'Hackers'? Massive LED swastika displayed at Kiev shopping mall

A swastika has been displayed in a Kiev shopping mall, located at a street named after Nazi collaborator-turned Ukrainian 'hero' Stepan Bandera. The mall itself denied involvement in such a shocking display and blamed hackers.

The offensive display appeared on the LED-illuminated staircase of the Gorodok Gallery mall in the Ukrainian capital on Saturday and was caught on video by some baffled shoppers.

Footage from the scene shows the massive swastika over a red and white field, with the whole display closely resembling the state flag of Nazi Germany. While the woman who captured the video was seemingly offended by the sight, some other visitors to the mall appeared to stroll casually past the display like nothing was wrong at all.

Covington teen Nick Sandmann sues The Washington Post for $250M

Covington Catholic student Nicholas Sandmann filed a $250 million defamation lawsuit against The Washington Post on Tuesday, accusing the newspaper of targeting him in "a modern-day form of McCarthyism."

Attorneys for 16-year-old Sandmann - who was filmed in a viral confrontation with a Native American man in Washington, DC - claim the newspaper led a "mob of bullies which attacked, vilified & threatened" an innocent minor.

"Washington Post recklessly ignored basic journalist standards because it was eager to advance its biased agenda against @realDonaldTrump by impugning individuals perceived to be his supporters," attorney Lin Wood said in a statement.

"Nick Sandmann was perceived as an easy target. He is 16. Inexcusable on every level."

The Kentucky student was with his class in the nation's capital to take part in an anti-abortion rally on Jan. 18 when he was confronted by 64-year-old Nathan Phillips.

Comment: Hopefully this case will set precedence for more lawsuits to follow. Most, if not all these mainstream outlets are quick to print libelous and/or defamatory stories without repercussion. See also:

Irate farmers have labelled a State MP a 'green communist' after she blamed 'meat-eating' men for climate change while praising vegans.

Lisa Baker, the Labor member for Maylands in Perth, told the State Parliament her Government should promote reduced meat consumption.

She went onto state meat-eating men tend to produce more greenhouse gas emissions than vegan women.

Comment: She 'stands by her comments' because they were targeting men and thus gets little-to-no pressure to apologize and back down. If Baker had targeted any other group she would be ousted and begging for forgiveness. The whole idea that meat-eating men are any more responsible for 'climate change' than meat-eating women, or vegans of either sex, is wrong on so many levels it's actually breathtaking.

In a cheeky Bobards d'Or ('Golden Hoax') ceremony in Paris, organized by the Polemia Foundation think tank, some of the most ridiculous fake news stories of the past years were awarded fitting trophies: golden statuettes modeled after the Oscars but made in the image of the character synonymous with being caught in a lie: Pinocchio.

The 'bobards' were awarded in three categories: the 'traditional hoax' for internal French stories, the 'international hoax' for stories about foreign affairs, the 'Yellow Vest hoax' - for the way the media treated the eponymous protest. One of the protesters, Fiorina Lignier, who had lost an eye to a police gas grenade during a demonstration, was even invited as one of the judges.

For nearly two decades at the Grand Canyon, tourists, employees, and children on tours passed by three paint buckets stored in the National Park's museum collection building, unaware that they were being exposed to radiation.

Although federal officials learned last year that the 5-gallon containers were brimming with uranium ore, then removed the radioactive specimens, the park's safety director alleges nothing was done to warn park workers or the public that they might have been exposed to unsafe levels of radiation.

In a rogue email sent to all Park Service employees on Feb. 4, Elston "Swede" Stephenson - the safety, health and wellness manager - described the alleged cover-up as "a top management failure" and warned of possible health consequences.

Comment: Sounds a bit like the Japanese government's handling of information concerning the Fukushima disaster.

A British man has revealed for the first time the horrific extent of injuries he suffered after being stabbed, burnt and violently assaulted by his abusive girlfriend.

Alex Skeel, 22, was days from death when police arrived at his home in June 2017.

This lead to the arrest of Jordan Worth, the mother of his two children.

Worth became the first woman in the UK to be convicted of controlling or coercive behaviour and grievous bodily harm.

Skeel has now retold his five-year ordeal in a BBC documentary called 'Abused By My Girlfriend". It examines the cycle of abuse inflicted upon him by Worth and why he felt unable to escape for so long.

There's an obvious answer to the question, "Why would Jussie Smollett do something like that?"

On January 29, tabloid news site TMZ broke the shocking story that Jussie Smollett, a gay black entertainer and progressive activist, had been viciously attacked in Chicago. Two racist white men had fractured his rib, poured bleach on him, and tied a noose around his neck. As they were leaving, they shouted the ominous words: "This is MAGA country" - a reference to President Trump's campaign slogan. MSNBC reported the rumor that they were even wearing MAGA hats.

Leaks from the Chicago police over the weekend, however, indicate that Smollett likely paid two Nigerian-American brothers he knew to orchestrate the attack. Smollett denied any wrongdoing through a statement released to the media by his lawyers.

That the original story broke days just after the Covington narrative fell apart last month didn't stop it from spreading quicker than a wildfire. Within hours of TMZ's report, some of America's most influential politicians and celebrities amplified the story - and the belief that America is a dangerous place for minorities - to millions across the world.

A haunting video of a severely malnourished 12-year-old girl in Yemen highlights the ongoing devastation of the brutal war that has ravaged the country for four years, as the population continues to teeter on the brink of famine.

Fatima Qoba weighs just 10 kilograms (22 pounds) and is suffering from severe malnutrition. She is being treated at a clinic in Hajjah, where her tiny frame is dwarfed by the bed she lies on.

The head of the clinic, Makiah al-Aslami, said Fatima is "skin and bones due to the hard life of her family," who are "displaced persons from Al-Sha'ab area who are not provided with shelter, food or medications."

The family of eleven children and their father fled their home near the Saudi Arabian border and are now living under a tree.

The Jussie Smollett case, in which a young black, gay actor has apparently concocted a tale of being attacked by two white men wearing MAGA hats and shouting anti-gay slurs, is just the latest example of how desperately media elites want to confirm their favored narrative about America: that the country is endemically and lethally racist, sexist, and homophobic, and that the election of Donald Trump both proves and reinforces such bigotry.

The truth: as instances of actual racism get harder and harder to find, the search to find such bigotry becomes increasingly frenzied and unmoored from reality.

A statue inspired by the iconic photograph of a World War II sailor kissing a woman in Times Square, New York City, was vandalized just days after the sailor in the photograph died.

The "Unconditional Surrender" statue in Sarasota, Florida, had "#MeToo" emblazoned in red spray paint on the woman's left leg, a photograph released by the Sarasota Police Department shows.

Police were called to the scene at around 12:53 a.m. Tuesday but did not find any cans of spray paint in the area, according to a press release.

Nothing else in the area was spraypainted or defaced, police said.

Comment: Well...there is this:
A few facts have come to light. Far from being a kiss between a loving couple, we learn that George and Greta were perfect strangers. We learn that George was drunk, and that Greta had no idea of his presence, until she was in his arms, with his lips on hers.

The articles even give us Greta's own words:
"It wasn't my choice to be kissed. The guy just came over and grabbed!"

"I did not see him approaching, and before I knew it, I was in this vice grip."

"You don't forget this guy grabbing you."

"That man was very strong. I wasn't kissing him. He was kissing me."
It seems pretty clear, then, that what George had committed was sexual assault. Yet, in an amazing feat of willful blindness, none of the articles comment on this, even as they reproduce Greta's words for us. Without a single acknowledgement of the problematic nature of the photo that her comments reveal, they continue to talk about the picture in a whimsical, reverent manner, "still mesmerized by his timeless kiss." George's actions are romanticized and glorified; it is almost as if Greta had never spoken.
