State troopers demand exit from NYC after bans on use of force

The head of the New York State Troopers union is demanding all state police be removed from the New York City over looming reforms.
The president of the State Police association is demanding troopers be removed from New York City after the passage of policing restrictions this Wednesday. The request, which was filed to the New York State Police superintendent, stated the city's new regulations would harm officers' ability to perform their duties, and place them in legal jeopardy.

"This poorly conceived bill, which will be signed into law by Mayor de Blasio today, puts an undue burden upon our Troopers," Association President Thomas Mungeer wrote. "It will prevent Troopers from safely and effectively arresting resistant subjects."

The proposed exit comes in the midst of a historic crime surge in the city. Shootings have nearly doubled this year, with 53 new victims from this past weekend alone. Yet this hasn't stopped the city from slashing police budgets and pushing through a wish-list of laws restraining officers.

In a discussion about why she is supporting Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election, radical Marxist and former Black Panther Angela Davis explained Monday that while Biden is by no means an ideal candidate for the radical left, he is the "candidate who can be most effectively pressured."

RealClear Politics brought attention to a tweet by J Michael Waller of the Center for Security Policy that contained the clip of Davis appearing on Russia Today's (RT) Going Underground.

Multiple shooters involved in incident that leaves 13 people shot on Peoria's riverfront

Peoria police say multiple shooters were involved in an incident on Peoria's riverfront early Sunday morning that left 13 with gunshot wounds.

A man was shot in a separate incident late Saturday night just south of Downtown Peoria.

The brutal weekend has seen 17 people shot with one death since Friday night.

Peoria Police spokeswoman Amy Dotson said none of the injuries as of 6:45 a.m. were deemed to be life-threatening.

Comment: RT adds:
Gunfire is not an unusual sound in Peoria. Though the city is home to only 110,000 people, a CBS News investigation last year ranked it the 18th deadliest city in the country, coming in only two places behind neighboring Chicago. The shooting is at least the second such act of violence in the small city this weekend.

Two men were shot in the early hours of Saturday morning, with one dying in hospital. Police have no leads on the suspect, but the incident is under investigation. The death was the city's seventh homicide this year.

The blast occurred a few weeks after an explosion ripped through Iran's Natanz facility for enriching uranium, in an incident that was reportedly caused by a bomb.

An explosion took place at a power plant in Iran's central Isfahan Province on Sunday, the country's IRNA news agency reports.

The news outlet cited Saeid Mohseni, chief executive of Isfahan Power Generation Co., as saying that the blast did not disrupt the plant's electricity supply to customers.

"The damaged equipment is being repaired", he said, adding that the power station resumed operations about two hours after the explosion.

The incident reportedly took place due to a technical problem at the plant and did not cause any casualties.

Comment: Other incidents have followed on including a fire at a manufacturing plant and an explosion along a pipeline:
A factory located close to the town of Sheikh Hassan, in Northwestern Iran has caught fire, according to the Iranian Labour News Agency (ILNA).

Firefighters from the Iranian cities of Khosrowshah and Sardrud promptly arrived on the scene of the major blaze at a cellophane printing company situated southwest of Tabriz, ILNA reported. No casualties have been reported so far. The cause of the fire remains unknown.

Knife crime in England and Wales highest in over nine years

Knife crime in England and Wales rose to its highest level since comparable statistics began to be gathered nine years ago, with London reporting a 28% annual rise in knife killings over the past year.

Offences involving knives or sharp instruments in England and Wales rose 6% to 46,265 in the year to March 2020, 51% higher than when comparable figures began in 2011, according to police data published on Friday by Britain's Office for National Statistics.

London, which accounted for just over a third of knife crime, saw a 7% rise in offences.

"The number of homicides involving the use of a knife or sharp instrument in London increased from 67 to 86, a 28% increase," the ONS said.

While knife crime rose, there was a 4% decrease in firearms offences and a 9% decrease in burglary across England and Wales. Data for the city of Manchester in northwest England was excluded due to problems with a new computer system in the city.

The increase in knife crime recorded by the police contrasts with a longer-term decline in violent crime measured by an ONS survey of the public, which is its lowest since that survey began in 1981 and more than 70% below its peak in 1995.

Comment: And it continues:
Police and ambulance services have been dispatched to Broadgate Circle in Central London, after two people were stabbed. The area in the financial district is filled with restaurants and bars.

"Our officers are currently dealing with an isolated incident in Broadgate Circle, in which two people have been stabbed," City of London Police said in a statement.

The injuries are not life-threatening, according to initial reports.

Londoners have been urged to stay clear of the area, which is just outside the Liverpool Street tube station.

Friday evening's incident comes after two fatal stabbings the day before in the north London districts of Kilburn and Enfield. Data published by the Office of National Statistics on Friday showed that knife crimes in England and Wales had risen six percent to a record high over the past year, with homicides up by 10 percent.

The latest 'Left eats its own': Petition started to pressure Trader Joe's to remove 'racist packaging' food names

Petition urges grocer to rename ethnic food brands, including Trader José's, Trader Ming's.

A petition is asking Trader Joe's to remove "racist packaging" from its ethnic food products following moves by other brands from Aunt Jemima, Uncle Ben's and Eskimo Pie to the Washington NFL franchise.

The Change.org petition was started two weeks ago and had more than 925 signatures as of Saturday afternoon. It says the grocer "labels some of its ethnic foods with modifications of 'Joe' that belies a narrative of exoticism that perpetuates harmful stereotypes," noting how Trader Ming's is used to brand the chain's Chinese foods and Trader José's for Mexican foods.

But the chain, considered one of America's favorite grocery stores, says it already has begun work to phase out the names and while its approach to product naming "may have been rooted in a lighthearted attempt at inclusiveness, we recognize that it may now have the opposite effect."

'White penises jeopardize your melanin': Boston BLM leader and Democrat organizer unleashes race mixing tirade against opponent

A video of BLM campaigner Monica Cannon-Grant, who's been honored by Democrats in Boston, shows her unleashing a racist rant against a black Republican politician, telling her to shut up because she "rides white penises."

Cannon-Grant's work on the Black Lives Matter cause has seen her honored by Boston Mayor Marty Walsh, Massachusetts Rep. Joe Kennedy, and even former presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren. She's been lauded as a "hero among us" by the Boston Celtics. She writes for the Boston Globe, and is currently working to re-elect Rep. Ayanna Pressley and District Attorney Rachael Rollins, both progressive Democrats.

A recent outburst of hers, however, would be unprintable on the Globe's pages.

In a video that surfaced late on Friday, Cannon-Grant accused Pressley's opponent - Republican Rayla Campbell - of selling out her race by marrying a white man.

Questions raised after fatal motorcycle crash listed as Florida COVID-19 death

Covid puzzle
A person who died in a motorcycle accident was added to Florida's COVID-19 death count, according to a state health official.

FOX 35 News found this out after asking Orange County Health Officer Dr. Raul Pino whether two coronavirus victims who were in their 20s had any underlying conditions. One of his answers surprised us.

"The first one didn't have any. He died in a motorcycle accident," Pino said.

Dr. Pino was asked if the man's data was removed.

"I don't think so. I have to double-check," Pino said. "We were arguing, discussing, or trying to argue with the state. Not because of the numbers -- it's 100...it doesn't make any difference if it's 99 -- but the fact that the individual didn't die from COVID-19...died in the crash. But you could actually argue that it could have been the COVID-19 that caused him to crash. I don't know the conclusion of that one."

There are still two people in their 20s on Orange County's data list for coronavirus deaths.

Comment: He's probably not the only one... There have been similar reports throughout the whole pandemic. There's something of a scandal in the UK right now for just this reason:

Police launch probe into graffiti on monument to SS soldiers, Canadians stunned it even exists

The monument at the St. Volodymyr Ukrainian Cemetery in Oakville ; Ukrainian nationalists march in Lvov on the SS 1st Galician Division anniversary.
News that graffiti on a memorial to Nazi soldiers is being treated as a "hate crime" has stunned many Canadians, who were not only baffled by the police's logic but also seemingly unaware that their country hosted such a monument.

The object in question, which was erected for Ukrainian nationalists who fought for the Nazis as part of the infamous 1st Galician Division of the SS during World War II, had been defaced in late June.

Located at the Saint Volodymyr Ukrainian Cemetery in Oakville, Ontario, the cenotaph reportedly had the words "Nazi war monument" painted on it some weeks ago - pretty accurately describing the essence of this particular memorial.

Comment: Canada was a favorite place to stash cooperative Nazis and Nazi sympathizers from Ukraine after the war. Their legacy continues to poison the world today.

Harvard activist group wants Board of Overseers name changed — because slavery

A Harvard University activist group wants the name of the school's Board of Overseers changed due to the last word's connection to slavery.

According to The Crimson, the Coalition for a Diverse Harvard noted "overseer" has "historically referred to men hired by plantation owners to violently control slaves."

The Board of Overseers is Harvard's "second-highest governing body." The coalition, which advocates "diversity, equity, and inclusion" at the school, has sought the name change for three years.

Coalition board member Jane Sujen Bock said many Board of Overseer candidates "had not previously considered the ramifications of the title's link to slavery." The five candidates supported by the coalition support a name change.

As you might expect, Bock cited the current "anti-racist" atmosphere in the country as leading to a "greater push" for a new name.
