Mexico's 2,764 homicide victims in October is the most recorded in any month over the last 20 years, according to data collected by the country's federal government.

The new data puts 2017 on pace to be the most violent year in Mexico since the government began releasing homicide data in 1997.

Federal data also showed that 2,371 homicide investigations, which can include more than one victim, were opened in October - the highest monthly total over the past two decades.

More than 100 reindeer were killed by freight trains in Norway within four days in what locals are calling "a psychological nightmare".

The deer in the north of the country fell victim to the trains while undertaking their winter migration from mountainous regions towards the coast. A single train mowed down 65 of the animals on Saturday while a further 41 were killed between Wednesday and Friday.

"I'm so angry that I'm dizzy," reindeer herder Ole Henrik Kappfjell, told Norwegian broadcaster NRK. "It's a senseless animal tragedy...a psychological nightmare."

Documentary filmmaker Jon Erling Utsi captured photos showing the reindeer's grisly end. "It was a nightmare to watch," Utsi said to the state broadcaster. "The worst thing was the animals that were not killed in the accident, they were lying there, suffering, it was a bloodbath over several kilometers."

Delusional Democratic pollster: The Republican Party 'is a domestic terror group'

Fernand Amandi
On Saturday's broadcast of MSNBC's "AM Joy," Democratic pollster Fernand Amandi stated the Republican Party isn't a political party, it is "a domestic terror group."

Comment: Where do you even start on taking apart this delusional rant!? This is emblematic of Trump's liberal critics becoming increasingly unhinged and authoritarian. And accusing the Republicans of being pro-pedophilia is rich considering every Democrat presidential candidate in 25 years had pedophile ties. And what about the creepy Podestas and that whole Pizzagate fiasco? The hypocrisy of Democrat apologists is truly stunning!

Oklahoma: Toddler dies after swallowing battery

button battery batería
A 2-year-old girl in Oklahoma died after doctors said she swallowed a battery smaller than a coin.

Kent Vice said his granddaughter, Brianna Florer, was not feeling well for a few days, but it appeared to be just a low-grade fever. After several days, she started throwing up blood and turned blue.

Brianna's parents, Brian and Stephanie Florer, called an ambulance and the toddler was rushed to the hospital, where she immediately went into emergency surgery. She later died at the hospital.

An X-ray revealed that Brianna had swallowed a small, button-sized battery.

"They operated on her for two hours, but they couldn't stop the bleeding," Vice said. "They believed the battery ate through to her carotid artery by way of her esophagus. One minute she is perfect, and the next minute she is dead. We had no idea when she swallowed [the battery]."

Aging hippies' attacks on the family have created an entitled generation

hippies 60s'
Fewer Millennials and youth in Generation Z are moving out of their parents' homes than in recent previous generations. For the first time in the modern era, more 18 to 34-year-olds live with their parents than in any other type of arrangement. That percentage reached its lowest point 45 years ago. In 1960, 62 percent of the nation's 18 to 34-year-olds were living with a spouse or partner in their own household, and only one-in-five were living with their parents.

How did this happen? The younger generations are used to their parents providing them with iPhones and cars. They're less likely to have gotten jobs in high school and paid for those things themselves, or to have saved for college. This is because Baby Boomers - the hippy generation - raised the Millennials. The Boomers revolted against their traditional parents and indulged their children. It's been described as the "Me Generation" raising the "Me Me Me Generation." Instead of taking on the tough parenting role of teaching their kids economics and the value of saving, they took the easy route and spoiled them.

Singer Morrissey supports hypothetical assassination of Donald Trump 'for the safety of humanity'

Morrissey
British singer Morrissey said he'd kill President Trump "for the safety of humanity" if given the option to eliminate him instantly.

The outspoken former frontman for The Smiths answered affirmatively during a recent interview with German magazine Der Spiegel in response to a hypothetical question about being able to kill Mr. Trump with the push of a button.

Comment: It looks like being a life-long vegetarian has impacted Morrissey's brain, or at the very least, is indicative of his questionable morality (the singer has been quoted as saying 'eating meat is as bad as paedophilia', for example). Last week, good ole' Moz, in an interview with Der Spiegel, shocked audiences by defending Kevin Spacey and Harvey Weinstein, blaming the victims for what happened .

One would think the singer would be more sympathetic to victims of sexual assault, given the fact that he was a victim himself. So when all is said and done, is it any surprise that a person of questionable mental and moral soundness would be willing to assassinate Trump? He'd probably stick Killary in to replace him.

Insecticide lethal to Monarch Butterflies will be used during biological weapons simulation in Oklahoma

biological warfare
Biological weapons might be as far from the minds of typical Americans as they are remote in threat potential; yet, the Department of Homeland Security is planning a live simulation of a bio attack - in a small Oklahoma town on the Kansas border.

Unsurprisingly, the town's residents are none too thrilled about the plan.

DHS announced last week it plans the biological weapons simulation for early in 2018 - and, again, during the summer - at the Chilocco Indian School, seven miles north of the town of Newkirk. FOX23 reports a legal notice appearing in local media stated "non-hazardous, non-toxic" chemicals and biological materials will be released on buildings in the area to determine how much protection structures would offer, should a real attack take place.

"I just got sick to my stomach," Dennis Jordan, a resident of Newkirk, told KOCO. "I think if they want to test that stuff, let them go to Los Alamos, you know? I think it's stupid."

Comment: Maybe there is nothing to get worked up about. Remember the Jade Helm psy-ops? On the other hand, this exercise certainly is a data point of sorts.

Mistaken for a deer: Pickup truck a new victim of botched hunting in NY state

Deer
© Toby Melville / Reuters
It is the second case of mistaken identity involving hunters and innocent victims in the same area of New York State in less than a week.
For the second time in less than a week, New York state police were called to the woods to respond to a hunting mishap. This time, a brown truck was mistakenly fired upon by a local hunter who mistook it for a deer.

Robert Merritt called 911 at approximately 11:10am local time to report that the truck he and his fellow passenger were travelling in was shot at and disabled as they were heading towards the Wiltsie Road State Lands.

Marvin C. Miller was hunting on the state lands when he mistook the passing brown pickup truck for a deer and fired one round from his 7mm scoped rifle. The round struck the driver's side front fender but thankfully missed both occupants by several feet. Miller did, however, manage to damage the engine compartment enough to bring the truck to a stop. Miller rushed to check that the occupants were ok before authorities arrived on scene.

The politicization of sexual assault and campus counsellors

Woman on the street
A few years ago, a student came to my office in tears. Earlier in the day she'd stood in the doorway of the computer lab, telling me she didn't think she would make it through class. Her face had been swollen and tear-stained. She was a confident young woman, so her appearance surprised me. When I expressed concern, she said she would drop by my office later. It was the last day of the spring semester.

When she showed up, she told me she'd been sexually assaulted several days earlier. We'd established a good rapport over the semester, and so I did my best to console her. She seemed convinced her life had been ruined, but did not want to go to the police. A visit to a rape crisis centre had left her shaken.
