warned you that things would get even worse in 2022, and that is exactly what is happening. Throughout the latter stages of 2022, I documented how basic services were breaking down all across the country, but this was a trend that was largely ignored by the mainstream media until now. Fear of the Omicron variant has taken things to an entirely new level, and at this point things have gotten so bad that even the mainstream media is full of stories about this crisis. For example, over the weekend this was one of the Drudge Report's main headlines: "NATIONWIDE BREAKDOWN OF SERVICES". The following is an excerpt from that story...
Ambulances in Kansas speed toward hospitals then suddenly change direction because hospitals are full. Employee shortages in New York City cause delays in trash and subway services and diminish the ranks of firefighters and emergency workers. Airport officials shut down security checkpoints at the biggest terminal in Phoenix and schools across the nation struggle to find teachers for their classrooms.

The current explosion of omicron-fueled coronavirus infections in the U.S. is causing a breakdown in basic functions and services — the latest illustration of how COVID-19 keeps upending life more than two years into the pandemic.

Comment: Or, we could be witnessing greater sickness because of the large number of vaxxed, along with the large numbers of people who've reached a negative tipping point in their health because of a reluctance to get treated early, AND the mere fact that this is also cold and flu season - where cases are deceptively attributed to the Another-con virus by hospitals paid to do so.

"Uncharted territory": Lockdowns & ongoing supply chain issues threaten global economic outlook - World Bank

World Bank

World Bank building in Washington
The World Bank is downgrading its outlook for the global economy, blaming continuing outbreaks of COVID-19, a reduction in government economic support and ongoing bottlenecks in global supply chains.

The 189-country, anti-poverty agency forecasts worldwide economic growth of 4.1% this year, down from the 4.3% growth it was forecasting last June. It's also down from the 5.5% expansion it estimates the global economy tallied in 2021.

In its Global Economic Prospects report out Jan. 11, the World Bank projects that the U.S. economy will grow 3.7% this year, down from 5.6% in 2021. It expects China, the world's second-biggest economy, to see growth decelerate to 5.1% in 2022 from 8% last year.

Comment: What we're witnessing has been many years in the making, but the last 21+ months have certainly accelerated matters, and with stocks so depleted that shelves are going bare and companies no longer able to absorb the soaring costs it would appear that we're most likely beyond the point of no return: Also check out SOTT radio's:

Italian police uncover fake 'green passes' network

A nurse who 'simulated' the inoculation has been arrested and a total of 50 people are being interrogated
Police in Italy have arrested a nurse on suspicion of "simulating" administering a Covid-19 inoculation as part of an illegal network to provide anti-vaccine bribers with sought-after 'green passes.'

According to a statement from the Ancona police, a major investigation, covering several provinces in central Italy, helped to "discover a corruptive system that allowed those who did not want to get vaccinated to obtain the certificates anyway."

Out of 50 people who "now have to answer for the crimes of corruption, wrong ideology and embezzlement," a nurse in charge of Covid-19 jabs at a vaccination center in Ancona has been jailed, while four suspected "mediators" have been placed under house arrest. The other 45 have been ordered to remain in their municipalities and to report daily to the police. Searches by law enforcement officers carried out as part of the investigation also uncovered some €18,000 ($20,460) of suspected illicit profits.

Comment: It's now widely acknowledged that vaccination does not prevent infection nor transmission, and so it begs the question: just why are the government, using their security apparatus - that is ostensibly there to protect citizens - hellbent on coercing as many people as possible into suffering the experimental injections? Security forces in Kazakhstan have detained 9,900 people regarding last week's unrest, the interior ministry of the central Asian nation said on Tuesday.

The news comes as President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, who called the violence a coup attempt, is set to nominate a new prime minister in an address to parliament later in the day.

The oil-rich former Soviet republic says government buildings were attacked in several major cities after initially peaceful protests against hikes in the price of car fuel turned violent.

Comment: Following President Tokayev's speech exposing the coup attempt, that involved foreign forces as well as internal elements, a 'wave of suicides' was reported to have swept through Kazakhstan's officials.
