Society's Child
Just this month, we've seen Oscar-winning writer/director Paul Haggis come forward suggesting Hollywood is run by a massive pedophile ring. We've seen scores of actresses and actors come forward and actually pointing the finger at their abusers. And, as TFTP reported this week, we've seen at least one of these alleged child predators already lose their job as a result of their alleged abuse.
Quickly coming to the center of this controversy, and finally being taken seriously after years of being ridiculed for blowing the whistle on Hollywood pedophiles, Corey Feldman is speaking out-again.
Last week, Feldman told the world that he had a plan to take down Hollywood's elite child predators. And now, this week, he's revealed that plan. He's also revealed that he believes his life is in danger.
According to Fox Business, President Trump has upheld another one of his promises and is trying to get the monthly payments for all Social Security recipients increased, which is expected to be the largest Social Security increase in years. Still, it is only a $28 increase, which translates to an average of 2.2% increase, but considering the last increase of 0.3 percent, this was a move in the right direction.
By now, the average payment of the 61 million people collecting benefits, was is around $1,253. This 28 dollar increase may not seem like a huge increase now, but it is the first step to something much bigger.
Comment: Trump will get points for this one if he can show this segment of society a monetary difference in their favor. Costs go up, not down. Liberals will cry fowl.
The debate was instigated by Lola Olufemi, a women's officer for the Cambridge University Students' Union, who wrote an open letter, co-signed by around 150 other students, asking for the curriculum to be "decolonized" and broadened to include Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) authors.
"For too long, teaching English at Cambridge has encouraged a 'traditional' and 'canonical' approach that elevates white male authors at the expense of all others. What we can no longer ignore, however, is the fact that the curriculum, taken as a whole, risks perpetuating institutional racism," the letter states.
While Olufemi made no mention of actively excluding white male writers, the constraints of the course would mean that inclusion of new material by BME authors would inevitably mean the omission of existing texts.
In one such example of this, a Canada man, an immigrant from the Middle East, was found not guilty of raping his wife because he was under the impression that he could have sex with her whenever he wanted, even when it was nonconsensual.
Ontario Superior Court Justice Robert Smith acknowledged that numerous occasions of sexual intercourse between the couple were indeed nonconsensual, but said he could not convict the husband because of the lack of criminal intent, or mens rea.
"Marriage is not a shield for sexual assault," wrote Judge Smith in his decision. "However, the issue in this trial is whether, considering the whole of the evidence, the Crown has proven the allegations beyond a reasonable doubt."
According to the BBC, "Both the man and the wife testified that they thought a husband was legally entitled to have sex with his wife whenever he wanted."
"Cutting back a little on meat will help make our city healthier and our planet stronger for generations to come," Mayor Bill de Blasio said in a statement introducing the 'Meatless Mondays' nutrition program. The mayor also said he and his wife, Chirlane McCray, will also go meatless for all Monday meals, including those served to guests at Gracie Mansion, the mayor's residence.

Going vegetarian for one day a week could help reduce the carbon footprint and preserves resources like water, De Blasio argued, saying: "Approximately 1,840 gallons of water are needed to produce a single pound of beef, while only 39 gallons are needed to produce a pound of vegetables."
There are already five schools that have adopted the program. It appears to be limited to a small subset of students in New York City, which has over 1,700 public schools with 1.1 million students.
After many Brooklyn residents arrived at the polls during last year's presidential primary to learn they were deemed ineligible to vote, the good government group Common Cause New York filed suit. State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman and the Brooklyn U.S. Attorney's office joined the litigation.
But rather than slug it out in Brooklyn federal court, the sides have been working on a settlement for months.
Now, a proposed pact slated for filing Wednesday would mandate reforms in the city election agency.

Left: 8 y/o French Jewish girl Mirian Monsonego shot in the head by Mohammed Merah in 2012. Right: Mohammed Merah, murdered seven people before being killed in a stand-off with French Police.
According to France 24, Zoulikha Aziri struggled on Wednesday, not hesitating to aim accusations at her younger son, in a fierce, but rambling and implausible defence of her elder son. Her testimony provoked anger with the family of her sons' victims and incidents with the defence counsels. At the outset, she declared:
"Abdelkader has nothing to do with what has happened, what Mohammed did, it's very serious, but he is dead. (...) Abdelkader was normal, he didn't have problems. Mohammed was crazy (...) from when he was very small, he had problems. He said to me: 'I have a voice in my head.'"Aziri continued to offer contradictory evidence, aimed at putting the blame on Mohammed, in an attempt to weaken the evidence against Abdelkader. This attempt was undermined however, by a relative of the Merah family saying on Tuesday, that Zoulikha Aziri had said after the attacks that she was proud of her son "bringing France to its knees."

Matthew Scully-Hicks, who adopted Elsie with his partner Craig, pictured outside court, is accused of her death
Matthew Scully-Hicks, 31, formally adopted 18-month Elsie with husband Craig, 36, two weeks before she suffered a cardiac arrest and died in May 2016.
The jury at Cardiff Crown Court was today read a number of text messages between Scully-Hicks and his husband and friends.
In one, Scully-Hicks said: "I'm going through hell with Elsie.
"Mealtimes and bedtimes are like my worst nightmare at the minute.
"She has been up there screaming for 10 minutes non-stop.
"She's just stopped but I doubt that's the last I'll hear tonight."
In a message to his husband, Scully-Hicks described Elsie as "Satan dressed up in a babygro" and then added: "Elsie has had two nights of being Satan".
Bruce Paddock was taken into custody moments ago in North Hollywood, CA at an assisted living home.

The four suspects were arrested late Thursday, less than a day after deputies put out surveillance photos of the vandalism at Salem Black River Presbyterian Church, Sumter County Sheriff's spokesman Ken Bell said.
Satanic symbols and phrases were spray-painted on the church's columns and doors on Sept. 29, causing about $3,000 in damage. The door to the church's sanctuary also was kicked in, but deputies don't think the suspects entered, Bell said.
Investigators aren't sure why the four airmen from nearby Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter decided to damage the church, which appears on the National Register of Historic Places. But Sheriff Anthony Dennis has said his department has had to deal with other problems caused by people who say the church is haunted.

Comment: Feldman is looking to raise $10m for the film. So far he has just over $30k donated, with 500 backers. See also:
