Mask psychosis: New Yorker publishes insane 'case for wearing masks forever'

Masked child
An activist group calling themselves the "People's CDC" are calling on all levels of government to reenact mask mandates, claiming that "the vaccine-only strategy promoted by the CDC is insufficient," according to a profile by the New Yorker.

The group has made it their mission to distribute widely what they claim to be "real" information about the pandemic, often going against CDC recommendations. The article, titled "The Case for Wearing Masks Forever", written by Emma Green and published Wednesday, describes the People's CDC as a "ragtag coalition of public-health activists" who "believe that America's pandemic restrictions are too lax."

Comment: Fortunately this group of fanatics who continue pushing for tighter controls and suffer from "mask psychosis" now appear to be in the minority.

'Distrust of government' is bad for you, claims study funded by government

trudeau distrust government
A new study claims that it is unhealthy to distrust your government, but as it turns out, these studies themselves are funded by several federal and federally-funded Canadian agencies.

The study, published by the American Journal of Medicine "but authored by a trio in Canada," outlines how Covid vaccine hesitancy correlates with an increased risk of being in a traffic accident.

The study was conducted by Canadian researchers, who looked at encrypted government-held data of 11 million adults, with 16 percent of them not having received the Covid vaccine.

Sweden's new pediatric treatment guidelines ditch 'gender-affirming' medication for psychotherapy

Sweden published new treatment guidelines that abandon the model of care that "affirms" a child's chosen transgender identity with medication.

The Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare (NBHW) published new treatment guidelines for youth with gender dysphoria last week that explicitly instruct medical providers that psychosocial support should be the first line of treatment. The updated guidelines follow a 2021 policy change that jettisoned the use of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones to treat gender dysphoric youth, outside of a clinical research setting.

"Psychosocial support that helps the young person live with the body's pubertal development without medication needs to be the first option when choosing care measures," the guidelines read, according to the Society for Evidence-based Gender Medicine.

Comment: Once again, Sweden proves itself to be leading western nations in common sense (at least in some areas).

More from National Review:
Sweden's national board of health just updated its guidelines on the care of children with gender dysphoria, and "caution" is its new watchword. It declares that extended psychosocial explorations are key. From its announcement (Google translation):
Young people suffering from gender dysphoria need to be able to quickly receive an investigation and be offered adequate care measures, based on the health-care system's assessments of care needs. Good psychosocial care is fundamental, says Thomas Lindén, head of department at the National Board of Health and Welfare.
Contrary to the Biden administration's and gender activists' assertions that the science is settled — there is a paucity of studies on the best approach to caring for gender-dysphoric children (my emphasis).
The National Board of Health and Welfare has previously, based on, among other things, data from SBU, the Swedish National Agency for Medical and Social Evaluation, concluded that systematic documentation and follow-up of care does not take place to a sufficient extent and that the scientific data is insufficient to assess the effects of puberty-inhibiting and gender-sensitive hormone therapy of children and young people.

The need for good clinical studies is clear from the knowledge gaps listed by SBU. Follow-up and evaluation was something we emphasized already in the knowledge support in 2015, and since then very little knowledge has been added. It is important that the health- and medical-care regions work to ensure that systematic documentation and follow-up of care at the national level is realized and that clinical studies can start," says Thomas Lindén.
The board also wants to cut back on what activists call "top surgeries," that is mastectomies of children:
There is also a recommendation regarding breast surgery (surgical removal of breast tissue). Similar to the hormonal treatments, the assessment is that such treatment should continue to be given within the framework of research, and that, pending the onset of a research study, it can be given in exceptional cases, according to the criteria contained in the knowledge support.

"As with the previously presented recommendations on hormone therapy, the uncertain state of knowledge suggests caution at present," says Thomas Lindén.
The Swedes also note the explosion in cases and the "detransition" phenomenon:
Several factors have pointed towards increased caution in offering hormonal and surgical treatment: insufficient scientific evidence, a yet-to-be-explained increase in the number of people being diagnosed, especially 13-17 years old and with registered sex female at birth, less uniform experience-based knowledge among participating experts than in 2015, and the documented prevalence of detransition.
This recommendation makes clear that, despite the caterwauling of gender-ideology warriors, there is no general scientific agreement — much less certainty — on how to best care for children with gender dysphoria, nor is there currently the depth of knowledge or the kind of systematically collected evidence required to assume that certainty. The recent spike in cases warrants an investigation as it may indicate a social contagion, akin to how youth suicide can sometimes proliferate.

Elon Musk warns 'legacy media' and 'corporate journalism': 'We have only just begun'

Musk said legacy media should worry about their own reputation

Billionaire and Twitter CEO Elon Musk slammed "corporate journalism" and "legacy media" in separate tweets about the response to the Twitter Files and claims that his reputation is in trouble.

"Why is corporate journalism rushing to defend the state instead of the people?" Musk wrote Tuesday in response to a tweet about a Substack post headlined "In Response to the Twitter Files, Establishment Media Rushes to Defend the FBI," written by Leighton Woodhouse.

Musk has released several installments of the Twitter Files through independent journalists such as Bari Weiss and Matt Taibbi.

A recent installment detailed the coordination between Twitter and government agencies went way beyond the FBI.

Comment: The Daily Caller adds:
Musk has sparred with corporate media since he finalized his $44 billion purchase of Twitter in April. Most recently, a handful of outlets raged at the tech mogul for suspending the accounts of eight journalists for "doxxing" his private jet's location in mid-December. The New York Times called this act "questionable and unfortunate," and The Washington Post asserted that it "directly undermines" Musk's push for free speech on the platform.

The Twitter CEO further launched the "Twitter Files" to disclose information regarding Twitter's suppression of the New York Post's Hunter Biden laptop story in October 2020. Journalists Matt Taibbi, Bari Weiss, Lee Fang and author Michael Shellenberger have released long threads which included information about the FBI's communication and financial involvement with Twitter, and the social media company's treatment of prominent conservatives.

Musk criticized "corporate journalism" for its alleged lack of coverage on the "Twitter Files" in a Tuesday tweet.

Elon Musk reveals Twitter employees had 'Fauci Fan Club' Slack group

Dr. Anthony Fauci and Twitter CEO Elon Musk
Twitter owner Elon Musk on Wednesday said that the social media company, under the old guard, had an "unironically"-named internal group chat in their Slack channel called "Fauci Fan Club," in honor of Anthony Fauci, the health official who lead the US mask, vaccine, and lockdown response to Covid.

Fauci, who is the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and the chief medical advisor to the president, has been widely criticized for dishonest and corrupt decisions that led to massive amounts of government tyranny in the form of forced social distancing, medical practices, inoculations, etc.

Musk's words were in response to software engineer Marc Andreessen, who posted a screenshot of an artificial intelligence engine's response to the question; "Has Fauci ever lied?" The AI, called ChatGTP, responded with "it is not accurate or fair to say" that the "highly respected scientist" ever lied.

Comment: Indeed, Musk has had a lot to say regarding Fauci:

Charge of the woke brigade!

University bosses have been blasted for laying on a 'decolonising' campus tour in which the poet Alfred, Lord Tennyson was branded 'problematic'.
Lincoln University said Tennyson 'supported imperialism' and his 'failings' needed to be 'acknowledged and regretted'.

Lincolnshire-born Tennyson, whose famous works include The Charge Of The Light Brigade, was Poet Laureate for Queen Victoria and died in 1892.

Around 150 students took part in the tour around the university's buildings which sought to expose the 'offensive views' of historical figures featured on the campus.

Why the news block on the plight of Dutch farmers?

bulls
© Paulus PotterPaulus Potter "The Bull"
God made the world, but the Dutch made Holland. This truism has guided Dutch identity and its republican virtue. When the ingenious Dutch reclaimed land from the sea it was for farms and these farms and farmers have fed the Dutch people, Europe and the world for centuries.

The picture displayed here is Paulus Potter's famous work 'The Bull'. Created in 1647, Potter was 22 when he painted it and not quite 30 when he died. Renowned for its massive size, detailed realism including dung and flies and as a novel monumental picture of an animal, The Bull is understood as a symbol of the Dutch nation and its prosperity.

The Dutch Golden Age resulted in part from the creation of the Dutch Republic carved out by overcoming Spanish rule in the Netherlands. The little Dutch Republic became a global naval power and cultural force. The Dutch were classical liberals and believed in individual liberties like freedom of religion, speech and association.

The Dutch Republic was noted for economic vibrancy and innovation including the emergence of commodity and stock markets. The newly minted bourgeoisie spurred the first modern marketplace for artists to sell their work and freed them from the necessity of commissions from the Church and aristocracy. This is reflected in the subject matter of much Dutch Golden Age art with its depiction of everyday life. Potter's painting is from this era.

But his work reveals another truth. The Dutch Golden age was impossible without its farms. Food is the foundation of any successful civilization, which is why the news that the Dutch government plans to shut as many as 3,000 farms for the sake of a ''nitrogen crisis'' is so puzzling.

Comment: The disruption of the food chain is a primary goal in the attack on humanity. The PTB are 'banking' on its success.

Thousands of migrants have formed long lines along entry points at the U.S.-Mexico border, awaiting the end of a Trump-era policy allowing for the expulsion of over one million migrants.

Title 42, the Trump-era policy that expelled certain illegal migrants on the basis of mitigating the spread of COVID-19, is set to end after being extended to control the influx of migrants flooding across the border. Officials in El Paso, Texas, have grown overwhelmed as migrants awaiting entry form long lines along the border.

Daily Caller field reporter Jorge Ventura encountered approximately 2,000 migrants waiting in freezing weather to be let in the border patrol gates. The situation at the border is expected to augment with Title 42 set to expire.
