Just 10 rivers carry 90% of plastic polluting our oceans

Asia is responsible for 8 of the rivers that have the most plastic waste.
Over the last decade we have become increasingly alarmed at the amount of plastic in our oceans.

More than 8 million tons of it ends up in the ocean every year. If we continue to pollute at this rate, there will be more plastic than fish in the ocean by 2050.

But where does all this plastic waste come from?

The left's overlooked immigration problems

refugees welcome demonstration
I'm still ticked off at him for not building the wall, but THANK YOU, PRESIDENT TRUMP, FOR POINTING OUT THAT MAXINE WATERS HAS A LOW I.Q.!

And there's more great news! Contrary to every single New York Times editorial and opinion piece on the president's "Muslim ban," this week, the Supreme Court upheld the ban.

Or, as a Times op-ed put it back on Jan. 27, 2017: "(T)he order is illegal. More than 50 years ago, Congress outlawed such discrimination against immigrants based on national origin. ..." -- "Trump's Immigration Ban Is Illegal," by David J. Bier, immigration policy analyst at the Cato Institute.

Comment: If a nation functions as an organism, then the metaphor for borders would be a semi-permeable membrane that selectively and intelligently lets things inside of the organism. The ideal functioning of that membrane would be to let in the good of other nations while leaving out the bad.

Clearly America's not succeeding in that regard.

'Path of Blood' documentary film-maker defends use of footage shot by al-Qaida terrorists

Path of Blood includes the brutal interrogation of an American hostage.
A Bafta-winning film-maker has defended his decision to make a documentary using video footage taken by jihadist terrorists, saying the work humanises but does not glamorise.

Path of Blood, which opens in cinemas next week, has no narrator or interviewees and relies solely on the raw footage filmed by the terrorists themselves as they plot to detonate car bombs in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.

"People say 'don't give terrorists air time', but what they should say is 'understand these people'. Only by understanding the nature of their faith, the nature of their psychology will you be able to combat them," said Jonathan Hacker.

Democrats debate anti-establishment candidates despite their increasing delusions and irrelevance

The public debate for Democrats has centered around whether the party is drifting to the left.

But on the heels of Rep. Joseph Crowley's (D-N.Y.) upset primary loss to 28-year-old Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the real battle is looking more like a fight between establishment and anti-establishment forces.

"I think it's less about left-right and more about new-old," said Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.), who defeated a Democratic incumbent to win his seat in Congress in 2016.

Comment: There is no left-right in American politics: there's only Deep State and not Deep State.

Comment: The Democrats have clearly and increasingly demonstrated their radical left postmodernist agenda, their delusional views of reality, and their utter uselessness over the last two years while alienating the majority of Americans. Only in their deranged fantasies will they see any gains in the upcoming elections.

Democrats becoming no party for Old White Men

Paul Ryan

Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, R-Wis., joined by Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., talks to reporters following a closed-door GOP strategy session at the Capitol in Washington June 26, 2018.
For Nancy Pelosi, 78, Steny Hoyer, 79, and Joe Biden, 75, the primary results from New York's 14th congressional district are a fire bell in the night.

All may be swept away in the coming revolution. That is the message of the crushing defeat of 10-term incumbent Joe Crowley, who had aspired to succeed Pelosi and become speaker of the House.

The No. 4 House Democrat, Crowley, 56, had not faced primary opposition since 2004. He outspent his opponent, 28-year-old Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who was tending bar a year ago, by 10 to one.

The son of an Irish immigrant, Crowley was leader of the Queens Democratic Club. He had the unions' support. So confident was he that he skipped a debate and sent a Latina politician to stand in for him.

First comes Hubris, the god of arrogance. Then comes Nemesis, the goddess of retribution.

Around 300 people protest in New York City. The protest organized by Adalah-NY, The New York Campaign for the Boycott of Israel, Jewish Voice for Peace-NY, and Jews Say No!.
The House Committee on Foreign Affairs unanimously passed a measure on Thursday that would give the Trump administration power to decide how to punish U.S. companies that engage in or promote boycotts of Israel - including through criminal penalties.

The committee passed an amendment by voice vote from Rep. Ed Royce, R-Calif., that largely replaced the text of a bill called the Israel Anti-Boycott Act. When the original legislation was first introduced last year, it drew outrage from activists, and the American Civil Liberties Union warned that by threatening to impose steep criminal penalties on boycott activists engaged with international bodies' boycotts, the bill was unconstitutional.

Comment: Israel has good reason to be running scared. The world is finally becoming disgusted with 'that sh*tty little country'.

British intel agencies' interference 'only reason' ex-Guantanamo Bay prisoner was locked up

An ex-Guantanamo Bay inmate has said British intelligence agencies are the "only reason" he was locked up in the controversial facility. It follows revelations that the UK was more involved in US torture than previously known.

Moazzam Begg, who spent two years in Guantanamo, said that British interference was the only reason for his detention in the prison, which was established by former US president George W. Bush as part of the 'War on Terror' after the 9/11 attacks.

"The first instance in which an MI5 agent saw me was when my hands were tied behind my back, shackled to my legs, and a hood was placed over my head while Americans pointed guns towards me," Begg said.

Feminist war on humanity: Swedish law equating sex without 'explicit consent' to rape comes into force

man and woman holding hands
A Swedish law which states that sex without explicit consent constitutes rape came into effect on Sunday. Rape charges may now be applied even when there are no threats or violence involved.

Comment: And how will they prove explicit consent, or lack thereof? What counts as 'explicit consent' and will it hold up in a court of law?

The Swedish government, which proposed the bill in 2017, explains that the sexual consent legislation is based on the obvious fact that sex must be voluntary; if not, then it is illegal. "A rape conviction will no longer require the use of violence or threats by the perpetrator, or that a victim's particularly vulnerable situation was exploited."

The Scandinavian county, which already has extensive sexual assault laws, has also increased the minimum penalty for 'gross rape' and 'gross rape of a minor' from four to five years in prison. According to the latest official figures, around 7,000 sexual offences were reported in Sweden in 2017, which is a 10-percent increase from 2016.

Comment: Laws like this lead to the result that people engaging in sex will need to get notarized consent, so it's legally admissible evidence in a court of law, at every step of the process.

Obviously, the actual result will be that women have unlimited power to accuse men of non-consensual sex, now classified as rape, without any evidence beyond their word and can involve the state in every sexually active person's life. Thus, Feminism achieves its goals of empowerment through covert means by controlling the apparatus of the state through subjective legislation. For more information:

Delusional Michael Moore: Most Americans are very liberal and Trump is the devil

Michael Moore
© David Shankbone/Flickr
In eight minutes on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" Thursday night, film director Michael Moore called President Trump the devil, said the majority of Americans are liberal, and called for the abolition of the Electoral College.

Moore showed a clip of his "documentary" on Trump, "Fahrenheit 11/9," where he visits Mar-a-Lago and confronts the president, who he called the "Devil."

"Michael Moore, were you civil?" Colbert asked.

"I am as civil as any Eagle Scout, Catholic altar boy could be when confronted with the devil," he responded.

"What do you make of these calls for civility?"

"The calls that are coming from the uncivil, asking Democrats, who are usually so wimpy and weak and, 'Oh, it's okay, we'll take half of universal health care, we don't need the whole thing.' That's how our side sounds all the time. We're constantly giving in, and then a few people want to stand up and say, 'No, I've had enough. That's it,'" Moore said, ignoring the popular Saul Alinsky radical playbook for the Left, Rules for Radicals.

Comment: This is the result of living in a liberal echo chamber. Moore is completely out of touch with the average American.
