Doctors at the Bundi government hospital removed 116 iron nails, a long wire and an iron pellet from the stomach of a 42-year-old man here.

Dr Anil Saini, a surgeon at the hospital, said most nails measured 6.5 cm and it took an hour-and-a-half to remove the objects from the man's body.

"I was stunned after noticing the objects in his X-ray report after which I recommended for a CT scan. That, too, confirmed the same after which the patient was operated upon on Monday, said Dr Saini.

Lovely Acosta Baruelo, 26, was reportedly tied to a tree in Saudi Arabia because she left an expensive piece of furniture out in the sun
A Filipino maid was allegedly tied to a tree as punishment for leaving furniture outside in the sun.

The woman, named Lovely Acosta Baruelo, 26, had been working for a wealthy family in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for several months.

But she is said to have angered her employers after leaving a piece of expensive furniture outside in the heat, where it risked being faded by the sun.

A colleague, also from the Philippines, took pictures of the alleged punishment showing Lovely tied by her wrists and legs to a tree in the family's garden on May 9.

Comment: What does it say about Saudi society that cases like this, and others that are even more abhorrent, are so frequent?

New York fraternity members allegedly forced dog to drink beer. Now they're in trouble

dog forced drink beer from keg
A New York university has suspended a fraternity after a video shared on social media showed members forcing a dog to drink from a beer keg at an off-campus party.

The video, with more than 100,000 views as of Monday, shows one man holding a squirming spaniel upside-down while another sprays liquid from the keg into the dog's mouth.

People watching in the background at the Alpha Epsilon Pi event can be heard shouting "Let's go!"

Comment: Given the harmful effects of alcohol on humans, it's rather despicable that these people would inflict this on a dog. Quite frankly, the punishment stated doesn't seem nearly severe enough. These frat boys should be brought up on cruelty to animals charges.

The number of assaults in France on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people jumped 66 percent in 2018 over 2017, with a spike towards the end of the year.
(AFP) - Assaults in France on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people hit a new record in 2018, "a dark year" for the LGBT community, French group SOS Homophobie reported Tuesday.

The non-profit association registered 231 physical attacks, up from the previous annual record of 188 anti-LGBT assaults back in 2013 linked to same-sex marriage legislation.

"2018 was a dark year for LGBT people," said SOS Homophobie co-presidents Véronique Godet and Joël Deumier in the yearly report.

Alysia Montano runs in the Women"s 800 Meter opening round during Day 1 of the 2017 USA Track & Field Championships at Hornet Satdium on June 22, 2017 in Sacramento, California.
Nike has reviewed its performance pay after several female athletes revealed they suffered pay cuts from the company due to pregnancy and early maternity.

Over the weekend, several US runners including Alysia Montaño, Phoebe Wright and Kara Goucher took part in a video for the New York Times (NYT) in which they accused the brand's sponsorship deals of discriminating against female athletes.

In the video, Montaño - who became the focus of coverage across the world after competing in the 2014 United States Championships while eight months pregnant - said that when she told the firm she was expecting, representatives from Nike said they would pause her sponsorship contract and stop paying her.

Comment: This is clearly abusive to female athletes. There needs to be some sort of maternity leave written into these contracts. No one should be penalized for having a baby.

The unrelenting witch-hunt of Julian Assange continues

Chinese artist and activist Ai Weiwei is pictured with a mask of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange during a demonstration in support of Assange at Brandenburg Gate in Berlin on May 2, 2019.
When told of the death of a political rival the 19th-century French statesman Talleyrand supposedly asked: "I wonder what he meant by that?"

I rather felt the same when woken to the news that Sweden now wants to extradite Julian Assange on long abandoned "sex-charges" from 2010.

What do they mean by that? Inevitably at this stage, one must speculate but I don't need a weatherman to tell which way the wind blows. I think they mean no good.

The US extradition application is already before the British courts and public opinion about the persecution of the whistleblower Assange has begun to turn. Even amongst those recently most hostile to the WikiLeaks founder - the very journalists who once waited upon his every word.

The grossly disproportionate charges being lined up in the US justice system - for a man who on any honest reading AT WORST merely facilitated a leak of truthful information of great public interest and published it - might well find an honest British judge unpersuaded of the justice of the US case. Perhaps the US or British government - itself scarcely in need of another long bitter national controversy - had seen the same straws in the wind as me, a change of climate with regard to Julian Assange.

Woman who claimed to be pregnant killed by Texas cop during arrest scuffle

police shooting

A graphic video shows a police officer in Baytown, Texas, fatally shooting a woman, Pamela Turner, who can be heard in the video saying she is pregnant.
A Texas police officer shot and killed a 44-year-old woman while trying to arrest her Monday night, authorities said.

A police spokesperson has since confirmed that the woman, identified as Pamela Turner, was not pregnant at the time of the shooting.

The unnamed officer involved in the shooting came across the woman while patrolling an apartment complex in the city of Baytown, some 27 miles east of Houston. He apparently recognized her from previous encounters and knew she had "outstanding warrants," according to a statement from Lt. Steve Dorris of the Baytown Police Department.

A struggle ensued when the officer attempted to arrest her for those warrants, Dorris said. The officer deployed his Taser on the woman, but, as he was trying to handcuff her, she apparently got hold of the device and used it on him.

The officer drew his gun and fired multiple rounds at the woman, striking her at least once. The officer then attempted to render aid to the woman but she was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Dorris.

Dr. Tim Ball: A new approach to explaining the big lie of 'climate crises' is needed

Dr. Tim Ball
© Unknown
I thought about making this my last article on climate for this or any other website except my own. I planned the action some time ago, but it was the recent headline in the Telegraph that triggered this penultimate move. It said, "Climate change is a risk investors can't ignore: Black Rock latest to sound the alarm on environment." Climate change is not a risk factor. Current climate and climate changes are normal and well within the pattern of change over history, certainly the last 10,000 years. The world believes otherwise, despite efforts by me and others to make the correct information available.

This means that after 50 years (1968-2019) of trying to educate the public about the weather, global warming, and climate change I achieved little or no change in understanding, attitude, or most importantly, policy on the world stage. My attempts to counter the massive deception that began as human-caused global warming (AGW) and later shifted to human-caused climate change, fell short. The deception is now what people accept, although they don't necessarily believe. Because of that it is now the underlying reason for all policy on energy and environment that are the mainstay of these business-world views, indeed all views.

Comment: Dr. Ball underscores the starkness of the situation when he acknowledges that - even amongst the 15% who "are competent and comfortable in science" and see the climate deception - he was still unable to convince them that their critiques of bad science will go unnoticed without people first understanding the climate alarmists' motives - which is total economic/political control. In other words, it's not really about 'saving the planet' or 'our children's future' at all.

To better understand the motives behind our governments' misguided goals and policies on climate change, see Andrew M. Lobaczewski's, Political Ponerology (A Science on the Nature of Evil Adjusted for Political Purposes).

Cruel and insensitive: UK threatens Indian woman IN COMA with deportation

Indian woman in a coma
An Indian woman in a coma after surgery has been denied permanent residency in the UK and threatened with deportation. An immigration barrister told RT that, although legally correct, the Home Office's policies lack flexibility.

Bhavani Esapathi, 31, who arrived in the UK on a student visa, was in a vegetative state when she received a letter from the Home Office stating that her application for 'leave to remain', a British term for permanent residency, was rejected.

The woman is currently undergoing treatment for Crohn's disease, a condition which causes inflammation of the digestive tract and sometimes leads to life-threatening complications.

Esapathi claimed that the specific drug therapy that her illness requires is unavailable in India. The Home Office, however, made clear that Esapathi's circumstances don't justify her staying in the country and suggested that she could at least get "palliative care" in India.

Louise Mensch gets Twitter-snarked after her attack on presidential candidate Mike Gravel for speaking with RT

Louise Mensch
Twitter-famous conspiracy theorist Louise Mensch has been bombarded by snarky comments after she accused former US senator Mike Gravel of betraying his country. His treasonous crime? Agreeing to an interview with RT.

Gravel, who is currently running for president, shared a clip from his appearance on RT's Going Underground on Twitter, noting that he was "honored" to come on the show and discuss the US-backed coup in Venezuela.

Mensch, who is British, apparently thought that the former Alaska senator's performance was an affront to the crown - or something.

"Traitor," Mensch tweeted in response to the video.
