Society's Child
An opinion piece in the Corriere della Sera, headlined "The descendants of the Jews who escaped Nazism now escape Brexit," was blasted online for purportedly putting Britain's democratic choice to crash out of the EU two years ago on the same level as the Third Reich.
The piece argues that just as people were forced to flee Germany during the Second World War for fear of being persecuted by the Nazis, their descendants are now escaping the UK ahead of it leaving the 28 member state bloc.
It points out that the number of Jewish refugee descendants flocking to Germany shot up to 1,667 in 2017, compared to just 43 in 2015, before the EU referendum took place.
In a video that went viral last week the man, later identified as Steve Wilson, picks a fight with a woman at a crosswalk in Portland, Oregon. After heckling the woman for allegedly blocking him, she responds that she is merely waiting for the crossing light to turn green.
"You're a f*cking little snarky little f*ckin' idiot, aren't you?" he snaps.
When he continues with the abuse, the woman dares him to "try something." In response, Wilson says he isn't going to punch her because he "wasn't like her husband." When the woman responds that her husband was a New York police officer who died on 9/11, Wilson follows up with a rant about how the NYPD "sodomized immigrants with their bully sticks" and concludes with: "Your husband should rot in the grave."
Comment: NPC 'culture' strikes again.

(L) Alyssa Milano, (C)Linda Sarsour (R) Laura Loomer
Speaking on a panel at the Politicon conference in Los Angeles, Milano was confronted by conservative journalist Laura Loomer over her friendship with Sarsour.
"You are friends with Linda Sarsour, both of you ladies have positioned yourselves as speakers and representatives of the #MeToo movement," Loomer asked Milano.

Activists protest against President Trump's ban on transgender troops in the military in July
According to a New York Times report, the Department of Health and Human Services is planning to establish a legal definition of sex under Title IX, a federal civil rights law that bans gender discrimination.
While many transgender activists argue that a person's gender is largely their own choice, a department memo seen by the Times argues that a person's sex should be defined "on a biological basis that is clear, grounded in science, objective and administrable," with a person's genitals at birth defining their gender.
"The sex listed on a person's birth certificate, as originally issued, shall constitute definitive proof of a person's sex unless rebutted by reliable genetic evidence," the memo reportedly reads.
The news was met with fury by transgender activists, and a protest was held in New York's Washington Square on Sunday night. The Transgender Law Center said that the proposal is an effort "to erase our very existence as trans people," and accused the Trump administration of planning "the destruction of our communities."
Comment: Hardly. This is not a holocaust. Trans people will still exist, same as they always have. Their official sex will simply be recorded as the sex they actually are - that they were born with - regardless of how they identify. That's the reality after all: trans men are women who identify as men, and vice versa.

Activists protest the disappearance of Jamal Khashoggi during demonstration outside the White House in Washington
A recent YouGov Poll asked Americans if they consider Saudi Arabia a friend or an enemy. Only 4 percent of the participants have unconditional faith in the Middle East country - they answered that Saudi Arabia is their ally.
Notably, the poll was conducted October 14 - 16, days before the Saudis, after facing massive worldwide pressure and condemnation, finally admitted that dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi died inside Saudi Arabia's Turkish consulate. They claimed the 60-year-old Saudi national was accidentally killed after he got into a "fist fight".
The California Public Employees' Retirement System (Calpers), managing retirement savings of nearly two million Americans, has $1.1 billion dollars invested in Russian assets, including state-issued bonds and shares of companies hit by US sanctions, reports Russian business daily RBK.
Apart from Russia's state debt, the fund that controls pensions of California's firefighters and police officers, reportedly holds $872 million in share depositary receipts of Russian firms - $658 billion of which are from companies subject to US sanctions.
Calpers has invested in Russian energy companies Rosneft, Gazprom, Novatek and Surgutneftegas. The Californian pension fund has added state-lender Sberbank shares, worth $238 million traded in the US, and VTB depositary receipts worth $12.5 million traded in Europe.
Comment: The sanctions against Russia are juvenile. Ironically, the only people they really hurt are the Westerners locked out of the Russian markets. The Russian economy has suffered a bit, but not drastically. And Russian industries - especially in agriculture - are thankful for the sanctions. They're making a ton of money and hope the sanctions continue forever.
The proposed amendments to the EU Copyright Directive would require the automatic removal of any user-created content suspected of violating intellectual property law - with platforms being liable for any alleged copyright infringement. If enacted, the legislation would threaten "both your livelihood and your ability to share your voice with the world," YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki warned the site's content creators in a blog post on Monday.

PETA protesters inspired by the TV show 'The Handmaid's Tale' pictured opposing the dairy industry's treatment of how cows and their separation from their babies for their milk.
PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) originally published a blog post titled 'Why cow's milk is the perfect drink for white supremacists' last year.
The animal rights group renewed that claim on Friday when it tweeted a link to its post again.
The group urged people to drink dairy-free alternatives, as dairy products are 'linked to developing heart disease as well as prostate, breast, and ovarian cancer'.
Comment: Only in a completely hysterical culture could anyone dream up a connection between a food and a political ideology. PETA does have a point in regards to how cows are treated in the dairy industry, and dairy consumers should be aware and source from ethical sources. But they really don't further their cause by tying in a bunch of ideological garbage to their cause. They simply look crazy (which certainly isn't untrue).

New data shows, American businesses and consumers just paid a 45% spike in duties, according to Tariffs Hurt the Heartland, a campaign that highlights the negative impacts of President Trump's trade war on US businesses and the economy.
Trade data released last Thursday during a town hall meeting in Pennsylvania discussed the tariffs' impacts, featuring distillers, pork producers, frame manufactures, and other industry experts.
"For the most recent months available, August 2018, the amount of tariffs paid increased by $1.4 billion -- or 45% -- as compared to tariffs paid in August 2017. Tariff costs in Michigan tripled to $178 million and more than doubled in multiple states -- to $424 million in Texas, $193 million in Illinois, $50 million in Alabama, $29 million in Oklahoma, $23 million in Louisana, and $7.3 million in West Virginia.
These costs strain businesses of all sizes but are particularly painful for small business, manufacturers, and consumers who bear the burden of tariff increases in the form of higher prices," via the data compiled by The Trade Partnership and released by Tariffs Hurt the Heartland.

Comment: Americans have been disenchanted with US support of the Saudi regime for some time - and that's without knowing the full extent of Saudi crimes due to media silence.
