Putin's name was splashed all over the headlines as details on more than 11.5 million secret files covering Mossack Fonseca's four decades of operation started to emerge. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov referred to the coverage as "Putinophobia" that has become so severe that it is "practically impossible to speak well of Russia or any type of actions Russia does, or any success Russia enjoys."
"World leaders actually named in the #PanamaPapers but Putin, who is NOT named, is used by all media covering story?" Stacy Herbert asked on Twitter, referring to Saudi King Salman, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, the current president of Argentina Mauricio Macri among others.
"Pictures of President Putin could be found on the front pages of highly-respected news publications around the globe. The Guardian and the Mail Online were both at it, despite the fact that in the 11.5 million documents that were published; Putin's name was not mentioned once," Jose Alvarez observed, commenting on a CNN story on the Panama Papers.

At 6:35 p.m. on June 19, 2015, LAPD Officer Cairo Palacios and his unidentified partner were sitting in their patrol car stuck in traffic when they noticed a man standing on the sidewalk attempting to flag down the officers. According to LAPD Cmdr. Andrew Smith, the cops heard 48-year-old Walter DeLeon calling out to them saying, "Police, police."
Weeks experienced every parent's worst nightmare several years ago when she lost her little boy, Max. Max was only 4-years-old when he died from complications relating to his severe epilepsy.
For nearly three years, Weeks scraped together the money to pay for her son's specially made headstone of a teddy bear holding a star. On the headstone was a touching tribute to Max.

In fact, in the early nineties I actually explored the idea of moving out there myself. But now the California Dream has become a nightmare. Californians are being taxed to death, traffic in the major cities is absolutely horrific, violent crime and gang activity are on the rise, millions of illegal immigrants are putting an incredible strain on social support systems, and the ultra-liberal government in Sacramento seems to have gone completely insane. In addition, the state faces constant threats from earthquakes, wildfires, droughts and mudslides, so it is quite understandable why so many people feel motivated to leave and never come back.
As anyone who comes to our site knows, a shocking video was published last Thursday showing an Israeli soldier executing a wounded Palestinian youth as he lay immobile on the street in Hebron's Tel Rumeida neighborhood.
The video was shot by Imad Abu Shamsiya, who lives behind a wall of barbed wire in that neighborhood. As his video ricochets around the world, Abu Shamsiya is facing death threats, law suits and political pressure over his video. And it's not the first time he's come under assault. Jewish settlers want this brave shoemaker and other Palestinians to move out so they can take over his home.
Two months ago Adam Horowitz and I interviewed Abu Shamsiya with the help of Badia Dwaik of Human Rights Defenders, who works closely with Shamsiya.
Abu Shamsiya described conditions in his neighborhood reminiscent to me of the Warsaw Ghetto: a numbers system by which he must enter the neighborhood at this checkpoint near his house. "To get into his house, he has a number. He's not a name he's a number now." Abu Shamsiyah's number is 242, he says in the video below.
Comment: The irony of 'numbering' Palestinians in the occupied territories seems to be lost on the Israelis. Instead of learning from history, the Israelis are intent on repeating it, only this time with the shoe on the other foot. One would think that they would have been the first people to learn from the history of WWII, but instead they have created a bizarro paramoralism by using that history to justify ethnic cleansing, themselves.
It appears that the lock down of cash has begun.
Citing criminal activity as a factor, JP Morgan is limiting cash withdrawals at ATM machines.
The bank said there doesn't appear to be fraud involved. But partly due to heightened regulatory scrutiny, banks are paying more attention to large cash transfers that could be a sign of money laundering or other types of shady activity. Typically, the card-issuing bank sets withdrawal limits, not the bank owning the ATM.

Larson James RonDeau, 36, left, Josiah RonDeau, 20, Randall Flatlip, 26, and Jerry Flatlip, 29, have been booked on one count each of rape of a child and sodomy of a child.
According to a statement of probable cause filed March 30, the alleged assault occurred Easter Sunday at a home in Vernal, Utah.
The 9-year-old victim was with her mother at the home, and the mother was hanging out with a friend she met while incarcerated in jail. As the 9-year-old girl slept on the couch, her mother and that friend went into the garage and get high on methamphetamine.
When the mother returned, her daughter was on the couch but her clothes were in disarray and she seemed upset and wanted to go home. The next day, the girl reported that four men inside the home had taken her into a bedroom before taking turns raping her and then sodomizing her. The girl reported that while one of the men was raping her, he told her he would kill her if she ever told anyone about what was happening.
The girl's mother notified police, who responded to the home. One of the four alleged rapists was identified by the victim from a photograph, and 36-year-old Larson James RonDeau was taken into custody. RonDeau told police that the other three men had traveled to Montana for personal business along with the woman who the girl's mother had been there to visit, Glynda RonDeau. He told police he wasn't sure when they would return to Utah.
Comment: These people are not human beings, they are evil monsters. That poor girl.
