Trans-identified male at center of Santee YMCA controversy had previously sued a gym for access to women's facilities

The trans-identified male who allegedly exposed himself to a 17-year-old girl at a YMCA facility in California has stepped forward to reveal his identity in response to a January 18 rally held outside of the property. Christynne Lili Wrene Wood, 66, addressed a crowd of counter-protesters and stated, "I'm the scary transgender woman who that child misidentified as a man."

The Santee YMCA has become the subject of international concern after clips from a January 11 city council meeting went viral on social media. During the meeting, local teenager Rebecca Phillips became emotional as she told representatives that she had seen a nude male in the women's locker rooms at the YMCA.

Phillips said that she was showering after her workout when she "saw a naked male in the women's locker room," and became emotional as she recounted her ordeal.

A Utah plastic surgeon, his neighbor, and two others are facing charges after allegedly giving people fake vaccination cards and destroying government-provided COVID-19 vaccinations.

Dr. Michael Kirk Moore Jr., 58, and his neighbor, Kristin Jackson Andersen, 59, have been charged with conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to convert, sell, convey, and dispose of government property, conversion sale, conveyance, and disposal of government property and aiding and abetting.

The Plastic Institute of Utah Inc., along with office manager Kari Dee Burgoyne, 52, and receptionist Sandra Flores, 31, faces the same charges.

According to court documents, Moore and his co-defendants allegedly ran a scheme out of Plastic Surgery Institute of Utah Inc. to defraud the United States and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).


Comment: The CDC gets to lie and defraud the public but they don't like it when it happens to them...


The documents say Moore and Andersen were members of a private organization seeking to "liberate the medical profession from government and industry conflicts of interest."

New Delhi never approved the company's jab as the US drugmaker apparently wanted protection from lawsuits over adverse effects.

US drugmaker Pfizer attempted to "bully the Indian government" into granting it indemnity from legal action over its Covid-19 vaccine, Electronics and Technology Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar has claimed. The vaccine shot was ultimately never approved in India.

"Just to remind all Indians, that Pfizer tried to bully the government of India into accepting conditions of indemnity," Chandrasekhar tweeted on Friday. The minister then accused three prominent opposition leaders of "pushing foreign vaccines during Covid."

On November 11th 2022, we wrote a formal letter of complaint to the Statistics Regulator about the Office for National Statistics' (ONS) data on vaccine mortality. We said they were not fit for purpose.

Note that we concluded by saying:
The fact that these data are being used as continued justification for the efficacy and safety of the Covid vaccines is therefore now a matter of national concern and scandal... In the meantime, we call for

1. the public withdrawal of the ONS dataset and

2. the retraction of any claims made by others that are based upon it.

Higher education reform in America's Red states: More of the same is not enough

Proposals to reform higher education have been bubbling around since William F. Buckley's God and Man at Yale (1951). As conservatives have founded organizations like ACTA and National Association of Scholars to reform our increasingly ideological, incompetent universities, things have only gotten worse.

The Left now holds these institutions with an iron grip. Administrators and faculty on the Left control budgets, policies, supervisory powers, professional standards, hiring, promotion, curriculum, and student life. They credential those who can serve in universities. Administrators are products of the system. Faculty self-select those within the system. Pay is great. Security is good. Accountability is affirming.

Leftist control comes in the form of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) policies. As I show elsewhere, diversity policies involve racial preferences for faculty positions and student admissions so that more minorities and fewer "oppressors" are on campus. Inclusion policies concern favoring some forms of speech (anti-white and anti-Western, for instance) and associations (LGBTQ graduations) while disfavoring other forms of speech (any speech that challenges the DEI hegemony on campus).

I have just received a very interesting MHRA reply to an FOI request about whether the Healthy Secretary delegated Covid vaccine decisions to the MHRA.

MHRA said "All the Covid vaccines and therapeutics authorisation decisions were taken by the Licensing Minister and were not delegated."

What makes this so interesting is the wider context. Under the Human Medicines Regulations, the Licensing Authority is the Secretary of State for Health. He or she delegates to MHRA all the work associated with that - licensing of medicines, pharmacovigilance, inspection of manufacturers, enforcement and so on.

Comment: In related news, on January 9th, UKHSA published a 'living document' which serves as "clinical guidance to support the detection and management of clinical cases of myocarditis and pericarditis associated with coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination":


The BBC aired a segment with cardiologist Dr. Aseem Malhotra who said that a likely contributory factor to excess cardiovascular deaths is the covid mRNA vaccines and the rollout should be suspended pending an inquiry:

Wokeness, the Highest Stage of Managerialism

It can be easy to forget how new our political and culture-war conflicts are. Ten years ago, critical race theory was something you'd encounter only online or in academic settings, Democratic politicians were still talking about civil unions for homosexual couples, and the media and federal government were busy pointing out how far America had come in repairing the broken race relations of the past. Today, little remains of that old order. Just how fast has this transformation unfolded? Consider a simple measure of how frequently the word "racism" appears in the nation's four largest newspapers: after staying basically constant from the 1970s to 2010, its usage explodes around 2012, with the Washington Post and the New York Times leading the charge.

Though this "Great Awokening" has scrambled political coalitions and upended widely held truths, wokeness itself remains a muddled concept. The obvious definition — that it is a belief system, what writer Wesley Yang has dubbed "the successor ideology" — has considerable merit. (See "The Identity Cult," Winter 2022.) But as American polarization increases, it becomes clear that wokeness is also a social, economic, legal, and political phenomenon; it cannot simply be reduced to the ideas inside people's heads. (See "The Genealogy of Woke Capital," Autumn 2021.)


Comment: And fundamentally, it is a psychopathological phenomenon.


If wokeness is an institutional force, a comparative analysis can help describe it. Most Europeans can remember when America was considered stodgy and conservative, compared with progressive Western Europe. And yet, in 2022, the U.S. is experiencing deeper levels of polarization and social strife than other Western countries. Polls suggest a rapid loss of faith in public institutions. Americans identifying with either political party increasingly see the other party as a threat to democracy itself.

11 Oregon counties vote to join Idaho so they don't have to deal with Portland's politics

The movement by residents of Eastern Oregon to secede from the state and join Idaho has taken a step further after a Republican state senator introduced a bill that would allow 11 counties to join their neighboring state.

State Senator Dennis Linthicum introduced Senate Joint Memorial 2 on January 10, also known as the 'Greater Idaho' bill.

'Eastern Oregon is culturally, politically, economically much more similar to Idaho than it is to western Oregon,' said Matt McCaw, a spokesman for the Greater Idaho Movement.

'Our movement is about self-determination and matching people to government that they want and that matches their values. In Oregon, we've had this urban-rural divide for a very long time.'

Comment: Not The Bee comments:
First, we had conservatives from other west coast states fleeing to Idaho because of liberal policies.

But some folks in Oregon have a more novel idea: Move Idaho to them.


That's more than half of geographical Oregon that is so tired of the crazy antics in Portlandia that they'd rather just join Idaho and leave their connection to their original home state completely behind.

(If your governance is so bad that half the state tries to leave, you're doing something wrong.)

Portland is one of the wackiest liberal cities in the United States, and more than half of Oregon can't stand them. Yet that's where the center of power is for the Beaver state.

Of course, this movement is probably not going anywhere.

People will just have to do things the old-fashioned way.

Can't stand Oregon? Just move!

(While the government still lets us travel, that is!)

Last year, Brian Lande, an officer in the Richmond, Calif., police department, had to draw his gun to stop two drunk men from clobbering each other to death with metal rods.

In 2015, he threatened deadly force to stop a fight between two more drunk men. One was armed with a hatchet. Another, with a wrench.

On another occasion, he drew his firearm to arrest a man hopping a backyard fence, fleeing the scene of a burglary.

None of these was remarkable in Richmond, a working-class city just east of San Francisco that's notorious for its drive-by shootings, break-ins, carjackings, and countless petty crimes.

When I asked Lande if he often had to unholster his gun — a standard-issue Glock 17 — he told me he'd done it so many times that "they all bleed into each other."

Luckily, he's never had to pull the trigger.

Authorities have come up with a term that sounds at least halfway sane. They're calling it "thermal reprocessing." Four federal states now claim to have thermally reprocessed - or, in plain language, to have incinerated - a total of 17.25 million expired Corona masks.

Baden-Württemberg has destroyed 6.1 million masks, Saxony 5.5 million, North Rhine-Westphalia 5 million, and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern 656,000 ...

The Federal Ministry of Health (BMG) in Berlin has also "thermally recycled" masks in recent months. The number so far is "less than one million units," a spokesperson said ... The destroyed masks were purchased during the peak of the pandemic, and have exceeded their expiration date ...

The federal and state governments are currently standing atop a billion-dollar mountain of masks. According to information provided by the Ministry of Health in September, there are a total of 3.7 billion masks in the federal inventory ... The federal states have have an additional 180 million Corona masks at their disposal ...
The states want to burn even more masks, but for the moment they're not allowed, because much of the surplus in their possession is technically federal property.
