Regulators said last week that they had halted production of a rabies vaccine at a large pharmaceutical company in the northeast after finding fabricated records and other problems during an inspection.
It was just the latest in a series of health and safety scandals which have fuelled fear over the safety of basic food and medicine and anger at regulators asleep on the job.
China's censors and regulators struggled to stay abreast of the public's response, deleting posts on WeChat as state media tried to take control of the narrative.
On Sunday night China's Food and Drug Administration (CFDA) announced it had ordered all production stopped at the vaccine maker and launched an investigation.
Changchun Changsheng Biotechnology is China's second largest maker of the rabies vaccine and a subsidiary of a large publicly-traded vaccine maker.
Woman's Place UK campaigns for women-only spaces and raises concerns about transgender people being able to self-identify as women.
The social network temporarily blocked links to its website over the weekend citing user "safety" as the site was "malicious".
"This morning, our supporters are reporting that FB posts which link to our website are being removed," tweeted the group, "the reason give (sic!) is that 'they may be in breach of community standards'. They are not. We would urge you to visit our website, read the posts and decide for yourself".
Its supporters blasted Facebook's clampdown, calling it a "disgrace" and accused the site of "suppressing free speech".
"Only fake news and hard brexit is allowed on @facebook. Women's rights are bad, m'kay." tweeted one user.

White Helmets carry an injured man as Jaish al-Islam fighters and their families arrive from the former rebel bastion's town of Douma, Syria. April 4, 2018
Some 98 White Helmets members were rescued by the Israel Defense Forces on Saturday night, as part of an evacuation mission that saw a total of 422 people collected from Syria and transferred across Northern Israel and into Jordan at three points, the Guardian reports.
The paper claims that the UK is prepared to offer asylum to up to 500 White Helmets members or relatives of the group, officially known as the Syria Civil Defence. The proposed resettlement of members of the group has divided opinion.
A CNN tweet read: "Israel says one of its tanks targeted a Hamas military post in Gaza Saturday in retaliation for a border fence breach, one day after violence that left four Palestinians, including three Hamas militants, and an Israeli soldier dead."
Foreign Minister Spokesperson, Emmanuel Nahshon, took issue with the chronological structure of the tweet, believing that listing the death of Palestinians before the Israeli soldier implied timing.
"No @cnni !!! You got it wrong and not for the first time - an Israeli soldier was killed by #Hamas and #IDF retaliated, protecting its country and citizens against murderous terrorists. By misrepresenting the facts you manipulate against #Israel! @cnni- STOP YOUR MANIPULATION !" his tweet read.
Nahson also retweeted a tweet criticisng the BBC.
Comment: It's not enough to simply report facts, because facts can be misconstrued (or in this case, interpreted correctly) and used to paint Israel in a negative light. It's the media's job to make sure that Israel looks 100% like a victim 100% of time. Anything less than that is an antisemitic attack on Israel.
Much of the training and disturbance in the country is financed by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), an "NGO" that receives hundreds of millions of dollars from the State Department to "spread democracy" and provoke "regime change" around the world, by boycotting and undermining the democratic processes of sovereign nations that refuse to bend under the yoke of the empire and its 'allies' - meaning vassals, afraid to stand up for inherent human values, and instead dance spinelessly to the tune of the murderous North American regime and its handlers.
Comment: Venezuela will 'get by with a little help from its friends'. The US is heading for its own internal upheaval, a long time coming and well-deserved. External ramifications, including any remaining friends, TBD.
Two Palestinian scientists were found dead in an apartment in Algeria. Initiation reports point fingers to Israeli spying agency Mossad.
The two, identified as Suliman al-Farra, 33, and Mohammed al-Banna, a physician whose age was not reported, were said to be originally from Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip. Both were found in Al-Farra's apartment.
Palestinian embassy in Algeria told the family of one of the deceased that the two died of gas inhalation or due to a short circuit.
Palestinian scientists and experts around the world have been killed in recent years in assassinations carried out by the Mossad.
Comment: The cause of death may very well be a signature method used by Mossad, and it is likely they murdered these two scientists. However, until proven, the cause is pattern-recognition and the suspects are speculation.
Two thirds of respondents support the Nord Stream 2 Baltic Sea pipeline because it would help provide Germany with a more reliable supply of natural gas, according to the the Forsa poll, which surveyed 1,004 Germans. Nord Stream 2 is a project to expand the existing Nord Stream main gas pipeline linking Russia and Germany along the bottom of the Baltic Sea.
During the recent NATO summit Donald Trump called Nord Stream 2 a mistake saying that Germany buying Russian gas made it its 'captive'. But just under 84 percent of respondents to Monday's poll brushed off Trump's comments, labelling his statement "completely absurd".
Comment: No, they didn't, and that wasn't their point. See:
That the Russian activity altered the outcome of the election to "make Trump win" has become an article of faith for many who still cannot fathom how Donald Trump beat Hillary Clinton. This will persist as a subject of speculation in book after book, for a long time. What will be of less concern to the same researchers and writers is the far greater impact of the anti-Trump trio of media, academia and Hollywood.
Professor Tim Groseclose, author of "Left Turn: How Liberal Media Bias Distorts the American Mind," makes the case that were the media truly fair and balanced, the average state would vote the same way Texas votes, in favor of Republicans. But media bias gives Democrats a bump of about 8 to 10 points. Of 20 major sources of news, Groseclose found about 15 years ago, 90 percent lean to the left.
Comment: Setting aside that Russia did not attempt to interfere in the 2016 presidential election, the author's point stands. The power and influence of the left-leaning media, academia, Silicon Valley, and Hollywood is far greater than any alleged FB meddling campaign could ever hope to be. Of course, Hillary still lost, so how much is all that alleged power and influence really worth?

Record production of beef, pork, poultry and turkey has become increasingly dependent on exports as US consumers cannot buy up the huge amount of meat. That would drive down prices for American consumers, restaurants and retailers. However, the recent import tariffs imposed by the country's trade partners on the wide range of US goods, including agricultural produce, have slowed down sales of US meat and poultry abroad.
Earlier this year, China and Mexico, the largest foreign buyers of US meat, taxed American pork products in response to the tariffs imposed by the White House on steel, aluminum and some other goods. The measure made prices for US hams, chops and livers in those markets shoot upwards, reports Wall Street Journal.
Liberal comedian Michael Ian Black came under fire by conservatives in recent days for a series of offensive past tweets referencing pedophilia and child abuse - but Black has a theory about why his old tweets have suddenly come to light again.
Black tweeted that "right wing Twitter" came after him "out of the blue" over tweets he posted years ago and reasoned that the timing was a bit suspect because he had recently been talking about "Russian money-laundering at the NRA."
In one of his tweets, which is still online, Black jokes that he is hosting 11-year-old girls at his home and that he is "terrified their parents will find out." In another, he jokes that he doesn't like watching the kids show iCarly "because there is nobody on that show I want to molest."
