Dem Rep. says term 'pedophile' is discriminatory

rep katie porter
"It is alleging that a person is criminal somehow and engaged in criminal acts merely because of their gender identity, their sexual orientation."

During a Congressional hearing on 'anti-LGBTQ violence,' a Democratic Representative parroted the same claim as several LGBTQ activists that the terms 'groomer' and 'pedophile' are discriminatory against sexual preferences and gender identity.

During the hearing before the House Oversight and Reform Committee, California Rep. Katie Porter asserted that the phrase "groomer" is a "lie" used to maliciously discriminate against LGBTQ+ people and make them appear to be a "threat."

Are Covid vaccines behind the drop in birth rates in 2022?

Vaccination
We're now halfway through Advent, the time of year when Christians worldwide celebrate the latter stages of the Virgin Mary's pregnancy and the upcoming anniversary of the arrival of their Messiah in tiny baby form. Thus it seems like a relevant time to discuss the section of the UKHSA Vaccine Surveillance Report that covers the impact of the vaccines on pregnancy.

The UKHSA started including data on pregnancy at the end of November 2021. Like all aspects of the UKHSA Vaccine Surveillance Report, it appears to have been included because the data conformed to the message being promoted by the Government, that is, that the vaccines were safe to be taken before or during pregnancy; I very much doubt that these data would have been included if there were significant negative outcomes being seen in the data.

From the start the UKHSA has focused on stillbirths and birthweight. The data that it does present are reassuring in that they suggest that the vaccines do not have any detrimental effect on these pregnancy outcomes, at least. That said, there have been questions regarding its presentation of the data that it did include. For example, it doesn't offer any analysis of the data by the period within the pregnancy in which vaccination occurred. This is important because risks vary over the months of pregnancy, and a high risk in one period might be diluted by being mixed with data from other periods in the pregnancy that show no additional risk. There's also the consideration of its use of cumulative statistics, that is, it often doesn't offer month by month data but merely updates its total for each new report. Attempts at reverse engineering a monthly figure for stillbirths, for example, suggested that there had been an increase in the early months of this year, whereas this effect was masked in the cumulative data. It certainly would be far less suspicious if the UKHSA presented its data in a more straightforward fashion.

Ukraine hits Donetsk with worst shelling in eight years - mayor

Donetsk cathedral
The city of Donetsk has been subjected to the largest-scale Ukrainian artillery attack since the region rebelled against Kiev in the wake of the 2014 armed coup in Kiev, local officials have said. A cathedral was among the buildings hit by Kiev's artillery.

Ukrainian troops fired 40 rockets from Grad multiple rocket launchers at several neighborhoods of central Donetsk at around 7 a.m. local time (4 a.m. GMT), Mayor Aleksey Kulemzin said on social media. Several conventional shells also hit the city both before and after the barrage, he added.

Official images following the strikes show damaged buildings and cars amid widespread destruction. The central dome of a cathedral has been hit, according to photos published on social media. At least one projectile landed near a school, while others struck homes, shops and a children's playground, according to the mayor.

A Lockheed Martin F-35B military aircraft crashed off a runway near Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth on Thursday. The pilot ejected "successfully," according to the company.

White Settlement police said they responded around 10:15 a.m. to a request from the Defense Department and Lockheed Martin about the crash, which was on military property near the flight line. The pilot is under observation and there were no reports of fire, police said.

Culture of degeneracy? US Army officers probed over BDSM gear photos

US Army
© Twitter/@NoVA_CampaignsScreenshot from twitter of US Army officer reportedly under investigation for posing in dog mask.
The US Army is investigating several officers who took sexually explicit photos of themselves wearing BDSM gear, USA Today reported on Monday citing Army officials.

The photos were spread on social media last week and showed the male soldiers in uniform or parts of their uniforms, wearing chains, leather and dog masks. Some of the photos depicted poses of sexual acts or submission play, while another featured an officer in a dog mask standing on an airfield.

According to the outlet, internal Pentagon email traffic suggested that the pictures were taken at a base in Hawaii, where the soldiers are believed to be based.

"US Army Pacific is aware of content found on social media reflecting soldiers' activities while wearing uniforms," an Army spokesperson told USA Today in a statement, adding that "the incident is currently under investigation."

Conduct by an officer that disgraces them personally or brings dishonor to the military profession is prohibited under US military law, and carries a range of potential punishments, including letters of reprimand and demotions.

Comment: But won't any punishment for Uniform Code violations come into conflict with the military's DEI PR values? Someone's sweating right now. Punish the perverted Woke at your own peril, because the current standards are no standards.

Best of the Web: Huge blast hits major oil refinery in latest hit to Russian infrastructure, fuels suspicions of sabotage

russia oil explosion
Flames are pictured rising from the Angarsk facility, which produces jet fuel and diesel which can be used by Russia's military vehicles
A huge explosion has badly damaged a key oil refinery in far eastern Russia in just the latest mystery blast to hit the country's infrastructure.

The blast struck Angarsk Oil Refinery, near the Siberian city of Irkutsk, around 5.50am local time Thursday - lighting up the early morning sky with a fireball.

Two people were killed and five injured in the explosion, which officials say was caused by 'gas contamination' of the plant's equipment though it is unclear whether this was an accident or whether it was sabotaged.

It comes against the backdrop of multiple blasts and fires at locations with links to Russia's military or oligarchs that many suspect are being orchestrated by Ukraine.

Comment: This is not exactly true, because two of the most recent fires were at shopping malls.

Comment: Hmmm... is the re-entry of a long-range rocket visible as a 'bright flash in the sky' moments before impact?

Not to our knowledge.

It could be that eyewitnesses simply saw the explosion first, then heard it as the soundwave reached them afterwards.

But if there really was something streaking through the sky towards the refinery, then what on Earth was it?

The US-EU-Ukraine aren't firing missiles at Siberia, surely?

Below are just some of the most recent suspect fires and explosions in Russia. We suspect that most of them are due to sabotage and/or remotely-activated cyberattacks.

The Dutch government is set to steal family farms across the Netherlands in the name of demented 'green' agenda

Farm netherlands
A farm in the Netherlands
In late November, the Dutch government set aside approximately $25 billion to begin buying farmland, whether the owners want to sell or not. "There is no better offer coming," Dutch Nitrogen Minister Christianne van der Waal told farmers. The government expects to purchase between 2000 and 3000 farms.

Government leaders claim that the radical restructuring of Dutch farming is necessary for the good of the environment. However, facts suggest that this has little to do with the environment and much to do with centralizing power.

Arguments over farming regulations in the Netherlands have been raging for some time now.

In October 2019, the Raad von State (the Netherlands' equivalent of the Supreme Court) ruled that the country's previous system for regulating nitrogen emissions did not comply with EU regulations. Dutch politicians stated that the nation should withdraw permission for farmers to emit nitrogen, suggesting that Dutch farmers reduce their livestock numbers by half.

Of course, this was not popular. Farmers have bills to pay just like the rest of us, and telling a business owner that they have to cut production in half usually means the end of the business. Not surprisingly, Dutch farmers started protesting, causing more than 600 miles of traffic jams by clogging highways with their tractors.

Comment: How do the green morons function?? Along with carbon dioxide, nitrogen is one of the indispensable nutrients plant require to exist. Lower one or the other past subsistence levels, and say goodbye to the human race. Of course that is the goal of some of those lunatics.

If their beef (no pun intended) is with industrial sources of fertilizer, then they ought to be supporting organic farming practices as the author describes. But, whoops, that involves raising animals as part of the process. No committed vegan greenie would sign on to that. Canada's WEF minion Justin Trudeau jumps on the agenda: The reality:

Elon Musk released video footage of the man who allegedly stalked and attacked the car in which his young son was riding. "Anyone recognize this person or car?" He tweeted, along with a video showing a masked man in black inside a car.

The individual recorded the recorder in return, holding up his phone. The video shows the license plate number of the Hyundai, as well, reading CJ82G38. "Yup, pretty sure," a voice can be heard saying over the recording.

Comment: Unfortunately prominent reformers are always subject to harassment and worse from those they oppose. For instance, the antifa-wannabe pictured above. He is is aware of his peril, but sadly, it can also include his family.

Western nations have used the Ukraine conflict as a pretext to destroy what was left of the freedom of speech, Sonja van den Ende says

The EU is reportedly planning to target Russian media channels with the upcoming ninth sanctions package, freezing the assets of ANO TV-Novosti, RT's parent company, and revoking licenses from those few outlets which still hold them within the bloc.

RT spoke on the new planned broadside against Russian media with Sonja van den Ende, a Dutch journalist, who believes the ongoing crisis has become a pretext to intensify the years-long crackdown on freedom of speech in the West.

ECB to hike rates in bid to push Europe-wide recession in battle against soaring inflation

Christine Lagarde
© Thierry Monasse / Getty ImagesFILE PHOTO: President of the European Central Bank Christine Lagarde attends a hearing of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs in the European Parliament on November 28, 2022 in Brussels, Belgium. The burden will ultimately be shared between firms and workers, the head of the European Central Bank warns.
The European Central Bank opted for a smaller rate hike at its Thursday meeting, taking its key rate from 1.5% to 2%, but said it would need to raise rates "significantly" further to tame inflation.

It also said that from the beginning of March 2023 it would begin to reduce its balance sheet by 15 billion euros ($16 billion) per month on average until the end of the second quarter of 2023.

It said it would announce more details about the reduction of its asset purchase program (APP) holdings in February, and that it would regularly reassess the pace of decline to ensure it was consistent with its monetary policy strategy.

Comment: According to one analyst, put simply: Lagarde is announcing that in order to stem soaring inflation the ECB intends for Europe to go into a 'serious' recession:
"The ECB has woken up to the risks of inflation becoming anchored, and they will now be very serious about tightening monetary policy.

[...]

Despite a bunch of rate hikes, the ECB thinks core inflation will be still at more than double (!) its target in 1 year from today."
