Scientists warn of a 'a triple whammy' of respiratory illnesses this winter, including Covid and flu.
New evidence has emerged that the government is paving the way to implement "plan B" measures in England to combat the spread of Covid-19, amid warnings from health chiefs that a "vortex of pressures" is encircling the NHS.

Comment: The hysteria that has overtaken those at the NHS can be seen in their use of language; another example would be the endless videos of nurses dancing.

In the clearest sign to date that Whitehall is actively considering additional measures, the Observer has learnt that the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) contacted local authorities on Friday to canvass their level of support for the "immediate rollout of the winter plan - plan B".

The disclosure comes as senior doctors warn that operations are already being cancelled due to NHS staffing shortages and scientists warn of "a triple whammy" of respiratory illnesses this winter, with Covid, flu and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), which causes cold-like symptoms but can be serious for children and older adults.

Three people were stabbed, one fatally, outside the Royal British Legion in Lymington on Friday night.
A man has died after three people were stabbed outside the Royal British Legion in Lymington, Hampshire.

Police said officers were called to reports of an assault on the town's high street shortly before midnight on Friday and arrived to find two men and a woman with stab wounds.

A 23-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Four people, three men and a 14-year-old boy, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in police custody.

Comment: Meanwhile in the US two drunk school teachers are accused of entering the wrong apartment and, following a confrontation, shooting the tenant in the back; the tenant was at home with his wife and two children at the time:
Two Florida elementary school physical education teachers have been accused of entering the wrong apartment, and one of the intruders shot an actual tenant who lived there.

According to the Indian River County Sheriff's Office, Darius Cohen and Akkua Hallback spent the night of Oct. 10 drinking in some Vero Beach bars, local media reported. Afterward, Cohen drove to an apartment complex of an area woman; Hallback waited for her inside her residence. Cohen waited outside for a few hours but eventually needed to use the bathroom, and he contacted Hallback.

Alcohol-impaired elementary school teachers Akkua Hallback (left) and Darius Cohen (right) entered the wrong Florida apartment this month, and Cohen eventually shot an actual tenant who lived there.
Hallback went out to get Cohen, but upon returning inside, the two 26-year-old men entered the unlocked door of the wrong apartment, where a family lived.

"When they went into the wrong apartment, they went into [an apartment with] a couple with children inside of their house," Sheriff Eric Rivers told WPBF.

Authorities claimed that Cohen used the bathroom, and Hallback got into the couple's bed, assuming it was that of the woman Hallback knew.

"The wife initially was the one that heard them and alerted her husband; she started screaming his name," said Sheriff Eric Flowers. "That's when he addressed the one that was in the bed and trying to keep them calm because of the children in the house."

The unidentified victim got the two men outside, where the confrontation continued and escalated. Surveillance video showed a fight breaking out, and four gunshots being fired. The tenant of the home ended up with a bullet in his back.

The victim ran to a neighbor's home for help.

"I woke up to a man getting into the bed, and when I got up, I encountered another man in my apartment, and we got into a scuffle, and I ended up getting shot," Flowers said, describing what the victim told him to WPFWNews.

Cohen and Hallback took off from the scene, but the men were later found. A call came into the Indian River County Sheriff's Office Crime Stoppers after the two were recognized on its Facebook page.

Cohen admitted to authorities that he shot the unidentified man but claimed self-defense, saying the gun fired while an attempt was being made to wrestle it away. He has been charged with attempted murder. Hallback, who was found with Adderall in his backpack, was charged with possession of a controlled substance. He may also be charged later as an accessory.

Police also said they found two guns in the home Cohen and Hallback share with another teacher. Tests are being conducted to determine if one was a weapon used in the shooting.

"Just sends a message of nothing good happens after midnight," Flowers said.

The two men have also lost their P.E.-teaching jobs. Cohen taught at Indian River Academy and Hallback at Sebastian Elementary.

"This is very disappointing for us as a school system," school superintendent Dr. David Moore said to WPTV. "There is no place for this in our school system, there is no place for this in our community."

Elite athlete explains vaccine injury and doctors' ignorance

Kyle Warner
Famous mountain bike racer Kyle Warner isn't keeping quiet about the vaccine injuries he's suffered from getting the Pfizer vaccine, and is using his fame to alert people to harms that can come of it.

Warner made the news in 2020 when he interviewed with Mountain Bike Action and talked about his transition from being "the fat kid in elementary school" to winning the North American Enduro Tour in 2014, 2015 and 2016.

At the time, he said his goal in life was to "inspire as many kids and adults as possible to find a healthy and positive outlet for stress." Now he has another goal, and that's to warn everyone of the physical problems he experienced after getting his second shot of Pfizer's mRNA therapy — and doctors' apparent lack of care and knowledge about the shot's adverse reactions.

Palestinian workers will need vaccine proof to cross checkpoints

Palestinian medics and activists participate in a the “Awareness Bus” initiative to educate people about the coronavirus vaccine in poor areas in Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip on September 2, 2021.
Beginning in November, Palestinians will need to present proof of vaccine status, confirming they have received three doses in order to cross checkpoints to work in Israel and West Bank settlements.

Last week we reported up to 120,000 Palestinians who were vaccinated by Israel with the Moderna vaccine and hold permits to enter Israel for work, were due to lose their Green Pass status because of new health regulations. This month Israel required vaccinated persons to have been administered a third dose in order to keep their passes. The matter became complex because Israelis are vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine, a company that already brought a booster dose to market. Yet Palestinians received the Moderna vaccine, for which there is no approved third dose.

As of Wednesday, the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced those workers will be given a third dose with the Pfizer vaccine:
"Starting today, Thursday, the Ministry of Health, in coordination with the Civil Affairs Authority and the Ministry of Labor, will vaccinate workers who are employed inside the Green Line with a third dose of the coronavirus vaccine, whether from Pfizer or Moderna, for those who took the second dose more than 6 months ago."

Another adaptation of the "Let's go, Brandon" chant went viral.

YouTube user Forgiato Blow created a hit after Loza Alexander's "Let's Go Brandon Theme Song" topped the charts in two Apple Music genres. The "Let's go Brandon" chant originated from an Oct. 2 post-race interview that an NBC News sports reporter conducted with NASCAR star Brandon Brown. The crowd behind the reporter repeatedly yelled, "F*** Joe Biden ," but she told the camera they were shouting, "Let's go, Brandon."

"Sleepy Joe ain't got no support," the lyrics said. "Hunter Biden better show up to court."

The music video was posted Monday and has more than 830,000 views and 47,000 "likes."

The Great Resignation? First-time data map shows where Americans are quitting jobs the most

quit america job
Kentucky, Idaho, South Dakota and Iowa reported the highest increases in the rates of workers who quit their jobs in August, according to a new glimpse of quit rates in the labor market released Friday.

Comment: It's notable that this is the first time data like this has been collated and presented in this way, it also means we have no exact comparison for previous years.

The largest increase in the number of quitters happened in Georgia, with 35,000 more people leaving their jobs. Overall, the states with the highest rates of workers quitting their jobs were Georgia, Kentucky and Idaho.

The report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics builds out a portrait of August's labor market, with historic levels of people leaving jobs and a near-record number of job openings showing the leverage workers have in the new economy. It offers the first detailed insight into the state-by-state geography of this year's Great Resignation.

Comment: In September of this year The Economic Collapse Blog reported:
Earlier today, I was stunned to learn that a new survey has discovered that 69 percent of global companies are having a hard time finding enough people to hire...
A survey of nearly 45,000 employers across 43 countries showed 69 percent of employers reported difficulty filling roles, a 15-year high, according to employment-services provider ManpowerGroup Inc. At the same time, 15 countries — focused in Europe and North America — reported their highest hiring intentions since the survey began in 1962.
In addition to the lockdowns causing havoc in the job market, leading people to reevaluate their priorities, such as where they live and their working conditions, a number of these people are also quitting - or being suspended or fired - because of the vaccine mandates:

Wait, what? Virginia school board sues FOIA recipients for receiving FOIA'ed documents it handed to them

Fairfax-area moms Callie Oettinger and Debra Tisler are being sued for using documents embarrassing to the Fairfax County Public School Board they legally obtained through a FOIA request
From the nice-gov't-work-if-you-can-get-it dept:

Yeah, it can suck when you fail to handle FOIA requests properly and give the public more information than you intended to. It sucks for the government. It doesn't suck for the public, which is rarely treated to anything more than the most minimal of transparency.

Unfortunately, government agencies don't always react well when they've screwed things up. Sometimes the blowback is limited to ineffectual shouting or paper waving. Sometimes, however, it's a lawsuit seeking a court order to prevent people from accessing (or sharing) documents they've legally obtained from a government agency.

Brian Laundrie's autopsy is INCONCLUSIVE: Remains found in Florida reserve sent to an anthropologist

Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie

Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie are seen in this Instagram post.
Brian Laundrie's autopsy is inconclusive, Florida authorities have said, and the remains are now being sent to an anthropologist to try and determine how he died. No manner or cause of death was determined.

'I can confirm that the remains were being sent to an anthropologist for further evaluation,' Steve Bertolino, the Laundrie family lawyer, told DailyMail.com.

Laundrie's remains were found on Wednesday in the T Mabry Carlton Jr Memorial Reserve. The 23-year-old was last seen on September 13, his parents said, when he left to go for a hike.

Laundrie was the sole 'person of interest' in the murder of his fiancee, Gabby Petito, who was found dead in Wyoming.

The pair had been on a road trip and documenting their travels on social media.

Comment: There's an awful lot of 'inconclusives' in both cases. That the fact that this story involves two deaths in two national parks. Might there be an element of 'missing 411' to them?

New (fake?) Facebook 'whistleblower' emerges with explosive claims on hate speech

facebook Joel Kaplan Zuckerberg

Facebook public policy chief Joel Kaplan (L) and CEO Mark Zuckerberg (R)
A new whistleblower is speaking out against Facebook executives and how they allegedly undermined attempts to guard against misinformation and hate speech

There's more trouble in Zuck-town.

A new Facebook whistleblower has reportedly emerged, dishing to US regulators that an official at the social network in 2017 blew off concerns about hate speech as a "flash in the pan," adding that while "some legislators will get pissy" Facebook is "printing money in the basement."

The new whistleblower told the Securities and Exchange Commission under penalty of perjury that the company has constantly shrugged off concerns about hate speech and misinformation in pursuit of growth, the Washington Post reported on Friday.

Comment: It will be interesting to see if this new figure gets the same celebrity treatment accorded to Haugen, or will be hounded into obscurity like those who turn to Project Veritas.
Haugen came seemingly out of nowhere to testify before the Senate on Tuesday, yet she revealed nothing besides well-rehearsed bromides about the Menlo Park behemoth putting "profits over people" and somehow endangering Our Democracy by refusing to police misinformation, or something. Stunning and brave!

She also landed a 60 Minutes interview over the weekend, got instantly verified on Twitter, and received praise from the extremely online Democrats (aka the 'Resistance' during the Trump era) for her stunning bravery. Her advice to the Senate wasn't to break up Facebook, either, but to turn it into an arm of the government - for the "common good," of course, and to protect the children.
The charge that Facebook was concerned with keeping Trump happy is very strange, except for the fact that the ongoing attention was filling Facebook's coffers. He was still booted off the platform in the end.
