'Ghana is not for sale': Accra protesters march against military deal with US

Ghana Protest
A controversial pact, in which the US military wants to invest $20 million and get access to Ghana's runways and communications, set off rallies in the West African nation, with people chanting their country is "not for sale."

Thousands of people flocked to the streets of Accra, the capital of Ghana, to protest a military deal the government recently signed with the US. As part of the agreement, Washington would allocate around $20 million to train the Ghanaian military, carrying out joint exercises and using the nation's radio channels and runways, the New York Times reported.

On Wednesday, massive demonstrations erupted in the capital, with people decrying both Ghana's government and US President Donald Trump. Demonstrators held placards that read "Shithole government," "Trump take your military base away." "Ghana not for sale," and "Ghana is better than $20 million."

Police say around 3,500 protesters took part. Some voiced unease over the growing US military expansion in Ghana and beyond. "As a right-thinking citizen, I am here to fight for my country. I am against selling our peace and security for $20 million," Gifty Yankson, a 49-year-old trader, told Africa News.

Comment: The US is newly interested in Ghana as it sees China making 'inroads' into Africa with established aid and training programs. Getting its big toe in the door could be just the beginning. See also:

Signs of decline: English households face biggest council tax hike in 14 years - despite a cut in services

Government figures show 4.1 million children are now living in relative poverty
Households will be hit with the steepest council tax rise in 14 years from April, with the average household in England paying £81 more at a time when most local authorities are driving though big cuts to services.

The inflation-busting average 5.1% increase on band D properties in England pushes up the average bill to £1,671. Almost all councils that provide social care have opted to levy an average £30 charge to help meet the spiralling cost of adult care services, official figures show.

Council leaders warned that despite the steep rise, town halls would still have to reduce services. They said they had little choice but to ask residents to pay more as they struggled to balance the books since government funding had been halved since 2011.

Comment: The UK economy is showing signs of terminal decline no matter how the ruling government try to spin it. And we're seeing similar patterns in other Western countries, particularly the US. Incidentally, these are the same countries in which we're seeing the ruling establishment succumb to total hysteria and deflecting their failings onto Russia:

Gender loophole? Man legally changes gender so he can retire 5 years earlier

gender equality march
An Argentinian man who spent decades slaving away as a tax worker is getting to enjoy some of that "gender equity" everybody's been calling for. All he had to do was sign a few forms and change one little letter to start enjoying retired life a few years earlier - as a "woman."

What sounded like an Argentinian version of the Bruce-to-Caitlyn Jenner story - but without the Olympic gold, the Kardashians, and a "Woman of the Year" award - has turned out to be a rather brilliant early retirement plan by a humble tax worker, Sergio Lazarovich, that just wants some fairness, and his pension.

Last June, Sergio officially became Sergia, and Sergia officially became eligible to start drawing her state pension. But a member of Sergia's family has now blown the lid off the gender identity-based gender equity move, though what actions the state might take remain to be seen.

Comment: So perhaps we'll see a wave of women changing their gender to 'male' so they can get paid more, and more men become 'women' to get early retirement. Pay gap solved!

Israeli soldiers hold 3-year-old boy - claim he was 'camouflage' for terrorists

Palestinian journalist Raed Abu Rumaila recorded an apparent instance of Israeli soldiers harassing a 3-year old in Hebron's Old City on Tuesday, posting the clip and photos of the incident to social media. The boy is seen being held by soldiers for under a minute, yet the incident continue to gain steam as Israeli police today accused the small child of acting as "the camouflage" to "agents for terrorist activities."

Above the video, Abu Rumaila wrote, "A soldier carrying a vegetable corer and claiming that the child was trying to stab him." The footage is shaky and looks like it was recorded on a cell phone. In frame are two soldiers, one holding the metal corer and another holding the unidentified boy by the arm.

A voice shouts in Hebrew "He doesn't understand," referring to the child. A soldier says "one second, one second," another yells, "I don't care, step back." When the boy's father approaches with another child, the soldier pulls back, but his clutch is quickly released. The father is heard shouting back in Hebrew, "Give me the boy, leave the boy alone!"

In the last frame the three year old is crouching behind his father.

Comment: Pitiful hasbara attempt by the police spokesman. If the Israelis really cared, they would have just given the kid some candy and tried to earn some good will. They didn't, because they don't care about good will. Three-year-old Palestinians are vermin to them.

Brexit: Some Leave voters whinge about their regrets on social media and Remainers wail for #finalsay

Brexit
With just a year to go before the UK effectively withdraws from the EU, the public has taken to social media to call for a '#finalsay' on the Brexit deal, having branded the Vote Leave campaign the "biggest dupe."

Remainers are using the '#finalsay' hashtag to vent their frustration at the UK's "catastrophic" decision to quit the bloc, and to call on the government to give the public a vote on any final deal. The idea of not having a say on the Brexit deal is "intellectually bankrupt," according to one social-media user.

Comment: The British public - and not just those on twitter, or funded by Soros - voted to leave the EU, no matter how many snowflakes take to social media to decry that they want to stay. Although looking at the mess the UK government are making of leaving, it may not happen any time soon or as expected.

What is clear is that a great many people in EU member states are sick of the bureaucrats in Brussels and are slowly building up a base with which to attempt to take back power:

British teenagers selling their virginity online for millions

© Cinderella Escorts
British teenagers are being encouraged to auction their virginity online after a woman from the UK broke the record for selling her first experience of sex.

A website which is used as a platform to broker deals between virgins and those seeking sex with them has bragged of the huge sum collected by the 26-year-old. The woman, "Jasmine",fetched a staggering €1.2 million ($1.5 million) for the sale of her first time. A Hollywood actor purchased it, according to the agency.

Jasmin says she got to audition three men via dates, before their final bids were placed. In a statement, the student wrote that she had no regrets.

"This was an amazing expirience! (sic). After I got public attention it took some months but finally I sold my virginity! Last week I dated three guys for Dinner here in London. A football player from Manchester United, who really want (sic) super nice to me. Also I've had a date with a business-man from Munich. He was a real Gentleman and we really liked each other. But to be honest he was finally to (sic) old for me.

Comment: One has to be concerned that women are learning at a very young age that their bodies are merely commodities that can be purchased. Not only that, but when this young lady espouses how 'amazing' the act of selling her virginity off is, it makes it look like normal behavior to other young women. This should be considered anything but normal behavior.

America's favorite mid-western family is back, and their big debut on Tuesday night has rocked Hollywood to its core.

According to Deadline, the "pro-Trump" revival of the hit '90s sit-com Roseanne, which pulled in a staggering total of 18.2 million viewers this week, has left Hollywood executives stunned, prompting some serious "soul-searching."

"While nostalgia was expected to bring in eyeballs, no one predicted such a huge turnout on premiere night for the blue-collar family sitcom with a Donald Trump-supporting protagonist, especially among the younger demographic," Deadline reports.

The show hit big with its target audience: working-class Americans, performing strong in underserved markets that Hollywood typically shuns.

Neil Clark warns that Skripal 'lies' from UK government could get us into another Iraq War

Neil Clark has issued a warning: the UK may be repeating its mistakes from 2003, when the government used bogus intel to stir up a war. Clark added that the UK's Skripal ' theory has "more holes in it than a slab of swiss cheese".

Clark sat down with RT to discuss the Britain's blaming of Russia for the Sergei and Yulia Skripal poisoning, and to warn the public against repeating the same mistakes that were made nearly two decades ago.
"What are the biggest threats to UK security? The biggest threats to the British public have been the threat of Islamist attacks. We saw only last May the appalling Manchester Arena bombings, the Westminster attack - so it's clear that the biggest threat to us in Britain is of jihadist attack.

"And yet the British government... falsely claimed that Russia was to blame for the Salisbury incident, they have not produced any proof of that yet. What is causing this threat to British security is its neo-conservative foreign policy... we need to have a proper debate here about who are the real threats.

"Tell you what, it's not Russia - because Russia has actually been fighting against these jihadists in Syria, defeating them. The very same people who brought death to the streets of Britain."

Christopher Wylie testifies Facebook has ability to spy on you anywhere

facebook shirt
In June of 2016, as Instagram celebrated reaching 500 million monthly users, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook, posted a photo of himself enjoying the moment. The photo quickly went viral, not because people like Zuckerberg, but because it showed the owner of a company-that requests permission to record through your camera and microphone-with tape over both his camera and microphone. Now, we know why.

Cambridge Analytica whistleblower Christopher Wylie, appearing before a committee of British MPs on Tuesday, delivered a bombshell testimony noting that Facebook has the ability to spy on all of its users in their homes and offices.

Wylie is testifying before the British parliament as it investigates the role of the now infamous Cambridge Analytica firm in the Brexit election. The chairman of the committee, MP Damian Collins came right out and asked Wylie if Facebook has the ability to listen to what people are talking about in order to better target them with ads.

"There's been various speculation about the fact that Facebook can, through the Facebook app on your smartphone, listen in to what people are talking about and discussing and using that to prioritize the advertising as well," Collins said. "Other people would say, no, they don't think it's possible. It's just that the Facebook system is just so good at predicting what you're interested in that it can guess."

As TFTP has previously reported, Facebook has admitted that its app has the capability to listen to what is happening around it. Wylie went on to confirm this and put it into shocking perspective, illustrating that Facebook can listen to you to find out where you are.

Comment: Not just for Facebook, but many other apps require your 'permission' before you can use them. As with Facebook, those settings can be 'turned off'. However, that doesn't necessarily make your phone surveillance free. See also: Big Data Pys-Ops is the new Military-Industrial Complex

Buzzfeed pushes nonsensical Christopher Steele conspiracy theory FBI covered up death of Mikhail Lesin in 2015 by Putin enforcers

The US media outlet is insinuating that the FBI covered up the death of Mikhail Lesin in 2015 by ignoring the claim it was a Moscow hitjob, which comes from Christopher Steele, the author of the notorious Trump-Russia dossier.

Mikhail Lesin, a media and advertising magnate with ties to the Russian government, was found dead in his hotel room in Washington in November 2015. An FBI report declassified in January said that the 57-year-old, who had, according to witnesses, been on a days-long drinking binge, died as a result of "blunt injuries to his head, with contributing causes being blunt force injuries of the neck, torso, upper extremities, and lower extremities, which were induced by falls, with acute ethanol intoxication" with no sign of foul play.

But, according to Buzzfeed, whose Tuesday article has seven authors in its byline, Steele, a former UK intelligence officer turned private researcher, has produced a "secret report" using "gathered intelligence from high-level sources in Moscow."

Comment: The theory makes no sense. Why would the FBI protect Putin? It's much more likely that Lesin's death was at the hands of Western enforcers, most likely within or part of American law enforcement.
