Multi-millionaire drug price-gouger Martin Shkreli claims he "doesn't have any cash"

martin shkreli
Ahead of Martin Shkreli's fraud trial which begins next week, the disgraced biopharma executive appeared in court Monday, asking the judge to cut his bail from $5 million to $2 million, citing a lack of funds and the need to pay for his defense and back taxes. He faced were two problems: as prosecutor Alixandra Smith countered, Shkreli has plenty of cash as per his own relentless twitter boasts, and also his self-disclosed net worth.

According to Reuters, Smith said at Monday's hearing that Shkreli had reported his net worth at $70 million when he was arrested in 2015, although as Shkreli's lawyer, Benjamin Brafman, conceded most of that is locked up in stock: while Shkreli still owned a share of Turing Pharma worth $30 to $50 million he could not sell it without the consent of the other partners in the company.

And then there are the tweets. In addition to his self-reported assets, Smith said that Shkreli has plenty of cash citing a recent series of boasts he's made on social media.

Comment: The psychopathic types are shameless.

Schizophrenic man holding a stick is publicly executed by police

Police shot and kill Sergio Valdovinos
On Friday, another man lost his life in a hail of police bullets. Madeira, CA Police shot and killed 32-year-old Sergio Valdovinos, a mentally ill man who police says was swinging at them with a large stick.

Valdovinos was known to police. They'd been out to his home before. In fact, they'd responded to his home on at least 50 occasions over the last two years. He was mentally ill and reportedly suffered from schizophrenia.

For years, his mother had attempted to get him help, to no avail. Surely his condition was wearing on her, as well as the community who lived in adjacent homes. But neither his medical condition nor the frequent police calls to the home were any reason for law enforcement to kill him, according to critics within Valdovinos' family.

Sadly, 70% of Americans think government can protect them from terrorist attacks

Poll of US on terrorist attacks
© Lucas Jackson/Reuters
Seven in ten Americans have a great deal or fair amount of confidence that the US government can protect them from terrorist attacks, a 15-point increase since the massacre in San Bernardino, California in December 2015, a new Gallup poll found.

Gallup has asked the question since the September 2001 terrorist attacks in New York and Washington, DC. Last year's survey showed the confidence at its lowest point of only 55 percent.

Confidence in the government's protection ranged from 73 percent to 82 percent under President George W. Bush, and held at around 75 percent under President Barack Obama until 2015, when it began to slide to 67 percent. Confidence dropped sharply following the San Bernardino attack.

With the increased trust in the government comes a decrease in worry about becoming a victim of terrorism. Only 42 percent now say they are "very" or "somewhat" worried that they or a family member will be a victim, down from 51 percent after San Bernardino and close to the 41-percent average since 1995, when the question was first asked.

Comment: These terrorist attacks, created by the Deep State in government, are doing exactly what they were intended to do:

Police officers attend to the scene after a vehicle collided with pedestrians, Finsbury Park, Britain June 19, 2017.
Islamophobia, or hate crimes perpetrated against Muslims, is still "not taken seriously enough" in Britain, according to campaigners and academics.

Following the terrorist attackin north London's Seven Sisters, which left one dead and 10 in hospital, celebrities and the public alike have criticized outlets of Islamophobic rhetoric.

Among the culprits are tabloid newspapers like the Sun, the UK Independence Party (UKIP), the Leave campaign during the Brexit referendum, and the leader of far-right group Britain First, Paul Golding.

A 17-year old Muslim girl was brutally murdered on her way to a Virginia mosque in the early hours of Sunday. A 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder.

Nabra Hassanen and her friends were on their way back to the All Dulles Area Muslim Society (ADAMS) Center in Sterling, Virginia, after eating breakfast at IHOP at about 3.30am local time, the Washington Post reports, citing the police and ADAMS.

During the last 10 days of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, mosques hold extra prayers at midnight and 2am. ADAMS co-chair Shoyeb Hassan told the Post it's common for members of ADAMS to eat at the nearby IHOP or McDonald's before sunrise, when the daily fast begins.

Activists want to stop preacher Zakir Naik from coming to Lebanon
Activists in Lebanon have launched a campaign to ban Indian preacher Zakir Naik from entering the country, saying his extremist views do not belong in Lebanon.

Naik, who is believed to have become a Saudi citizen last month, is wanted for questioning in India in connection with his alleged role in inspiring one of the 2016 Dhaka terrorist attackers, and over money laundering allegations, which he denies.

The Salafist Islamic preacher and televangelist has over 16 million Facebook followers, while the Peace TV channel he founded is said to reach 100 million viewers.

Comment: Al Jazeera reports more on just how popular Zakir Naik has become:
He has 16 million followers on Facebook, 150,000 on Twitter and has given more than 4,000 lectures on Islam across the world. But Zakir Abdul Karim Naik, the popular televangelist and Islamic preacher, is now wanted by the Indian authorities.

Problems arose for the preacher last summer, after Bangladeshi authorities said that one of the gunmen responsible for an attack on a cafe in the Bangladeshi capital, Dhaka, which left 22 people dead, had been inspired by him.

Bangladesh responded by banning Peace TV, an Islamic channel broadcast from Dubai which Naik founded in 2006 and which claims to reach 100 million people worldwide.

A sign marking the Crooked Hill Road exit on the Sagtikos Parkway was defaced to read "Crooked Hillary," officials said.

Photos posted to social media show that someone had altered the green traffic sign to read "Crooked Hillary," a moniker often used by President Donald Trump during his campaign to refer to Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.

The sign was reported to the State Department of Transportation Wednesday morning and corrected later that day, according to a DOT spokesman.

CNN looks stupid again as online poll shows 70% of people say Trump should not be investigated for obstruction

President Donald Trump
Over 70% of people polled online by CNN say President Trump should not be investigated for obstruction of justice...because not one person can properly explain what exactly Trump was obstructing.

Loretta Lynch and Hillary Clinton on the other hand did obstruct James Comey from pressing forward with his investigation into HRC's email scandal.

America's crumbling infrastructure

ASCE Repot Card
© ASCE
It's no secret that America's infrastructure is in dire need of repairs. Earlier this year, America received her infrastructure report card from the American Society of Civil Engineers' and received a repulsive D+. The ASCE guesstimates the US would need to spend $4.5 trillion by 2025 on infrastructure.

Here's the breakdown of the report card:
  • Aviation: D
  • Bridges: C+
  • Dams: D
  • Drinking Water: D
  • Energy: D+
  • Hazardous Waste: D+
  • Inland Waterways: D
  • Levees: D
  • Parks and Recreation: D+
  • Ports: C+
  • Rail: B
  • Roads: D
  • Schools: D
  • Solid Waste: C+
  • Transit: D-
  • Wastewater: D+
With that being said, I've spent the entire weekend inspecting America's infrastructure at the Port of Baltimore. At some locations, I was given special access to a behind the scenes view of America's crumbling infrastructure that the public is not allowed to see. The reasons you're left out of the know is because it destroys the mainstream narrative that everything is awesome. Even Jack Ma, the founder of Alibaba Group says, "the US wasted trillions on warfare instead of investing in infrastructure".
