The White Helmets NGO, also known as the Syrian Civil Defense, has declared the rescue of civilians in war zones as its fundamental goal. However, the non-governmental organization has been repeatedly accused of having links to jihadists, as well as disseminating Western-sponsored propaganda.

Commenting on the evacuation of about 800 White Helmets members from Syria to Jordan in an interview with Sputnik, Gian Micalessin, a columnist of the Italian newspaper Il Giornale, slammed Germany and Britain's readiness to resettle these activists.

"London and Berlin refuse to receive migrants rescued by their ships within the framework of the Sophia mission. They want the refugees to stay in Italy in line with a deal signed by Rome on the admission of all the illegal migrants fleeing from the Libyan coast. As compensation, Britain and Germany do not object to receiving the White Helmets, friends of terrorists who fled the Syrian provinces. It could have been seen as a paradox or even fake news, but this is a reality," Micalessin underscored.

He predicted that in a few weeks, the 800 White Helmets members would leave Jordan for Canada, as well as Germany and the UK, "the two EU countries that have already survived the terrorist attacks."

For 2018 Midterm elections, one thing is for sure: Whether Democrats or Republicans lose, Russia will be blamed

Midterm elections are more than three months away, and yet Republican and Democrat congressmen have seemingly already decided that no matter what, Russia may have a hand in them.

People will be flocking to polling stations on November 6, and while Republicans and Democrats seldom see things eye-to-eye, they seem to agree on one point: that Moscow has apparently set its eyes on the midterms.

It's being speculated that Russia may not be cherry picking at all, but may target both sides of the political spectrum in bulk.

RT's Caleb Maupin looks at the allegations and whether the 'enemy' may actually be homegrown.

The Russian Upper House speaker has proposed reforming the Federal Service for Execution of Punishment after a leaked video revealed the cruel beating of an inmate by about a dozen prison administration officers.

Russian Upper House speaker Valentina Matviyenko called the beating of an inmate by prison staff "an abominable crime that cannot be justified."

"I am shaken by the incident that took place in Yaroslavl Region. I started watching this video and then just turned it off, I could not... It is impossible to understand people who get together to cruelly beat a human being," Matviyenko told reporters on Thursday.

Shadow-banned? Twitter accused of burying Rep. Congressman Matt Gaetz' accounts

shadowbanned matt gaetz twitter
Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) may be the first congressman to fall victim to Twitter's latest plan to manage "troll-like" behavior on its platform. Users found that neither his personal nor official accounts were appearing in the "search all" function's dropdown results.

The issue was first discovered by user Ali Alexander, who tweeted screenshots of his attempts to search for the Republican lawmaker via the Twitter mobile application.

Comment: RT has confirmed that despite Twitter's denial of shadow banning, several prominent Republican lawmakers who are outspoken Trump supporters aren't showing up in searches while the president's critics, such as Rep. Maxine Waters (D-California) and DNC chairman Tom Perez, or any of the 78 members of the Progressive Caucus, continued to appear.

Trump has blasted Twitter over the bans and has promised to investigate:

Even members of the mainstream press are taking notice, and the uproar has forced Twitter to fix the 'search problems':

Tour de France forced to halt after cyclists in front of race hit with tear gas from police responding to protesting farmers

During the 16th stage of the Tour de France on Tuesday, several front-runners in the race were hit with tear gas from police. Four-time champion Chris Froome was one of the cyclists in the lead who got a face full of the toxic chemical.

According to reports, the police were there responding to protesters. A handful of farmer protesters sat in the road to garner attention for their cause. Apparently they are upset that the European Union has reduced their funding.

The group of protesters, according to French media, are from the local Ariege department and took to the road Tuesday to get their voices heard. Their image will likely be marred now, however, as multiple cyclists from various countries were tear gassed as a result of their actions.

Apparently the officers ignored the direction and the strength of the wind which resulted in clouds of the gas floating into the riders.

Although the riders were accidentally hit with the gas, the images below show that the protesters were indeed the targets of police. The disturbing images show police hitting the protesters in the faces at near-point blank range as they sit there peacefully.

While media and politicians focus on Mexico border, concerns mount over illegals entering US through Canada

Potted plants mark the U.S.-Canadian border at Derby Line, Vermont
While the Trump administration fortifies the southern border, there's growing concern over the number of foreigners entering the country illegally across the porous northern border with Canada.

People crossing the border between Vermont and Quebec have paid smugglers up to $4,000, usually payable when the immigrants reach their U.S. destination, according to officials and court documents.

While the number of arrests is tiny compared with the southern border, the human smuggling is just as sophisticated.

"They are very well organized. They have scouted the area. They have scouted us," said U.S. Border Patrol Agent Richard Ross. "Basically, we are not dealing with the JV team; this is the varsity."

Voting tech company Smartmatic used in 16 states has deep ties to Soros

creepy soros
Smartmatic, a U.K.-based voting technology company with deep ties to George Soros, has provided voting technology in 16 states including battleground zones like Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Other jurisdictions affected are California, District of Columbia, Illinois, Louisiana, Missouri, New Jersey, Oregon, Washington and Wisconsin.

Its website includes a flow-chart that describes how the company has contributed to elections in the U.S. from 2006-2015 with "57,000 voting and counting machines deployed" and "35 million voters assisted."

After this report's publication, Smartmatic updated its website to remove the flow chart and declare that "Smartmatic will not be deploying its technology in any U.S. county for the upcoming 2016 U.S. Presidential elections."

In 2005, Smartmatic bought-out California-based Sequoia Voting Systems and entered the world of U.S. elections.

Chelsea football club to setup special smoking area to accommodate new coach Maurizio Sarri

Chelsea football club are planning to create a special smoking area to accommodate new coach Maurizio Sarri and his tobacco habit, according to reports. The Italian is said to puff on up to 80 cigarettes a day.

Sarri took over at Stamford Bridge earlier in July, but his habit has caused something of a headache for the London club as smoking is banned in all workplaces and enclosed public spaces in the UK.

He was frequently seen puffing away on the sidelines in his old job with Napoli in Italy's Serie A, but that is not an option at Chelsea.

Comment: Sounds like Sarri made this a sticking point for his continued employment. Fans (and others) should demand the same. If accommodations can be made for him, they can be made for others as well.

Corporate media bias: News reports twist Sessions response to student's 'Lock her up' chants

Jeff Sessions george Washington university
Americans don't trust the media-and with good reason, as we learned earlier today. Take just the latest bit of fake news to have been cyber-vomited onto social media: according to Politico, Attorney General Jeff Sessions "joined" a "Lock her up!" chant started by a group high schoolers he was giving a speech to.

But that isn't accurate at all. Sessions heard the chant, looked a bit confused, then bemused, and, finally, amusedly echoed-literally one time-the chant before continuing with his prepared remarks.

From the way the story was reported, however, one could be forgiven for thinking he had organized the speech purposefully so he could taunt a political rival and whip the crowd up into a frenzy to call for her arrest, all the while he's leading it-evilly.

That just isn't what happened. Seriously, they have to know this reporting (and other examples like it) is, at best, deliberately misleading and, at worst, unadulterated lying. What seems more and more evident with each passing day to more and more Americans is that they do know they are being dishonest, but they just don't care.
