Michael March terrified a couple walking past him after banging a foot-long axe on the floor in South Shields
Michael March, 18, is thought to be the first person imprisoned following the craze that swept across the UK.
Newcastle Crown Court heard he terrified a couple walking past him after banging the foot long axe on the floor in South Shields just after 9pm.
The woman, who was 22 weeks pregnant, threw a brick at him in an attempt to defend herself before he ran off.
Jailing him for six months, Judge Jamie Hill QC said: "Brandishing an axe and threatening people in the street is serious whatever the context."
Nicholas Rooke, prosecuting, told the court that after the police were called they traced March via CCTV and found him with the axe and a clown mask in his backpack.
"Regrettably, we can confirm this fact," the DPR's military spokesman, Eduard Basurin, has told journalists.

Employees of the Ministry for Emergency Situations are working at the scene.

Rioters burned cars in the Paris suburb amid simmering anger over the alleged rape of a local man during his arrest last week
Dozens of vehicles and a nursery school were set on fire by youths during standoffs with police in an area of Paris where riots in 2005 drew global attention to the stark contrast between wealthy Paris and the suburbs that surround it.
As well as damaging the nursery school and a car sales outlet, youths had also used a shopping trolley full of petrol bombs, police said.
The trouble began in Aulnay-sous-Bois on Feb. 2 where four police officers were accused of using excessive force while arresting a 22-year-old man, including raping him with a baton.
"For the moment we're talking of very violent but isolated standoffs," said Luc Poignant from the SGP police union.
"I felt that the district was failing my children and that's when I made the decision to homeschool," she said.
Harris says she filed documents at Buffalo City Hall, following all the steps, informing the district of her intent to homeschool her children. According to documents she provided to 7 Eyewitness News, they're dated December 7th and the district says it received her paperwork.
Graphic images of violence from the war in Syria were put up on the sites by a group based in North Africa, which declared it was carrying out the cyberattack in retaliation for the West's aggression in the Middle East.
The Tunisian Fallaga Team attacked the six websites three weeks ago. The sites, all based in the southwest of England, dealt with subjects like child care and funding, according to the Independent.
Patient data was vulnerable in the attacks, but initial checks do not indicate that any information was compromised. It is the first time an IS-linked group has carried out a concerted attack on the NHS.

The Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity house on the campus of Northwestern University in Evanston
Administrators at the Evanston campus issued a security alert to students Monday after being told that as many as four female students may have been given a date-rape drug during an event Jan. 21 at the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity house. Two of those women believe they were then sexually assaulted, according to the report, though it's not clear how the person who reported the alleged incidents knew of them.
The anonymous allegation was made last Thursday, a day before the university received a second anonymous report about a sexual assault at another fraternity house. According to the second report, the attack may have involved a date-rape drug as well.
School officials have not publicly identified the second fraternity. It's unclear if they know the identity of the female student involved in the incident.
Comment: Despite the controversial Rolling Stone rape story at the University of Virginia that turned out be false, campus rape is a very real and ongoing problem in the West. Many students arrive surrounded by a culture of rape, along with a society that too often looks to blame the victim of rape rather than the rapist. More needs to be done to get rid of these cultural norms. See also:

On Friday, the beloved grandfather died in a White County home explosion when he went to check on the heat after the furnace went out. The explosion reportedly damaged seven homes in the area and pushed some off their foundation.
"Losing the house and all of our grandparents' belongings was one thing," granddaughter Katie McDonald told Channel 2, "but when you lose a loved one, the stuff doesn't even matter anymore."
According to officials, a propane gas leak inside the home led to the explosion along 64 Rhododendron Lane in the unincorporated Sautee Nacoochee community. All indications are that the leak came from inside the home, according to David Murphy, the White County director of public safety.
Ireland's Data Protection Commissioner Helen Dixon wants the EU Court of Justice to determine the validity of Facebook's "model contracts" that are represented by common legal arrangements used by thousands of firms to move personal data outside the bloc.
Dixon suggests some of the complaints against the model contracts are "well founded," according to Michael Collins, a lawyer for the commissioner.

Comment: Inessa Sinchougova's tribute to a hero of the Donbass: That's 3 top rebels fighters assassinated 2 months. Assuming Kiev was behind this, and the CIA through them, is this provocation intended to rile the Donbass militias and provoke them into re-engaging with the fascist Ukie horde?
