The proposed legislation, currently being debated by the French parliament, seeks to criminalize photographing or filming the police with intent to cause harm. It would also reportedly give more autonomy to local police, arm more officers nationwide and expand the use of surveillance drones in high-crime areas.
Video shared online purports to show journalists being detained at Tuesday's nationwide protests, which grew increasingly violent as the day wore on.
A former neo-Nazi tells Sky News that video games and extremist content on social media are being used to recruit children.
Children under the age of 10 in the UK are being investigated over their links to far-right extremism, Sky News has found.
Home Office figures show a dramatic rise in the number of under-18s referred to the government's counter-terrorism programme Channel over concerns about their possible involvement with the far-right.

Despite running against an incumbent and trailing by 11% in final polling, Owens prevailed in a race deemed a "toss-up" by Cook Political Report, a "nonpartisan" election and campaign analysis group popular among legacy media outlets.
Ahead of the 2020 election, Cook listed 27 races as "toss-ups," meaning they were too close to predict one way or the other. Republicans won all 27.
That's not a typo. Despite being assured by that conservatism was about to drown beneath an impending "blue wave," Republicans won every single close race.
Republicans also won all 26 races deemed "leaning or likely Republican," and even picked up 7 of the 36 seats listed as "leaning or likely Democrat."
Despite nearly unanimous predictions that Democrats would further cement control of the House, they now hold just a 218-204 advantage, with Republicans poised to pick up more seats, as they lead in 8 of the remaining 13 races.
State Rep. Matt Maddock (R) announced via Parler that he is joining with Reps. Daire Rendon (R), Beau LaFave (R), Ryan Berman (R), and Shane Hernandez (R) on the effort. He said incoming legislators Ken Borton (R) and Steve Carra (R) are supportive, as well. State Sens. Dan Lauwers (R) and Lana Theis (R) are also backing impeachment, Maddock said.
Maddock posted a list of reasons for why he believed Whitmer should be impeached:
- Ignored court orders.
- Violated our Constitutional rights.
- Completely ignored due process and the legislature.
- Weaponized contact tracing databases to aid democrat campaigns.
- Using our kids as political pawns and denied special needs students who depend on the services that occur during in-person classes. Caused the unnecessary death of thousands of our vulnerable elderly who died alone and scared in nursing homes.
Three representatives would be appointed to prosecute the impeachment case in the Senate. Two-thirds of senators must vote to convict the governor in order for her to be removed. Republicans hold a 22-16 majority in that chamber, Ballotpedia reported, so at least three Democrats would need to vote affirmatively for removal.

Susan, a disability service coordinator who works with developmentally disabled adults who live in various assisted living facilities and group homes in and around Milwaukee, says every one of her more than 20 clients told her that they were either pressured to vote for Democratic candidate Joe Biden or had a vote cast for Biden before they ever had a chance to see their ballot.
"I haven't been able to see them in person since March because of COVID, but we do Zoom calls regularly," said Susan, whose name has been changed to protect her identity, as she fears reprisal for coming forward. "Right after the election, one of my clients said that he voted for Biden but didn't want to."
Susan was confused, so she asked him what he meant.

How Governor Andrew Cuomo views Thanksgiving for New Yorkers
Cuomo's order is insulting to our intelligence and is disgustingly authoritarian. COVID science suggests gathering outdoors is relatively safe (it's why so many states have offered restaurants money to winterize their patio dining), yet Cuomo tells families they cannot do it for Turkey Day. What if you live in a rural area and have a large backyard that makes social distancing possible? Cuomo's rule offers no such exceptions. Nor are there exceptions if families are responsible and decided to self-quarantine for a period of time before meeting their relatives for the holidays. There's something very eerie about the thought of government authorities going door-to-door and fining people for gathering with their own family members. It shouldn't be surprising, though, from the same governor that has targeted the Orthodox Jewish community for continuing to hold religious services.
Comment: Who's the turkey? Many New Yorkers have a good idea!

'I Am Greta' (2020) Dir: Nathan Grossman
"I don't actually see the world in black and white. It's just the climate issue I see in black and white. Sometimes I feel that it might be good if everyone had a bit of Asperger's. At least when it comes to the climate."
These are the closing remarks from the star of I Am Greta, about the climate-campaigning sensation Greta Thunberg. But perhaps those comments tell us more about the state of politics today than they do about the climate issue.
Comment: Those who have really looked into Thunberg's trajectory from obscure protesting student to voice on the world platform, have long since realized she is a product, a brand created to market a particular form of ecofacism to gullible youth. Unsupervised and unscripted, she is barely able to hold her own in a normal social situation. Her parents should be charged with abuse for allowing her to be exploited.
