Nine children aged between 12 and 14 and two adults were killed in a crash in Russia after a bus was rammed by a truck. The children in the bus belonged to an acrobatics team returning from a competition in another city, local authorities said.

The collision in the Urals region involved a bus carrying 29 children and three accompanying adults from the city of Khanty-Mansiysk to Tumen, the local police said.

"There are 10 ambulances responding to the incident. At the current moment, everyone injured has been taken to the hospital or is in transit," Vadim Simonenko, spokesman for local emergencies services, told RT.

Participants in Saturday evening's demonstration walked about two kilometers from Plaza de España to Plaza de Neptuno carrying banners demanding that the government put an end to budget cuts and act independently from Brussels. They also accused their government of protecting the interests of big multinational corporations at the expense of the Spanish people.

US military veterans continue to arrive at Standing Rock, with up to 3,500 expected in total. They are due to meet with tribal elders to discuss how they can best help the ongoing protest, marked by heavy police force and bitterly cold weather conditions.

Members of "Veterans Stand for Standing Rock," who have been told to bring supplies such as gas masks, earplugs and body armor (but no drugs, alcohol or weapons), plan to form a human shield around protesters to protect them against rubber bullets and the police.

"We feel that we have a voice that is unique as many of us have served in overseas deployments," Brian Trautman of the Veterans for Peace group told RT.

"And in terms of the respect, the honor and the pedestal on which the American people hold veterans, I think we can certainly provide that assistance to the Native American peoples, to bring in the people of the United States into awareness of what's going on at Standing Rock."

21 indicted at Forest Park Medical Center in 'massive' Dallas hospital 'conspiracy'

The U.S. Justice Department in the Northern District of Texas Thursday unsealed indictments against 21 individuals, some of them among the highest profile doctors in the City of Dallas.

Prosecutors allege a bribery and kick-back scheme involving about $40 million in payments of all kinds. Some of these doctors are high-profile, some are not. The indictment named 21 individuals in all and all were not doctors.

There's a chiropractor, a lawyer, an ad agency executive and some office workers, allegedly caught either receiving or paying bribes over several years. One of the doctors indicted Thursday has already been convicted of fraudulent billing practices.

Nine days of mourning and a four-day procession across the country ended on Sunday in eastern Cuba, as Fidel Castro was laid to rest next to the country's independence hero Jose Marti.

Crowds shouting "Viva Fidel!" and "I am Fidel!" lined the streets of Santiago, Cuba's second-biggest city, as a camouflage-green hearse made its way to Santa Ifigenia cemetery, the resting place of numerous national figures, where a tomb had been secretly constructed during the past months.

A 21-gun salute was fired, as the ashes, clad in a coffin wrapped in the country's flag, disappeared beyond the gates of the cemetery. The ceremony was not televised, and journalists were not allowed inside.

Employees of the Berlin Senate Administration knew that men who were employed as foster fathers in the 1970s were condemned pedophiles. This is evidenced by a study by the Göttingen-based scientist who investigated the involvement of the Senate with the pedophiles. This is what Spiegel reports in its current issue.

Helmut Kentler, a researcher who was employed at the Pedagogical Center in Berlin, had convinced the employees of the Senate for Youth to place the teenagers in the custody of pedophiles.

Increasingly, students on American campuses perceive advocating for justice in Palestine as a moral imperative. The steady growth of the Boycott Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement for Palestinian freedom has been met by a wave legislation aimed at punishing or suppressing our 1st amendment rights to free speech and silencing student activism. The latest of these bills is the Anti-Semitism Awareness Act, introduced yesterday by U.S. Senators Bob Casey (D-PA) and Tim Scott (R-SC), which redefines anti-Semitism to include criticism of Israel.

Ostensibly, according to Senators Casey and Scott, the purpose of the legislation is to "ensure the U.S. Department of Education (DOE) has the necessary statutory tools at their disposal to investigate anti-Jewish incidents", implying previous investigations by the DOE, which failed to substantiate accusations of anti-Semitism, lacked sufficient tools to criminalize activism critical of Israel on campus.

The institutional left's funding behemoth W.K. Kellogg Foundation has partnered with and given major donations to George Soros's Open Society Institute and the Tides Center as part of its massive push to promote a far-left agenda.

The W.K. Kellogg Foundation is the nonprofit arm of cereal and sweets giant Kellogg's, based in Battle Creek, Michigan. The Kellogg Company is chiefly known for its breakfast brands, including Special K cereal, Eggo waffles, and Pop-Tarts; but its namesake nonprofit W.K. Kellogg Foundation is one of the largest institutional funders in the world and is the seventh largest philanthropic foundation in the United States.

The Kellogg's website explains the history of the Foundation:

As the United States sunk into the Depression, W.K. Kellogg declared, "I'll invest in people." He split shifts and hired new employees to work them. He also founded the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, whose mission — to help children realize their potential — complements that of the Kellogg Company to this day.

In recent years, however, the focus of the Foundation has drifted away from just helping children toward promoting left-wing political issues.

Comment: As the old saying goes, "the devil's greatest trick is convincing the world that he doesn't exist." Neoliberalism is quite similar in some respects. Under the guise of humanitarian values; racial, economic and sexual orientation equality, social justice, etc. - the policies of the institutions that push for them quite often work to subvert the very causes they profess to want to strengthen. It amounts to nothing less than totalitarian social engineering for fun and profit.

A biting winter's chill seeps through embattled Aleppo as a city braces itself for what could be the worst months of a war approaching its sixth year.

Driving into government-controlled west Aleppo, through military checkpoints, a landscape of skeletal buildings is a monument to Syria's spiral into violence.

The fate of Syria's second city now looms as a bellwether for the course of this confrontation - ominous for some, enticing for others.

"By the end of December, we'll drink wine to celebrate a new year, and our triumph," says a young soldier standing by a green bus plastered with photographs of a smiling President Bashar al-Assad.

Syrian forces, bolstered by Iranian-backed militias and Russian air cover, are advancing with speed across a swathe of rebel-held territory in eastern Aleppo.

Turkish coast guard aids Russian cargo ship after it runs aground near Istanbul

All 14 crew members of a dry cargo ship that went ashore near Istanbul on Friday evening have been rescued and taken to the hospital for precautionary checks, Turkish media report.

The Volgodon-203 ship was reportedly heading to the Black Sea after unloading its cargo in the Turkish port of Izmir when it was caught in strong winds and ran aground near Istanbul's Kartal district at about 9 p.m. local time, Haber 7 channel reported.

Coast guard, marine police, medical and fire brigades took part in the rescue efforts. Russia's consulate general in Istanbul confirmed there was no threat to the crew members' health.
