Society's Child
According to a survey just published by ADF International, 40 percent of students fear that their careers will be adversely affected if they speak out.
The survey confirms what previous studies have noted. Last year a report by the British think-tank Policy Exchange found that only four in 10 Brexit supporters felt able to express their views in their university class.
Once upon a time, universities were places where free and open debate dominated campus culture. Students held forth with the most outrageous views and everyone knew that they did not have to conform to received wisdom. That world has vanished in recent decades. Speech is heavily policed by zealous activists, whose censorious project is supported by campus administrators.

A couple of days ago, I took the risk of responding to an official tweet by the South Wales Police Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender association after they proudly announced that they were "giving our officers and staff the ability to show their support by wearing trans epaulettes and LGBT+ 'thin blue line' patches on their uniforms."
At the peril of being labelled reactionary or worse, I tweeted back stating that it was an "appalling misjudgement", adding: "It is not for serving police officers to visibly display support for any political or special interest group. They must be apolitical.".
Pekary, who left the liberal cable news network in August, dropped the bombshell about her former employer's alleged election bias in a series of tweets on Sunday, after Yang teased her appearance on his podcast.
"Actually, I just reviewed my journal. On 4/25/19, I was told that we were never to pursue Andrew for an interview on our show (along with several others)," Pekary tweeted, adding that the names of welcome and unwelcome guests were "dictated" from above without any explanation given.
The same day Pekary claimed she was given the message, Joe Biden announced his run for presidency.
The details of the scheme are still being ironed out by officials in Whitehall, who hope it will allow the country to get back to normal next year.
To earn the freedom pass, people will need to be tested regularly and, provided the results come back negative, they will then be given a letter, card or document they can show to people as they move around.
The certificate would be stored on a phone, according to sources, and would allow people to live a relatively normal life until the government's vaccination programme gets up to the speed.
It would even allow Britons to get away without wearing a mask, it is thought, and visit family and friends without the need to socially distance.
Several people protesting coronavirus restrictions in Germany that seek to tamp down new infections have tried to depict themselves as victims of government persecution. Some have even put on Stars of David, symbols that the Nazis forced Jews to wear during the Third Reich before they killed them.
The woman spoke on stage Saturday evening in the northern city of Hannover, telling fellow protesters "I feel like Sophie Scholl, since I've been active in the resistance, giving speeches, going to protests, distributing flyers."
Scholl fought the Nazis with her brother and other members of the resistance group White Rose. After distributing flyers at a Munich university, she was convicted of high treason and was executed at age 22 by the Nazis in 1943.
"Oh my God, Murphy, you are such a d-k," one woman could be heard telling the governor in the video seen more than 1.2 million times since it was posted by Breaking 911 on Sunday night.
"You're having fun with your family, in the meantime you're having all kind of bulls-t going on?" another female voice heckled the politician as he dined outside with wife Tammy and their four children.
The governor — who recently introduced new restrictions in the Garden State in the run-up to Thanksgiving — initially laughed off the hecklers and went back to his meal.

Leftist activists, including members of Black Lives Matter (Brazil) occupy a Carrefour chain supermarket to protest the killing of a black man by private security guards.
A short clip showed one guard restraining João Alberto Silveira Freitas just outside the doors of a Carrefour supermarket while the other pummeled him with repeated blows to the face. A store employee stood to the side filming. Other clips, shot afterward, showed a guard kneeling atop Freitas' back.
Dozens of protesters entered a Carrefour in Brazil's capital, Brasilia, on Friday morning, chanting "Black lives matter!" One held a sign reading: "Don't shop at Carrefour. You could die". Inside another Carrefour in Rio de Janeiro, protesters shouted "Carrefour Killer!" as a black man lay still atop the conveyor belt at a checkout. They forced the store's closure.
Comment: It's remarkable how similar this is to the BLM protests/riots in the US in June, in terms of both its 'sparking incident', its paramoralistic ideological basis ('structural racism') and details like 'black lives matter' being painted in Portuguese in large letters on a major thoroughfare in Sao Paulo:
This cluster of themes would appear then to be some sort of globalist 'package', drumming up counter-protests to divide and distract people from the one true cause the silent majority is uniting against: the planet-wide Covid-1984/Agenda2030 operation to enslave us all.
Brazil is of course (nominally) governed by Jair Bolsonaro, the 'Trump of Brazil'. Now that the CIA appears to have unseated Trump as president of the US, is Bolsonaro next in their sights?
By the way, this is a photo of Joao Alberto, the Black Brazilian these riots are about 'honoring' (celebrating? avenging?)...

Sidney Powell, author of the bestseller "Licensed to Lie" and lead counsel in more than 500 appeals in the Fifth Circuit, in Washington on May 30, 2019.
This woman had quite a career behind her. An evangelical Christian, she'd been a federal prosecutor — and quit, outraged at the corruption she saw among her colleagues. She did more than quit. Horrified by prosecutors hiding exculpatory evidence and targeting the innocent because of their personal politics, she became a defense attorney, to help people fight the feds.
She Gave Up Everything to Expose Abusive Prosecutors
But that wasn't enough. At a huge financial sacrifice, she took time off from her practice to write a book. And self-publish it. And hire a public relations firm to get it out to people, when media ignored it. That book, Licensed to Lie, is absolutely chilling. It shows innocent Americans, even a U.S. Senator such as Ted Stevens of Alaska, unable to defend themselves against prosecutors with vendettas. It recounts how innocent companies, like accounting firm Arthur Anderson, can be broken by biased and dishonest federal prosecutors, and left in ruins. A real-life legal horror story, the book was too disturbing for me to read it through to the end.
And its author was Sidney Powell, whom I used to go to lunch with in midtown Manhattan. In retrospect, I feel privileged. I knew she was a powerhouse, but I little suspected what an historic role she would someday play. When I saw that she was representing General Mike Flynn, I knew one thing for sure — that he was innocent.
Comment: The nature of Powell's allegations is a bit greyer than either side admits. Some claims are probably true (e.g. relating to massive election fraud involving the vote machines), others not so much (e.g. details like those from the Venezuelan whistleblower - but even then, some WikiLeaks docs at least show that they aren't a brand new fabrication - questions over Dominion's ties with Venezuela have been around since at least 2006). Some will probably be impossible to verify, like "Hammer and Scorecard," and perhaps the "German Scytl server" stories. Due to "national security", she can probably get away with making some of these claims, even if they are untrue, because the truth - or falsity - of them can and will never be revealed. And as long as Powell does not focus on the Venezuelan's claims to the extent that the Democrats focused on Steele's dodgy dossier - and risk a similar fallout if his credibility is thrown into question - she'll probably be fine on that front. The only real advantage of repeating his claims is to exploit the American climate of "foreign interference" hysteria prompted by the Dems' Russiagate.
All that said, it seems that Powell is making the claims she is making because she believes them. Whether they turn out to be true - in whole or in part - remains to be seen, of course. But we wouldn't put money on Dominion going after her. Even if some of her accusation against them could be false, they seem dirty enough to want to avoid any lawsuit in which the actual truth might come to light.
The offending piece, penned by the BBC's 'LGBT Correspondent' Ben Hunte, delves into legal proceedings being brought against Britain's National Health Service by a fourteen-year-old transgender boy, who claims that he has experienced unacceptable delays in beginning gender reassignment treatment.
The teenager, named "Reece" in the article, has been waiting for over a year for a referral to the only NHS gender clinic for children and young adults. The Good Law Project, a nonprofit organization that aims to "use the law to protect the interests of the public," is representing Reece. The group has argued that the NHS has a legal obligation to provide care to their client within 18 weeks, or to provide an alternative, such as private or overseas treatment. The NHS, facing a backlog of children and young people being referred to the gender clinic, is currently carrying out a review of how it processes such cases.

Over the next three years, the department will develop new software, enabling the government to more efficiently store data collected about people inside the country. The agency also noted that such a database would allow quicker identification of dead bodies, if necessary.
Speaking to Moscow news agency TASS, a source explained that the database will also include genomic information.

Comment: While the comparison to fighting Nazis in this context may seem over-the-top on the surface, in some ways it would appear to be quite valid. For those aware of the draconian nature of the lockdowns, given the actual facts about the virus, and the eventual policy of mandatory vaccination (which will likely contain many dangerous substances and DNA-degrading features), not to mention the finer of control in the form of chips that will be included in the same - the comparison to the policies of the Pathocratic Nazi regime seem pretty apt.
Unfortunately though, there are those who do not understand this perspective, and who have been 'weaponized' to - in fact - call the truth-tellers Nazis. Nothing too surprising in the age of Orwellian double speak.
Antifa has been an exemplary example of such a weaponized force as demonstrated in this counter protest:
