Policemen stand in position during an operation against drug dealers in Jacarezinho slum in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil May 6, 2021. At least 25 people, including a police officer, were killed in a shootout on Thursday during an operation against drug traffickers in Rio de Janeiro's Jacarezinho slum, police said.
At least 25 people have been killed after heavily armed police stormed one of Rio de Janeiro's largest favelas in pursuit of drug traffickers, in what was the deadliest raid in the city's history.

About 200 members of Rio's civil police launched their incursion into Jacarezinho in the early hours of Thursday, sprinting into the vast redbrick community as a bullet-proof helicopter circled overhead with snipers poised on each side. By lunchtime at least 25 people were reported dead, among them André Frias, a drug squad officer who was shot in the head. Police and local media described the other victims as "suspects" but offered no immediate evidence for that claim.

Photographs and videos taken by residents and shared with the Guardian showed bloodied corpses splayed out in the favela's narrow alleyways and beside the heavily polluted river from which Jacarezinho takes its name. The lifeless body of one young man had been propped up on a purple plastic garden chair, with one finger placed inside his mouth.

Schools in Piedmont, California offered "support circles" for students after the verdict in the murder trial of former cop Derek Chauvin, though officials have since apologized for giving this service to white kids too.

Piedmont schools offered these "restorative support circles" based on race, according to emails obtained by SFGate.

"We are offering a restorative community circle to support White students who would like to discuss how the trial, verdict, and experiences related to the George Floyd murder are impacting you," Cheryl Wozniak, the assistant superintendent of educational services at Piedmont Unified School District, said in an email reportedly sent to students and staff at Millennium and Piedmont high schools last month.

Comment: God forbid white students be offered any kind of counseling service. They've got their privilege to protect them.

Students at Woodrow Wilson Elementary School in South Salt Lake wear masks as the get on a bus to go home after their first day of school on Aug. 24, 2020.
School boards are where mini-dictators are grown. Thus the latest exhibit comes from South Salt Lake, Utah and the Granite School District Board of Education meeting.

The board was going to hear proposals of removing the mask mandate for K-12 students. However, they would only allow one parent to speak during "citizen participation time", a control method for keeping the pesky proles from expressing their opinion of board policy.

After the board allowed a mask advocate from the state to speak, the School board said that's it, no more discussion. Parents became infuriated, things got ugly [VIDEO Below]. The board ended the meeting and escaped out the back-door of the building.

Comment: The parent rebellion continues.

Biological male weightlifter who identifies as female and competes against women poised to become first transgender Olympian

Laurel Hubbard

Weightlifter Laurel Hubbard — a biological male who identifies as female and has competed against women for several years — is poised to become the first-ever transgender athlete to compete in the Olympic Games, Inside the Games reported.

What are the details?

The outlet said the New Zealander has been "effectively guaranteed a place at the delayed Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games after the approval of an amended qualifying system by the International Olympic Committee."

Since so many Olympic-qualifying competitions had been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the IOC devised a new system reducing the number of competition performances needed for qualification, Inside the Games said.

Hubbard's best qualifying total is 285 kilograms, the outlet said — which is a bit over 628 pounds — and that puts the weightlifter "very much in the reckoning for a place on the podium in the women's super-heavyweights in Tokyo."

Nightmare on Zuckerberg Street? Facebook wants to make sure you have the right friends with hyperlocal 'Neighborhoods' feature

The multi-billion-dollar social media platform Facebook has announced the debut of a new super-local feature called "Neighborhoods," aimed at challenging hyperlocal social media networks like Nextdoor and "making new friends."

Rather than simply alerting friends halfway around the world to what their internet pen pals are doing, Facebook has vowed to inform nearby users via a new and improved algorithm if it thinks the pair might be compatible - a semi-creepy feature that could either cement actual friendships or foment algorithmic stalking.

However, product manager Reid Patton insists the new Facebook Neighborhoods will please the users by giving them extra information about their friends - in this case notifying the user exactly how the suggested friend might integrate into their inner friend circle.

Comment: With each new 'feature' Big Tech rolls out, we inch closer and closer to our very own "social credit system". And with Facebook, Google, Amazon and the like at the helm, it's likely not going to go well for the rest of us.

Orion, 3, has a sensory processing disorder that his family believed may have made it difficult for him to keep his mask on the entire flight.
Southwest Airlines reportedly booted a family with a disabled toddler off a flight — over fears the child would remove his face mask, which he was wearing at the time.

Caroline Scott, of Northglenn, Colorado, advised the airline about 3-year-old Orion's sensory processing disorder before their flight to Florida on Friday, KDVR reported.

She also provided a note from Orion's doctor and an occupational therapist amid fears that he might have trouble keeping the mask on for the whole flight to Fort Lauderdale, according to the outlet.

The family said the boy was buckled in his seat and had his mask on when a Southwest employee suddenly ordered them off the plane at the captain's request.

What about the children?

No to the Prick
© EricPetersAuto
A child just died - but not because of the 'Rona. Essentially no children have died because of the 'Rona.

But a 15-year-old Colorado boy just died from the "cure." Which apparently triggered a heart attack - a thing that rarely-to-almost-never kills healthy 15-year-olds. His heart was fine on April 18, when he received the Pfizer "cure" for the 'Rona that stood a next-to-nil chance of killing him or any other healthy child. He was dead on April 20, two days after receiving his Holy Needling.

If this is a coincidence, then so is the tide.

It's also not the only such "coincidence."

Another child - this time a 16-year-old girl who lived in Wisconsin - is no longer living, anywhere. She also died within 48 hours of receiving the "cure" for a sickness she didn't have, that she wasn't likely to get and which - if she did get it - was as likely to kill her as a cheerleading accident.

This isn't "conspiracy theory." It is admitted to fact, by the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) which keeps track of such things. Two dead kids constitutes quite an "adverse event" - given that kids are as close to being immortal as it gets. Accidents being the greatest risk of death they face.

But this was deliberate.

Perhaps not intentionally so - but does that matter? If some fool doesn't intend to run a red light but does anyway - and kills you - does the intent matter to your now-dead self?

And this "cure" is intentional.

Dutch ministers seek to simplify procedure to CHANGE GENDER on birth certificate, so that even a CHILD can do it

Two Dutch ministers have submitted an amendment to parliament that would scrap the age limit and expert statement, to simplify changing gender on birth certificates, following pressure from transgender groups.

Comment: So a child could 'change' their gender, but can't smoke, drink, drive, vote or get a loan?

The legislative amendment to the Transgender Act was submitted by the legal protection minister and emancipation minister to the Lower House of Parliament. "Persons whose gender identity does not correspond to the sex determined at birth can, under certain conditions, change their gender in the birth certificate," a release published on the website of the Dutch government says.

According to the statement, more people want to change their gender registration, with the numbers rising from 460 in 2016 to 640 in 2018. The amendment was put forward in order "to do justice to the emancipation of transgender people."

Comment: This could be a sign of rising social contagion, and is not something the government necessarily want to help facilitate. Further, why would the government want to radically changing definitions and (at least attempt to) subvert science in order to cater to a vanishingly small number of disordered people?

Comment: It's telling that governments throughout the Western world are maneuvering society in a similar direction, and all without any democratic mandate:

Mom's comment may have led to New Jersey man's Capitol breach arrest

Robert Lee Petrosh

The FBI on Thursday said Robert Lee Petrosh was seen in photos inside the Capitol building on Jan. 6.
A comment by a New Jersey man's mother may have led to his arrest for allegedly participating in the Jan. 6 breach of the Capitol.

Robert Lee Petrosh of Mays Landing is charged with disorderly conduct in a restricted building and other offenses. A criminal complaint filed Wednesday says the FBI received an online tip that Petrosh had been in the Capitol building that day.

A few days after the online tip was shared, someone called the FBI to report that Petrosh has entered the Capitol on Jan. 6. The caller stated that their grandmother was 'good friends' with Petrosh's mother, and that Petrosh's mother had told their grandmother that he went inside the Capitol on that day.
