The REAL 'Lunatic Fringe', And Where to Find it: The Anti-Lockdown Protests in Dublin

great awakening
On Sunday, an irate Irish society finally said 'no more'. For a year they had been subjected to a criminally long lockdown to the detriment of their physical, emotional, and financial well being.

Thousands of them took to the streets of Dublin to display their dissatisfaction with a Davos-owned political class and the police state they were held hostage in. Besides one or two trouble-makers the protests were peaceful and the message was loud and clear.

Enough is enough. The Irish did what they do best - demanded freedom, stood up to their oppressors and sang songs.

The oligarchs winced. Butterflies were doing somersaults in their overfed bellies. Panic set in and beads of sweat dripped down their deranged little heads. Their biggest fear was realised; the people refused to comply. As a result, what followed was an onslaught of desperation from every political party and establishment sycophant in the nation.

The usual rhetoric was thrown out; anti-vaxxers, anti-maskers, far-right, etc, etc.

Yawn!

The unbearable victim complex of Meghan Markle

The Oprah interview was an emotionally manipulative performance designed to consolidate Harry and Meghan's power

Well that was explosive. Even more than had been expected. In their two-hour sit-down with Oprah Winfrey, Harry and Meghan drove a long knife into the monarchy. They implied that it's a cold, cut-off, racist institution that is so bereft of basic human feeling that it drove a young-ish sensitive woman - Ms Markle - to contemplate suicide. It was Diana's chat with Martin Bashir on steroids. A clash of royal houses worthy of a George RR Martin story. It was also a grotesque spectacle - emotionally manipulative, self-obsessed, and a clear attempt by Harry and Meghan to position themselves as the king and queen of victim politics.

The set-up bordered on nauseating. Here was a duke and duchess in the unimaginably luxurious surrounds of a Californian mansion talking about how difficult their lives have been. In a country where 40 million people lost their jobs as a result of lockdowns, this pair who get paid millions for making naff podcasts moaned to billionaire Oprah Winfrey about their oppression by the establishment. Meghan was wearing a $4,500 dress. She'll probably never wear it again. That's more than twice the amount that desperate Americans will get in their stimulus cheques to keep them afloat in the next few months. It's perverse.

To stop the Left, America needs a Rothbardian Right

rothbard
The official slogan of this year's Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) was "America UnCancelled," and the conference featured a slate of topics confined to such controversial viewpoints as "Why the Left Hates the Bill of Rights ... and We Love It" and "California Socialism: Promising Heaven, Delivering Hell." Fitting for the single largest annual event for America's conservative movement, CPAC was hosted at a corporate hotel that strictly enforced a Democrat-controlled local government's mask mandates and featured a controversial stage constructed by a major Democrat donor.

All of this gave the familiar look of American conservatives standing athwart history yelling stop while handing operational power over to the Left.

Still, more interesting than the official events offered by the American Conservative Union is the larger conversation about the future of the American right. Now that 50+ million Americans have lost faith in the operation of American democracy, with many considering the value of secession, what is the best path forward at a time where a political realignment seems possible?

The political figurehead of the American right is still represented by Donald Trump, as demonstrated by CPAC's annual straw poll results and the way his presence in Orlando attracted supporters from around the country to rally outside the hotel.

Intellectually, however, there remains a massive void left by MAGA's rejection of institutions such as the National Review and most of the conservative "think tanks" that occupy the Beltway. It is largely understood that the future of the GOP is one that appeals to the sort of working-class voters who are more victimized by the economic and cultural policies of the authoritarian left. That has left many populist-right figures advocating for a brand of "economically left, culturally right" conservatism, represented in their minds by figures such as Teddy Roosevelt or Huey Long.

The irony here is that Teddy Roosevelt was America's first progressive reformer in the White House, and the one who began the process of economic cartelization that has created the corrupt corporatist world we now live in. While he likely benefited from higher testosterone levels than your average modern progressive, he helped set the stage for the world they now manage. Similarly, it is precisely the sort of government wealth redistribution programs Long advocated that have, as Hans-Hermann Hoppe has noted, directly contributed to the decay of family structures, civil society, and conservative social order.

Authorities in Minneapolis have erected steel fencing, barbed wire and concrete barricades outside the city's courthouse and local police stations ahead of the Derek Chauvin trial, set to begin Monday.

The former police officer will stand trial for the May 25 killing of George Floyd in an incident which rocked the US to its core and triggered months of unrest and billions of dollar's worth of damage.

An estimated 15 million to 26 million people participated in Black Lives Matter protests in the US in the aftermath of Floyd's death.

Republicans in the state Assembly have drafted a resolution to start impeachment proceedings against Gov. Andrew Cuomo in the wake of mounting allegations of inappropriate behavior with younger women and the controversy over nursing home deaths from COVID-19.

The resolution will be introduced before the end of the day Monday, a spokesman for Assembly Minority Leader Will Barclay (R-Syracuse) said.

At an earlier press conference, Barclay said, "We're going to introduce this resolution because we believe the time has come."

"There's been one bombshell after another," Barclay said. "I don't think I've used the term bombshell, especially this weekend, anytime more in my life."

Ex-Republican Senate candidate Witzke banned from Twitter after calling trans activist 'DEMONIC' for saying 'little girls are also kinky'

Lauren Witzke, a hardline right-winger who ran unsuccessfully for the US Senate in 2020, has been banned from Twitter. Her ban came after she called a trans activist "demonic" for suggesting that "little girls" can be "kinky."

Witzke's account was suspended on Sunday evening, and in a post to Telegram shortly afterwards, the former Senate candidate from Delaware revealed that her account had violated Twitter's rules against "hateful conduct."

Witzke's last tweet before her suspension was only one word long. Retweeting a post by an anti-trans feminist group that contained a quote by self-described "gender non-conforming writer and performance artist" Alok Vaid-Menon, Witzke wrote: "Demonic." The post highlighted that Vaid-Menon seemed to argue that transgender women should be allowed into bathrooms with young girls all because "little girls are also kinky. Your kids aren't as straight and narrow as you think."

"Calling pedophiles demonic now violates twitter's terms of service as 'hateful content,'" Witzke wrote on her Telegram in wake of the ban. "KEEP FIGHTING! It's your job to pick up the torch and fight for what's right!"

A young Democrat voter in Minnesota complained to CNN about a lot of promises unkept by Joe Biden and the Democrat party.

"They're putting the stimulus check on the backburner. They're putting the minimum wage hike on the backburner and they're dropping bombs in Syria right now, and those bombs are kinda expensive for a dude that owes me $2,000." the Biden voter said.

Joe Biden's killed tens of thousands of energy jobs his first day in office when he canceled contracts with the Keystone XL pipeline.

Biden also bombed Syria to punish Iran for its attacks on US forces in Iraq.

One person has died while two others remain in critical condition after suffering serious adverse effects within days of being vaccinated against Covid-19, the Department of Health reported over the weekend. All three patients had received China's Sinovac vaccine.

A 55-year-old woman passed away at Kwong Wah hospital on Saturday morning after suffering an acute stroke and a subsequent heart attack. She had received her jab at the Kwun Chung Sports Centre vaccination centre three days prior. The patient suffered from a history of chronic illness, according to a statement by the Department of Health on Saturday.

It remains unclear whether her passing was a direct result of the jab. Authorities have said an expert committee will investigate whether there was a link.

A third case of a patient passing away within days of receiving the Sinovac vaccine was reported by local media citing sources on Monday. The 71-year-old man was admitted to United Christian Hospital on Sunday night after receiving the jab last Wednesday. He died of a suspected heart attack.

Protesters react as riot police fire tear gas during a demonstration against the military coup in Naypyidaw on Monday.
Two anti-coup protesters were shot to death by security forces in Myanmar's northern Kachin State on Monday, local media reported, as workers staged a general strike across the country to oppose the military move.

In the second such large-scale strike since the Feb 1 coup, at least nine labour unions from various sectors such as construction, manufacturing and agriculture called for the massive mobilization, shutting many businesses and factories.

On Sunday night, security forces took control of hospitals and universities in the largest city Yangon and elsewhere. State media said they acted at the request of people who want stability restored.

Brussels police to send out plainclothes patrols to counter street harassment

Brussels police will deploy plainclothes officers across the city from Monday to combat street harassment against women.

Officers will patrol "hotspots" such as public transport stations in the Belgian capital, police spokesman Olivier Slosse told news agency Belga.

"The way women experience public space is one of the central points of our safety plan. Last year, we started training staff on what exactly street harassment is, but also on how to deal with victims of such acts, as well as how to draw up a report," Slosse said. "Now we are going one step further by going out into the field and actively looking for the perpetrators. The idea is to catch harassers in the act."

He added that while street harassment is common, "such incidents are rarely reported, and when they are reported, it is difficult to identify the culprit. Even if the perpetrator is identified, it is the victim's word against hers. Our presence in the field is therefore necessary in order to ascertain these facts."
