Kuwait skyscraper inferno: 2,500 workers escape building fire without injury

An under-construction skyscraper in Kuwait, set to become the headquarters of the National Bank, has seen 2,500 workers scurry to flee the flames and black smoke that engulfed the tower.

Social media videos show flames licking at the lower levels of the skyscraper, as plumes of thick, black smoke are seen billowing into the sky. The Bank of Kuwait called the blaze a "partial fire in the new NBK headquarters construction site." It released a statement saying that the 2,500 workers were "evacuated from the site in a record time without any injuries."

German doctors cannot determine the substance used in the alleged poisoning of the Russian artist who was sent abroad by his fellow art group members, apparently in hopes of confirming the theory of government involvement.

The artist in question is Pyotr Verzilov - one of the founders of the notorious Voina Art Group, and the mastermind behind the 'performance art' of self-styled 'punk band' Pussy Riot. Verzilov recently began working for the Mediazona news site, which specializes in the rights of inmates in Russian prisons and criminal suspects and convicts in general.

Comment: The traction these degenerates get in the Western media is sickening.

Leftist indoctrination: Tulane University mandates new students take 'race and inclusion' course

Students have mixed reactions to the requirement, mostly falling along ideological and political party lines.
Tulane University now requires all incoming students to enroll in a "Race and Inclusion" course, a new addition to the curriculum that has been condemned by some students for its lack of acknowledgment of viewpoint diversity.

In a recent press release, Tulane announced that all new enrollees will be mandated to enroll in a course that focuses at least 60 percent of it content on "race and inclusion" to help students understand the "increasingly diverse society" they live in.

Courses such as "Dear White People," "Critical Race Theory," "Introduction to Fiction: Race and Inclusion," and "Difference and Inequality" all fit the "Race and Inclusion" course requirement.

Professor Michael Cunningham, who advocated for the new requirement but won't be teaching any of the classes, told Campus Reform that the new requirement was partially prompted by students' disappointment with the lack of diversity engagement on campus.

Ford reports $1bn in lost profits thanks to Trump's trade wars

US President Donald Trump's tariffs are intended to help America's iconic companies. However, Ford's boss is not that happy about Washington's trade duties.

"From Ford's perspective the metals tariffs took about $1 billion in profit from us," CEO James Hackett told a Bloomberg conference in New York. "The irony of which is we source most of that in the US today anyway. If it goes on any longer, it will do more damage."

Hackett was referring to Trump's steel and aluminum tariffs against America's largest trading partners including China, Canada and Europe. Ford's CEO didn't specify the period of the losses incurred, but a spokesman for the company said he was referring to internal forecasts for higher tariff-related costs in 2018 and 2019.

The idea for this article came from one of those annoying "Recommended for you" thumbnails on YouTube. The title was: "Neil deGrasse Tyson: Trump's Space Force Is Not a Crazy Idea." Having written about and researched space weapons for over a decade, I was intrigued as to why a seemingly intelligent man (Tyson) would want to help promote an agenda that will literally imperil us all, namely the weaponization of space: the end-game of which is global domination in the interests of economic neoliberalism. So I clicked. Tyson was talking to host Stephen Colbert about the wonders of space militarization (by the US, of course, not its enemies).


Comment: That's it, Mr. Tyson - keep normalizing the development of tools for technological destruction and dominance because of all the kewl science that can be derived from it.

A teacher in Port St. Lucie, Florida is now speaking out about how she was fired for refusing to give students partial credit for work that they never turned in. That's right, for giving students a zero for completing zero percent of their work, Diane Tirado says she was fired. School policy dictates that she was supposed to give them at least 50 percent-for nothing.

"I got fired. I was packing my stuff, and I was not going to see the kids," former teacher, Diane Tirado said.

Because she wasn't allowed to say goodbye to her students, Tirado wrote the following message on her whiteboard, explaining what happened. The words are profound and expose a major problem with "education" in America today.
"Bye kids, Mrs. Tirado loves you and wishes you the best in life! I have been fired for refusing to give you a 50% for not handing anything in. [heart] Mrs. Tirado."

What do 'Zombie Apocalypse' movies actually tell us?

The "Zombie Apocalypse" movies present a scenario in which part of the human race has morphed into flesh-consuming predators. It falls upon the unaltered, those still ostensibly human and non-predator, to restore the world and its people back to "normality," back to a situation wherein predatory and altered humans are either extinguished or changed back to humans.

Often the genesis of alteration from human to flesh-eating zombie is ascribed to an act of science-gone-wrong, as in the case of the film, I Am Legend. At the outset of this 2007 film, we see a clip of an interview with a well-intentioned scientist, whose efforts at genetic manipulation, intending to cure cancer, end up causing the zombie outbreak.

Besides providing fast-paced entertainment and an adrenaline rush, what do the Zombie Apocalypse movies actually reveal? They present us with a world where the human population has been divided in two-predator and prey-and prey must find a way both to survive and to return the world back to a semblance of normality.

Comment: To answer the author's excellent question: Understanding psychopathy - and the myriad of forces that strengthen its propagation - would seem to be a good start.

Black rapper's 'hang white people' video triggers outrage in France

A young French rapper has made it into the headlines with a graphic music video calling for white people to be killed. And while he's shot to fame, with it has come widespread outrage and an investigation into his "art".

The video features violent scenes of the rapper, Nick Conrad, and another black man torturing and killing a white male. The duo give the man a chance to escape, telling him to run fast - "as the blacks do" - then shoot him in the back for being too slow. Conrad then forces the white man to bite a kerbstone and stomps on his head, in an apparent reference to the movie American History X. The victim is then seen hanged from a post behind the rapper and his sidekicks.

The graphic footage is accompanied by equally shocking lyrics, with Conrad rapping "I go to nurseries and kill white babies" while hanging their parents "to entertain black kids of all ages."

The video, uploaded to Youtube on September 17, gained several thousand views before being removed on Wednesday. Clips from the video, however, are still available on some Youtube accounts and other sites.

Comment: One wonders; had this happened in the US, where 'social justice' and 'white guilt' have become what seems like the norm, would there have been any condemnation by the media or government? Or would he have gotten a job at the New York Times, like Sarah Jeong?

Even Ukraine's own newspapers report bribery problem worse now than in 2015

Despite government promises to tackle corruption, Ukrainians say they encounter bribery even more frequently in 2018 than they did in 2015, according to a study published on Sept. 25.

A joint study by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology and Pact, an international non-profit, found that the index on demanding bribes rose from 20.9 points in a similar study performed in 2015, to 25.4 points in the 2018 study. The index tracking the giving of bribes also rose, from 6.6 points in 2015 to 7.8 points in 2018.

Almost 37 percent of those polled claimed they had been asked to give bribes, and almost 15 percent said they had offered bribes in 2018, according to the poll.

The study was conducted in July and August, with more than 10,000 people polled nationally. Similar studies have been conducted every four years since 2007.

A notorious pedophile has been found dead by police after he was shot dead during the attempted rape of a 12-year old girl at a property in Morgantown, West Virginia.

The 42-year old mother of the girl told investigators that she woke in the early hours of the morning after hearing a commotion in her daughters room. She grabbed a shotgun from her closet and rushed to her daughter's room, where she was confronted by the sight of an unidentified man struggling with her daughter.

Startled, the man turned around to face the mother, at which point she fired directly into his face, blowing off most of his head. The rapist - a 53 year old sex offender known to police for a series of crimes on young victims - died instantly.

The mother took her daughter with her and drove directly to a nearby police station where she made her statement to officers. "Deputies arrived at the scene and discovered the body of a deceased male," said one investigator. "As our enquiry is ongoing we are yet to release the name of the suspect, or the victims involved, but we can confirm that the dead man is on the West Virginia Sex Offender Registry.

The mother and daughter are now staying with relatives as their property remains an active crime scene. It is not clear at this point if any charges will be filed against the mother. Victims rights groups have said they expect she will be cleared of any wrongdoing once the investigation is complete. As one member who spoke to the media said: "Can you imagine confronting a rapist in your child's bedroom? I think all of us would agree he got what he deserved."
