Toronto mass shooting: Two people killed, multiple injured

Toronto Mass Shooting
A 10-year-old girl from the GTA and an 18-year-old Toronto woman are the two people killed in the shooting rampage Sunday night on the Danforth, police say.

During a brief update Monday, police said of the 15 victims shot, eight were women. They range in age from 10 to 59 years old.

The 29-year-old gunman was also killed.

Police would not speculate on a motive for the shooting, including whether the gunman was deliberately targeting women.

US swimmer Ryan Lochte has been banned for 14 months after posting an image of himself on social media receiving an intravenous infusion.

The US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) announced the sanction against the 12-time Olympic medalist in a statement on Monday.

"On May 24, 2018, Lochte, 33, posted an image on social media depicting himself receiving an intravenous infusion," USADA said in a press release.

"A subsequent investigation by USADA, with which Lochte fully cooperated, revealed that Lochte received an intravenous infusion of permitted substances at an infusion clinic in a volume greater than 100 mL in a 12-hour period without a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE)."

Israeli forces have evacuated several hundred White Helmets and their family members from southern Syria to Jordan at the request of several Western countries. The move has been labeled a "criminal operation" by Damascus, who believes the NGO's members have cooperated with extremists and plotted several false flag attacks.

At least four commanders from various Syrian militant groups were transferred to Jordan by Israeli forces during the so-called "rescue operation," which was organized in order to pull members of White Helmets and their families out of the southern Syrian provinces of Quneitra and Daara, online media outlet al-Masdar News reported.

Disheveled 'grandma Hillary' mocked for Simpsons-style dress choice at NY OZY Festival

Hillary Clinton walks onstage at OZY Festival in New York.
Hillary Clinton appeared in front of a crowded Central Park in New York to talk Trump and Russia. However, her appearance, particularly her part-hospital gown, part-muumuu dress stole the show on Twitter.

Clinton was appearing at OZY Festival, a weekend-long event of music, food, political discussion and liberal 'comedy.'

Speaking at the festival on Saturday, Clinton trotted out her usual talking points: Russian boogeymen are preparing to hack November's midterm election, President Donald Trump is in Vladimir Putin's pocket, Trump's immigration policy is evil, and Republicans should really hold off on confirming Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh until after the midterms, pretty please.

Google-Facebook is working on behalf of the Democrats

Democrat media fact-checkers
A Gospel music group, Zion's Joy! posted its latest music video for fans on Facebook, spent $100 with the social media giant to "boost" its visibility, which got the post dropped because Facebook saw it as "political advertising."

It wasn't political advertising. That's absurd. There was no politics in it - just joyful praise music to Jesus.

That's just the latest scandal in how Facebook has become an arbitrary and capricious censor of content it doesn't like on the biggest town hall in America, compromising the First Amendment rights to freedom of speech and freedom of religion.

But the real scandal is bigger than that, as a House Judiciary Committee hearing illustrated Tuesday.

While Facebook is blocking content because of its crazy, irrational determination it is political advertising, Facebook and Google and the rest of the Silicon Valley cartel, have become de facto providers of massive amounts of content that indeed is politically loaded and the equivalent of many millions of dollars of free or in-kind advertising to the Democratic Party and its agenda.

Comment: At this point, the internet cartel is an extension of the MSM and newswire control system.

New Jersey governor bans smoking at public beaches, parks; local communities can opt out

Gov. Phil Murphy signed a bill Friday banning smoking at New Jersey's public beaches and parks, yet local communities can explicitly opt out and set aside a small section for smoking.

The Democratic governor signed a measure that was passed by the state Legislature last month. While advertised as a ban, it still leaves room for towns to permit smoking in designated areas of their beaches and parks.

Like previous versions of the bill that have failed, the bill doesn't specify who would be responsible for enforcing it: lifeguards, police or someone else. Murphy said it shouldn't be lifeguards, but left it to towns to decide enforcement measures.

"A lifeguard is there to save lives, first and foremost, for people in the water" Murphy said. "I don't want to add an extra burden to the lifeguard and take him or her away from their primary mission."

US Appeals court says TSA agents are beyond reach of federal tort lawsuits

Well, this is disappointing. The 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals has just made it pretty much impossible to sue a TSA officer, no matter how you've been treated or how many of your rights have been violated. Reuters has the rundown on the decision, which all comes down to the court's definition of the words "law enforcement officer." (via Parker Higgins)
In a 2-1 vote, the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Philadelphia said Transportation Security Administration (TSA) screeners were not "investigative or law enforcement officers," and were therefore shielded from liability under the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA).

The majority said it was "sympathetic" to concerns that its decision would leave fliers with "very limited legal redress" for alleged mistreatment by aggressive or overzealous screeners, which adds to the ordinary stresses of air travel.

"For most people, TSA screenings are an unavoidable feature of flying," but it is "squarely in the realm" of Congress to expand liability for abuses, Circuit Judge Cheryl Ann Krause wrote.
Thanks, Judge Krause. I'm sure Congress will get right on that. Seeing as there's no personal benefit to Congress members and ample opportunity to tick off fellow government employees with the power to make their travel experiences closely resemble an abduction by aliens, there's little chance of this being pursued, no matter how many cases are shrugged into their lap.

Colorado deputies caught running 'fight club' that rewarded cops for most violence against inmates

In a disgusting display of barbarism and brutality, the El Paso County Sheriff's department has been exposed in a practice of awarding deputies who carried out the most violence against people in their custody. They referred to this horrific practice as "fight club."

The sheriff's office confirmed that the deputies kept an off the books contest in which they tracked every time force was used against an inmate. The force ranged from simple handcuffing to punching, kicking, and violently slamming inmates. The deputies found to be the most forceful were awarded bragging rights and declared winners of the club.

A photograph of El Paso County sheriff's Deputy Sandra Rincon helped to expose this "fight club" as it showed her posing next to a cake with two candles on top displaying the number 50. Rincon was wearing a tiara and was pictured smiling next to the cake with a sign that said, "Happy Birthday" - but it was not her birthday.

The recent Putin-Trump summit in Helsinki has brought a slight improvement in the average Russians' opinion on the current level of Russia-US relations, but its overall level remains much lower than just a year ago.

In a new survey, conducted by the Russian state-run public opinion agency VTSIOM, researchers asked respondents to estimate the current level of Russia-US relations on a scale from -100 to 100 and then produced a combined index through subtracting the overall sum of replies that were in the negative from the overall sum of positive replies.

The figure they received was -72 points which is slightly up from -74 points in early July. However, it was still significantly lower than just a year ago - in July 2017 the parameter amounted to -44 points.
