The Democrats went out of their way to victimize homeschoolers and children with disabilities

Democrats
This week, Congress passed a historic tax cut bill that will grow the economy and give millions of American families a raise. It was an incredible victory. House Republicans, Senate Republicans, and President Trump all deserve a lot of credit for getting this done.

But unfortunately, amidst the excitement over the passage of this fantastic legislation, one unfortunate development went nearly unreported: Democrats are so fiercely partisan that they went out of their way to victimize homeschooled kids, children with disabilities, and their parents.

And the worst part? They succeeded. Here's what happened:

Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas), one of the Senate's most outspoken advocates for school choice, introduced an addition to the tax bill called the Student Opportunity Amendment. The amendment would expand 529 college savings plans to also include K-12 education, allowing parents and grandparents to use these tax-advantaged plans to save up to $10,000 per child per year for private schools, religious schools, or even homeschooling.

On Wednesday morning Chicago police promptly cut off rush hour traffic on a street just north of Millennium Park. A man had flung himself from the heights of the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel, a sleek ultramodern skyscraper reaching 82-stories into the downtown skyline.

The Cook County medical examiner's office announced the next day it was a suicide. The jumper's name was James Csaszar.

Three hundred miles away, the ugly news jolted suburban Columbus, Ohio. Until November, Csaszar had worked as a Catholic priest at the Church of the Resurrection in New Albany, Ohio. Then, after misconduct allegations surfaced about the priest, the 44-year-old was placed on administrative leave.

An investigation into Csaszar will continue despite his death, Ohio law enforcement said.

Some video games require time and dedication, but dying for one might be a little too much. A man in Moscow was reportedly too busy playing a Star Wars virtual reality game to notice a cut on his head, which proved to be fatal.

The body of the 44-year-old was discovered in his apartment, police said in a statement on Friday. The man was playing the game while wearing a VR headset and apparently tripped and fell on a glass coffee table, breaking it. The blood loss he suffered from the head wound was fatal, the preliminary investigation showed.

All 58 victims killed during the Las Vegas massacre died of gunshot wounds and were homicides, a coroner's report found. A third of the victims were shot in the head. The gunman, Stephen Paddock, shot himself in the mouth.

The revelations came Thursday, in a list of findings from the autopsies of the 58 killed in the October 1 massacre, the deadliest mass shooting in recent US history.

"The manner of death in each case was homicide and the cause was a gunshot wound or wounds," Clark County Coroner John Fudenberg said on Thursday, according to KVVU-TV. The report shows that none of the victims died from injuries related to their attempts to escape the chaotic scene.

Comment: The Vegas shooting story is so full of holes as to be unbelievable. Survivors have also been mysteriously dying:

Islamic Defenders Front warn of 'sweeping operations' to stop non-Christians being forced to participate in festivities contrary to their beliefs

Indonesian police have appealed for tolerance and respect for other people's religious celebrations after an Islamist group threatened to raid businesses to check for Muslims being forced to wear Santa Claus hats or other Christmas garb.

The hardline Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) said this week it would conduct "sweeping operations" in the world's biggest Muslim-majority country, and that forcing Muslims to wear Christmas attire was a violation of their human rights.

Bank of America has joined the parade of American companies celebrating tax cuts by giving its employees a special year-end bonus.

Brian Moynihan, the bank's chief executive, sent an email to employees citing the benefits to the company from the lower corporate tax rate.

"In the spirit of shared success, we intend to pass some of those benefits along immediately. U.S. employees making up to $150,000 per year in total compensation-around 145,000 teammates-will receive a one-time bonus of $1,000 by year-end," Moynihan wrote.

Comment: Another company to add to the list. Question is whether these savings will continue to be passed on to their employees further down the road.
