The Saudi-led coalition has renewed a large-scale offensive on the Yemeni port city of Hodeidah, ending a months-long effort led by the UN to bring hostilities to a halt.

"The Saudi-led Arab Coalition forces continue military operations in Yemen's Red Sea Coast, in cooperation with the Joint Yemeni Resistance Forces," Commander of the Arab Coalition taskforce, Brigadier Ali Al Tunaiji, told Emirates News Agency (WAM).

The Arab Coalition and Joint Yemeni Resistance Forces managed to capture a stretch of road between Kilo 6 and Kilo 10 near Hodeidah, cutting off a major Houthi supply route that runs from the port city to other rebel-controlled areas. Saudi-loyal troops were also able to reinforce Kilo 16, Al Tunaiji noted, pointing out that "dozens" of Houthis have either been killed or captured in the renewed offensive.

Alibaba Group co-founder and executive chairman Jack Ma
Chinese billionaire and Alibaba founder Jack Ma said on Tuesday that trade frictions between Washington and Beijing could last for two decades and would be "a mess" for all parties involved.

"It's going to last long; it's going to be a mess," Ma said at an annual conference for Alibaba investors. His remarks came just hours after US President Trump's administration slapped a new round of tariffs on Chinese goods worth $200 billion, with Beijing promising to retaliate.

He added that the trade war will last not for 20 months or 20 days, but "maybe 20 years."

According to Ma, trade tensions between the world's two largest economies would likely impact Chinese and foreign companies immediately and negatively.

The recent growth in the Russian currency has helped the ruble-traded MOEX index reach an all-time high on Tuesday.

The index rose to 2,390 points for the first time in history after the ruble strengthened to 67.7 against the dollar and 79.1 against the euro. Earlier in September, the Russian currency had suffered a deep plunge against reserve currencies amid a new US sanctions threat.

Moscow Exchange's dollar-denominated RTS index also rose on Tuesday. It reached 1,111 points for the first time since August.

"The MOEX index surpassed a historical high due to the strengthening of the ruble, which led to a rise in the price of ruble shares of Mechel, Rusal, Alrosa, AFK Sistema, Magnit, Sberbank," said Artem Deev, leading analyst at Amarkets.

An Air India plane with some 370 passengers on board escaped disaster by just a whisker as it managed to land safely despite a concurrence of adverse conditions.

According to NDTV, the plane from New Delhi to New York was supposed to land at JFK airport on September 11, but landed in Newark instead because of a series of technical failures, bad weather and low fuel.

The commander in charge of the 15-hour flight could be heard fretting approximately 38 minutes prior to landing, as he called Air Traffic Control in New York to say: "We're really, you know, stuck, and there's no fuel."

Flight AI-101 Captain Rustom Palia went on to described how there was only one radioaltimeter functioning and the Traffic Collision and Avoidance System had failed.

Rebecca Anderson, 60, is facing nine counts of child endangerment
The owner of a Texas daycare center has been arrested after a hidden camera reportedly caught her tying small children to their car seats and leaving them in a dark closet for hours.

Rebecca Anderson, 60, is being accused of child endangerment for her treatment of babies and toddlers at her home daycare centre 'Becky's Home Child Care' in Mesquite.

The arrest warrant affidavit alleges that Anderson kept the small children tied up for at least seven hours a day. According to police, Anderson said five kids were inside the house when they arrived on Friday, however four more were found in a dark closet with shoelace-like ropes tied around their necks.

New Mexico sues Google and Twitter for knowingly and illegally exploiting children online, making data breaches easy

Google lawsuit
The state of New Mexico has filed a lawsuit against Google and others for willfully breaking the law to exploit the collection of children's data online.

As YouTube, Google, and Twitter crack down on peaceful channels, censor alternative media, and allow child exploitation videos to flourish, New Mexico has filed a lawsuit against them and several app developers for illegally collecting data from children under the age of 13 without parental consent.

According to UPI, New Mexico Attorney General Balderas said the companies are violating the 1998 Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), a federal law, by collecting and selling the data on children.

"These apps can track where children live, play, and go to school with incredible precision," Balderas said of the insidious practice. "These multi-million-dollar tech companies partnering with app developers are taking advantage of New Mexican children, and the unacceptable risk of data breach and access from third parties who seek to exploit and harm our children will not be tolerated in New Mexico."

Tesla CEO Elon Musk is being sued for libel and slander by a British rescue diver who he called "pedo guy" on Twitter following the rescue of a group of young Thai soccer players who became trapped in a cave in July.

Musk was widely criticized for making the unsubstantiated claim that the British diver, Vernon Unsworth, was a pedophile and "child rapist" on Twitter. Unsworth was a key player in the rescue of the Thai boys and Musk never provided any evidence for the seemingly random claims he made about him.

Denmark set to adopt policies obliging immigrants to integrate into society

Denmark set to adopt policies forcing immigrants to integrate into society

Danish politicians from all sides are considering controversial new integration policies to bring immigrant communities into society - by force if necessary - just weeks after the country introduced a burka ban.

Recent government proposals to be finalised by parliament over the next few weeks target Denmark's so-called "ghetto neighbourhoods" with a series of sanctions and incentives which have been given enthusiastic backing by the left-leaning opposition.

Under the proposals, children living in the targeted areas would be required by law to attend daycare for 25 hours a week to make sure they learn Danish and the country's values and customs.

Immigrant families who take their children back to their countries of origin for long periods could face prison or deportation and crimes committed in the neighbourhoods would carry heavier sentences.

Comment: Mass migration and post-modern, 'liberal', values have enabled and encouraged migrants, under guise of 'multi-culturalism', to create societies which operate parallel, and sometimes in opposition, to the host country. This was not always the case and actually runs contrary to the centuries old wisdom that integration was key. So Denmark - and many other countries across Europe - are being actually being forced to legislate what was formerly an unspoken agreement of the responsibility and expected behaviour of a migrant, who, in return, would be eventually granted citizenship: Also check out SOTT radio's: The Truth Perspective: Weapons of Mass Migration: Interview with Michael Springmann on Europe's Migrant Crisis
