At least 20 were killed and 50 injured in attack on the electoral office of Afghan President Ashraf Ghani's election running mate Amrullah Saleh in Kabul on Sunday, the government said in a statement on Monday.
"The attack started at around 04:30 Sunday afternoon on Afghanistan Green Trend Office with a car bombing which was followed by armed men attack. The attack killed 20 people and wounded 50 more," the statement said.
On Sunday, at least two people were reported killed and 25 more wounded as a result of the bombing that occurred near Saleh's electoral office. Militants detonated an explosive laden vehicle at about 05:00 p.m. local time (12:30 GMT). The country's Interior Ministry said later in the day that the group of four militants stormed Saleh's office following the explosion.
No militant group has claimed responsibility for the bombing so far.
The attack came after electoral campaigns for the upcoming presidential election started earlier in the day. The vote is set to take place on September 28.
Officials from Israel's supreme court had served an eviction notice against Dajani following a ruling last month that the disputed 2005 sale of the historic 40-room hotel to a radical settler group was valid. The Jewish settlers' organisation Ateret Cohanim immediately branded him "a squatter" and threatened to seize the building. Such a move would establish a strategically valuable settler presence just inside Jaffa Gate, the main entrance to the ancient city's Christian Quarter.
According to Dajani, the settlers - who seek to create a Jewish majority throughout the Old City which, along with East Jerusalem, was annexed by Israel in the Arab-Israeli war of 1967 - are enacting "the rape of Jaffa Gate". His family has owned land on nearby Mount Zion for 800 years, and has run the New Imperial since 1949. "From this moment I am embarking on the fight of my life," he said, calling on Christians, Muslims, Jews and world leaders to fall in behind him. "On my back, they will take me out."

"YouTube has now grown to a big city. More bad actors have come into place. And just like in any big city, you need a new set of rules and laws and kind of regulatory regime," Neal Mohan told AFP.
Comment: Not when you're imagining crimes where none exist.
The video platform and other tech companies are facing scrutiny and calls for regulation for their apparent failure to shut down content promoting hate speech, disinformation and the exploitation of minors. They are also accused of biased censorship which silences free speech, and of failing to enforce their own rules.
"We want to make sure that YouTube remains an open platform because that's where a lot of the magic comes from, even though there may be some opinions and voices on the platform that I don't agree with, that you don't agree with," Mohan said.
The company has faced a series of recent controversies, including an "Adpocalypse" (when major advertisers pull their ads) when it was revealed that an algorithm was directing users to videos of children which pedophiles were using to express their sexual thoughts in the comments and to share links to child porn. Many of the videos were monetized.
Comment: Ironically, with these policies - many of which are already in practice - YouTube is becoming more like the propaganda wing of a totalitarian fascist or communist regime.

The Sergeants Benevolent Association said on social media Saturday that the late officer was a sergeant, but neither the union nor the NYPD have identified the officer. Commissioner James O'Neill pleaded with his police force to seek help for any mental health issues that they may be facing.
"To every member of the NYPD, please know this: it is okay to feel vulnerable," O'Neill said in a statement Saturday. "It is okay if you are facing struggles. And it is okay to seek help from others. You may not know this, and it may be hard to imagine, but you are not out there all by yourself."

I can't rightly call my whole audience left-wing or right-wing, conspiracy theorists or anarchists, activists or intellectuals, or almost any other label I can think of. There's only one attribute that comes to mind which unites pretty much all of my readers and social media followers, and that's a drive to know what's really going on in the world. Their curiosity about what's going on in what specific field may differ from person to person, as do the conclusions they reach, but basically I think we're all united by a desire, perhaps often an obsessive one, to come to some understanding of what's really happening in the world.
